Hey Chuck ...

Yep, I consider myself very fortunate to be able to grow the wonderful genetics from breeders here at ICMAG. It's definitely a treat for me and I just hope I do them justice.

hi billy, nice girl m8 , she looks nice and healthy!

how is it you go abt making seed on a lower branch m8? and i take it the seed dont spread thru the rest of the plant? never made f2's before and really interested. just knew to the forum m8 and still finding my way around. soz in advance if this is the wrong place to ask this question m8

No problem, K4..

Well, I took a paint brush from my kids crayola water colors and dipped it into the pollen, then painted the bud very gently. More of a dabbing motion if you will... being very careful not to spread it around too much. Covered the bud with a clear plastic baggie for a few hours.... and

Then I prayed that I didn't "f" it up... :D

:D klkl m8, but as i say i am new to the seed thing, how do you go about gettin the pollen from the male? i know males are said to fully flower in 3 weeks. do they go in a seperate room themselfs to start flowering? as i say m8 new to the whole seed making process but interested

Well K4, I'm no expert... but mine took about 35-40 days from seed to start dropping pollen.... I flipped the switch very early on 'em so that is probably about as quick as you'll get...

The SC99 male was 47 days when I chopped him....

I move the males out of the house to the greenhouse where they can strut there stuff until it's time to meet the axe.

When they start to open the flowers, I fold an index card (black), hold it under the branch and shake. Low-tech, but effective. Used it fresh. Last time I dumped it into an amber vial with some silica gel then threw it in the freezer. No idea if it is any good or not...

right m8 got you, so basically i would flower the males in a tent of there own and take the pollen when the flowers start to shed it, nxt question lol, do you need to hit the female at a certain time with the pollen? ie. a certain week in flower?

That I don't know. I just dusted it when it was about a week into flower... I would imagine that would be time enough for them to develop. Last thing you want is a bud full of immature seeds...

I'm sure someone in the breeders lab would be better to answer these questions...
Breeder's Lab

Not that I mind the questions, just don't want to give out bad advice.. blind leading the deaf and all...

Hey Billy, your Gdoggy girl is looking nice, just like all your plants, bro.

Hope you have fun with those f2's.

So, after watcing this tread, I broke down last night and started soaking a few of the Gdoggy. If I get at least one female and one male, will probably make some f2's as well.

Here is a hint for pollen chucking, take the girl into another room if possible from the rest of your girls. Brush on the pollen (dab it on, as Billy said to make good contact with the pistils) and let her sit for a few hours. Get a spray bottle with some water, and when ready to take her back in with the other girls, give her a mist down with the water to kill off any unwanted pollen. I also like to change clothes just in case I got pollen on myself (I can be sloppy sometimes) so I don't accidentally seed anything I did not intend.

I think you can hit your girl up with pollen anytime after you get flower set, of course the larger the flower, the more seeds potentially from it. Then it should take 4-5 weeks for the seed to reach maturity. So, to be safe, if you know how long you will take the plant to harvest, be sure and count back maybe 6 weeks as a good time to pollinate. That way you know you will have time for the seed to fully mature.

That's what has worked for me, but I am by no means a breeder or anything of the sort.
Please, anyone feel free to correct anythning I may have been wrong about or missed.

Good luck, Billy and Kai04

There looking good, Billy. Starting to get some good color to them. Not bad for 40 days or flower time.

Keep up the good work, bro.

Rezinous :thank you:

Yeah, they are getting more and more color everyday... Interestingly, the seeded bud is cranking out purple tips on the calyxes. very cool looking. I'll grab a photo of it next time out....

It's like Christmas everyday with that one... good stuff. Thanks CSG. :tiphat:
