Back to hydro I go

Setting up an easy perpetual system. The plan is 10 plants per 600 per tray, 3 sets of trays, spaced 3 weeks apart

This just began today so this will be a little slow at first

Switching over from soil, so I had to dump a few clones and wash them off and get them into a hydro substrate. I have a bunch of Sure to grow left over from when the reps sent me a few cases, Ill give it a whirl again.
forgot a decent camera. my celly is a throw away and the lens shows it

----Having upload problems, will be back to post some pics------

So they will chill here until I get the rest of it built.

Shooting for 2x4ft tray on top of resy
all 3 resy's tied together and tied to a controller bucket by a 1.5" pipe at the bottom
the planters will sit in a hole on top so the roots can grow into the resy
Constant feed directly into each individual container

Ill be using my left over Sensi bloom from my coco dayz
Tap water set out minimal 24hrs
Deciding on bubbler in resy cuz it seems the constant feed will draw oxy into the mix

All to be seen
Resy building show next

Hows the STG? I thinking about switching over to them for my next crop. Hydroton is getting to be a pain in the ass to haul in & out to clean.

I dont have an honest opinion. I used it in an ebb n flow bucket system using their loose fill, they didnt have 5 gal bucket inserts yet. It all collapsed on its own weight, caused issues, pissed me off, packed it up.
Plus I did a tray of 40 cuttings and lost the all from their cubes. Learning curve??? Maybe, probably and didn't care.
Im using it again because I have a storage shed full of equipt and stuff I have accumulated and Im broke right now so Im doing all "no purchse" grows till I can recoup
plus Ive been on the organic WOLife, its just more damn plastic to me.....

Im going to try some clones in the cubes again too.

Day 2 of the transplant, all is well. Root hairs showing growth of their fines, plants are saluting.
Got a head plan for the resy and grow chambers
Thinkin giant overhead wing looking reflector for all 3 bulbs

Saw a grow tent today. 4x8, pretty sweet.....
put that on the list of things I NEED
into the garage I go

^ damn that sucks. I heard about the support issues with them before as they look like foam.

Any ideas why the cuttings didnt survive? Are they similar to hydroton with retaining water or do they just soak it up like rockwool? thanks

No wicking at all was my learning curve in cloning
Its spun HDPE. Alot like the filling in a pillow, but a firm pillow, dont see why one could't use batting like a pillow???
Thats why I think it will work well in the constant feed system. Doesnt "hold" on to anything

Im just going to build two for now. That's all I need and if anything, I've learned not to pre build in evolving projects

The babies still lookin good
Decided to remove some of the bigger Vision Clouds for the initial crop. The others pictured need some veg time.

Think Ill wait to tie all the resys together untill I mono crop. Maybe not. Could give me indications of nute whores or sensitives. hmmmm....

Set pond liners by loose fitting and filling 5gal at a time
Im takin the water level up to the bottoms of the pots
the raft they sit in will fit in the other resys. Ill veg in one, pull it all up and transfer the whole tray unit, depending on the root mass. If not entangled
picture.php
Ill probably transfer plants
