I got a cheap 4x8 off of Ebay. Cost me $185 and since the place was in my hometown I just picked it up.

I have the weight on the ceiling maxed out. The tent is also 7' high. Thick canvas and mylar, multiple 4" and 6" vents. The zippers are tough. However it is nowhere near the convenience of a Secret Jardin or Sun Hut(very nice tents for the money)

I'm kind of in the same boat as the OP. I have been running a Grow Lab 80 for a while, and have been very happy with it. The windows seemed pretty gimmicky to start with, but I find that I use one of them a couple of times a day. I keep a thermometer/hygrometer in clear view of the window, and I can simply pull up the corner of the flap and reassure myself that everything is still fine! It also works well for keeping an eye on the circulating fan. I would like to add another tent, and if there is anything available that is better (Secret Jardin, maybe?), I wouldn't mind upgrading. However, I would hate like hell to take a step down! Does anybody have direct experience with a Grow Lab and an alternate?

I got a grow lab (L) & homebox (S). Both made by the same company just rebranded. Both are built very well. The fabric they use is thick & there zippers are also thick so they dont break. The only light leak is from either the outlets where cables come in & out if not pulled tight or the air inlet flaps if you leave them up.

The other one I have is the hydrohut. This one I dont recommend unless your not able to get the homebox or grow lab. Unlike the grow lab or homebox the material seems thinner & the zipper is tiny compared the GL or HB. 1st problem from the gate was a bunch of pin holes. 2nd the zipper was falling off because the thread came loose, had to redo it by hand. 3rd there was light leak coming from in between the zippers. 4th the frame is all metal with the corners welded & 2 of my corners were not welded straight so even tho I got it together there was a bend/slant you could clearly see in the middle when you joined it. Man did I regret paying $300? or whatever I did then for it.

Edit: One thing I could do without on the grow lab is the windows. Makes you feel like you need glasses. has a blurry effect to it.

Okay, so... everything on that list is complete crap except for the hydro hut. Don't get me wrong, they're worth having and/or setting up, using... you know. But since the upgraded hydro huts came out, that is by far the best tent on the market.

I've owned three secret jardin's, and I've seen home box's and grow lab's. During their time, these were decent tents. And I enjoyed using mine. But when you compare it to the new hydro huts, it's just terrible. All the pinhole problems, and the weak plastic corners, not to mention the super weak poles and easily rip able fabric.

I'm using the new Hydro Hut Elite's (10x10) and they're worth every penny. They hold 300 lbs (instead of SJ's lame 65 lbs). The fabric is thicker and stronger. Light proof, without any pinhole leaks so far. They zippers have flaps and velcro to prevent light leaks there. Seals up very nicely. The corners are made out of steel instead of plastic and clip in. There's more ventilation holes than you could ever use for any configuration. I'm buying a bunch more, and never trying to buy another brand till they catch up.

Ive been looking all over the net for "Hydro Hut Elite" grow tents but cant find them anywhere.Got any suggestions where to find them? They sound Bad ASS!

Just got a Hydro Hut Silver 4x8. I had a couple secret Jardins. Took one down for the 55X110 inch footprint.

I thought the HH Silver would be so much better. It's much stronger. (Structural Rigidity). No plastic corners. Steel poles that lock together. But it leaks light insane! The huge zipper flaps don't work. The port placement is terrible. Nothing a razor can't fix. But, I thought I'd get the word out.

Switching to vertical. Peace.

Sorry! It is the HydroHut Estate... not the Elite. I did just find my first pin holes though, looks to be inevitable. But they are still superior to everything else I've used. If you can afford it I'd recommend a Secret Jardin Intense 10x20 after seeing them... pretty sweet. They're all expensive though... so expensive.

I think Im gonna go with the Secret Jardin Intense line.I wonder though which Secret Jardin models have less problems with light leaks. The Darkroom II,or the Intense line?

The intense line is suppose to be the new Heavy duty commercial line.
