Mason jars come in 1/2 gallon units. They're about $10.00 for 6 jars.

Ace Hardware carries them and if your local store does not have them you can go to their web site and order them and they'll be delivered to your store with no S & H charges added.

Walmart will also carry these at certain times of the year and this probably isn't one of them right now.

Plastic is your freind! Tupperware type containers! Glass looks nice but it breaks and its loud and not to mention heavy. Use your inner McGyver!

I have been using these Italian Fido 5 liter (165 fluid ounce) glass jars. I think they are great for this application. They are big enough to hold multiple ounces and you can get your hand in through the mouth. They are about $12 online and $20 in a specialty cooking store. I really like them for curing.

(You cant really get a sense of just how large these are from the photo btw.... They hold over a qp)

Nice price on those gallon jars Simon!
I was going to suggest frequenting a busy bar.
Olives come in those same 1 gallon jars.
Granted the lids have no rubber seal, but work fine in my opinion.
Have to give a soapy wash to get rid of that brine smell, but they can be free or for trade.
I mean, you are going to be transacting with a bartender...

i would just use turkey bags...wayy easier than opening all those jars and it still cures up perfect....also saves a lot of money in the long run

most dont use jars for a 10lb harvest even a 5 lb. Jars are only used for personal use.You can use a bag to cure in most dont like to.Dont handle the buds often if there in a bag you will be fine. Bags have been used for much longer then jars. If I need long term storage I will vacuum seal my extra lbs until needed. If its in a bag or jar when it gets to 55% I seal it up.
