thats where the h202 comes in. its clean, disinfects and oxygenates the root zone. i can name 30 more things it does but i would sound like a broken record,

i do the 36hr dark period myself.. many ppl scoff at it until they try it! one bit of mis information tho, you say they yellow to the leaves is frm rapid growth when realy its due to the lack of light meaning the plants cnt produce the enuf food (laymans term lol) ect .. as we knw plants get the majority of their food frm the lights.. nitt picking i knw but whats the use of a web site without the correct info.. all the best... c

Rapid growth is right mm is on the spot. The plants are frantically searching out light by extending every branch...they eat all available N and start to cannibalize the porphyrin ring nitrogens in chlorophyll to build new cell proteins. An evolutionary trick to keep them going and search for light when buried by ash, landslides etc...IMO of course.

the plants grow faster then there is chlorophyl being created, thats all. even dialed in gardens that dont use the 36 hrs that stretch tons at night will experience the same thing, good looking out though,

lol been in this too long for egocentricities. i like to be clear and concise with no sugar on top. im not a prince, a king or a dawg, just a man, and medicine doesnt always mean something material, it can be a change in behavior or mentality, like awakening or realizations,

Med Man ,can you give us a brief overview on how you finish up your plants with this system ,specificaly the extended dark period & dropping of temps?

i always flush for 10 days then give them 4 days of ice water and darkness, sometimes longer subject to conditions all things caonsidered,

Will you explain this a bit more? Do you just ice the rez? Do you harvest on the 4th day or put them back into a 12/12 for a cycle or two?

THANKS

do you drop your room temps when you give them ice water? & if so,to what? Thanks

at peak flowering i have my temps as high as 86 degrees with peak co2. so when i shock ripen i drop the temp to 75 so the plants still transpire. you dont want the plants not eating the cold water. if the temps were lower they wouldnt drink as much. turn the dehu's on to full throttle, flow to full throttle, fill res with as much ice as possible and top off with ice water and add h202 every 2 days at 1.6ml/L. gotta make sure the room is pitch black, dont even use green light if you can avoid it. the resin produced during this period has a rainbow-esk aura and the sweetest smell, even bone dry the bud will jam up a grinder from the stick, good luck,

THANKS

u need at least 72 hours of dark, with the coldest solution possible when you start. some people i help have let grows go 10 days, topping off the res with ice daily, and those plants wer some of the whitest triched out plants id ever seen, and so purple the looked black, like old g13 hashplant.

just remember everything is subject to strain, system, space and grower. there is no definitve way to do it. just as long as they get 72 hours dark with the coldest water,

Thanks for the thread, med man. Has been very informative and interesting. Would you mind elaborating a little bit more on what rate of flow you recommend for various stages of growth?

You mentioned that you veg in 3" rockwool and then transplant to the system, have you had any issues with rockwool in this type of system?

Looking forward to more pics of the system in action!

what size res or how much neut do you use for the 2 table system like dees shown and how often are you changing it? what are acceptable temps for the res as i was told one didnt need a res chiller with system, thanxs guys !

Ok Rez I got a couple for ya... can this deep chill for 72 hours work with and ebb n flow drain table in hydroton? and if so....and all this comes after a ten day flush? but what are your trich's looking like at the start of the flush? Im thinking I want to try this out im at 5 1/2 weeks and the ladies are starting to swell.

thanks buddy,

you want the flow as low as possible in the beggining stages, becuase there are no root mats established yet, so you dont want to water log , especially with littler guys.

i dont recommend anything larger then 3 inch. 4 inch will do but plants will be bigger in the prveg, and trays only hold 10 instead of 21 preveggies. not optimal conditions when using the medman method, unless you have the space and wanna sopend extra on material thats fine. the original model was to root cuts in rw slabs, then palnt them in mini cubes. iu thought it was a superfulous task, and used the medman method instead. posting pics now,

hey buddy. 100 gal is better, as i always like having everything more then less in our grow spaces, like fans, a/c's, res, dehu etc, when they are big they can always be dieled down, you never wanna get cuaght with yer pants down 1/2 way thru a crop becuase you cheaped out on material in the beginning. we use the standard grotek ones, 4 ft x 4ft open air rezs like the picture shows,. dont worry about res temps with thei system/ 75% of the rootmass is exposed to air. look at the root pics closely. all the roots that breath air stand up at 90% to breath. thats why i like this system more then aeroponics, i feel the plants get everything they need at all times, with no need for a rez chiller or iar stones etc. the water is always waterfalling 24.7 with a type 7 mag drive always stirring in the rez, plus h202 every 2 days at 1.6ml/L,

all my hash is always a light golden colour when processed after harvest. extra resin oozes out during this time, its very sweet and sticky, even when bone dry or over cured. if you want a description of colour, imagine sparkley diamond. glands swell u.o.c.,

if you do flood and drain, flood twice as much 24 hours a day. top off res with ice as needed or use a res chiller on max to maintian the coldest temps possible, overwatering will stress them out even more, very excited for you if you try it, that is what we are doing, stressing the plant to activate its defense mechanism = resin.smell.taste
