Hi guys

I have a little problem with my Northern Light plant. Over a week now on middle and top leafs i noticed several rust spots. They appear in the middle hight of plant and the higher i look the more of them. First i thought its cal but leafs are not yellow at all and the problem starts on all leaf not just on the edges.

I have 3 different plants in my room (WW, Skunk#1, ICE) in 3rd week of flowering and water them same water (boiled, standed, pH usually 5,8) under 400W HPS dual spectrum in soil and they are all fine. I add minimum recommended dose of BioBloom, TopMaxx and PK13/14 every 2 waterings.

Last two waterings didn`t add any nutrients, just water and last watering increased pH to 6,4 in case its Ca blocked coz of low pH.

Any idea what that could be?

Thanks in advance

i always put it down to salt build up but im proberly wrong i flush and it sorts it out with my nl x cheese, it only happens on the fan leaves 3 week of flower.

Hi 2tm23,

Do you boil all the water you use?
Have you tried a flush with some clearex/H202? (usually gives you a fresh start)

Thanks for fast response. Did you have extactly same symptoms? Im asking coz searched online many different forums and everyone had brown spots going with yellowing but i only got these rusty fuc..rs. Otherwise my plant is very healthy but i wouldnt like that shit to spread out all over my plant and affect flowering (yield). These spots dont grow bigger its just more of them every day on single leafs.

Anyone else had same problem to confirm what could coused leafs rusting?

Usually i do boil water if i dont boil it i leave it for few days then (add nutrients if needed then adjust the pH and water plants.

I havent flush yet but what are clearex/H202? anyway flush might sort it out but ill never know coused it and hat is more imporatnt for me gaining experience.

Appears to be a Mg deficiency.
Which could also indicate that you are using an ozone generator.
The 2 look very similar and are often mistaken for one another.

So take your pick. If you are using an ozone unit then that damage is localized near the generator. Otherwise they are low on Mg.

Try using 1 teaspoon of Epsom Salt per gallon to boost the Mg...after that watering, you may want to consider .5 of a teaspoon with additional waterings.

bigwity my Psychosis is currently in week 3 of flower & the fan leaves are showing the exact same symptoms.
Im thinking of using "Drip clean" to see if thatll help.

not using ozone generator anywhere near my growbox, actually i dont use it at all :D

in the end the whole leaf goes rusty brown. are your tips burned.

No they are not.

Will do.

Drip clean?

Noone didnt even consider it could calcium, am i totally wrong thinking it might be that? Next time going to add epsom salts, garden lime and normal flowering nutrients together? If that wont help will do the flush. You think its a good idea to do that?

I have that on my Sweet Cindy 99, I just give it some Botanicare cal/mag and it's good. Flush first to be extra safe if you like.

Most likely your soil pH is too low and it's causing a cal/mg lockout. Get some lime in there to raise it up a bit and it should go away, in addition to the flushing you're already doing

I know it should be around 6,5-6,8 but on different forum some very experienced grower advised me to go down to 5,8 on veg stage and a bit higher on flowering. I said 5,8 cos few last waterings water was on that level and i know it should be higher (which i already done) but it didnt seem to affect other plants in my growbox. Anyway heres some more photos of that suffering NL:

Yeah you could say that im doing flush now - watering 6,3-6,5 with no nutrients added. was going to add some garden lime as well nxt watering and maybe some epsom salts...

Sorry i should edit my previous post to answer

Hydrogen peroxide, the shit that makes your hair white :) does the same for roots it its pretty much H20 with an extra O2 molecule so it oxidises the root pooh and cleans up the medium giving you a chance to strat fresh without hurting your plants,

Mix a little with a litre or 2 of water. (OBVIOUSLY MORE IF YOU NEED)

Flush that hooker real good. Then shoot her some cal/mag plus or molasses. Both are a good source of cal/mag. Also, add some fast acting dolomite lime to your soil. Dolomite helps keep the ph in check and has loads of cal/mag

Oh you ment H202 (H-two-o-2 not H-two hundred and two) :D i knew what was it then just didnt read it properly :D What pH should water used for flush have?

If your soil has sufficiant buffers in it EG. lime when your organic ph shouldnt be an issue.

So water with H2o2 straight.

Is your water real hard?

Ok I just watered all my plants. Mixed water with dolomite lime (1 tabelspoon/1L of water; didnt mix very well together but did my best) adjusted pH to 6,7 (if soil was acidic (about 5,8) and water more into alkaline the final result should be about 6,3?) . I also added some more dolomite on top of soil and finally watered them. I watered them all cos on two other plants these spots appeard as well. Hope dolomite lime going to help them.

Ill let you all know if that helped

Thanks for advices
