A new approach to water curing

day 3 of my first water cure. Anyone here with any actually experience?? The buds look exactly the way they did when i cut them, when do they lose color? Is there a way to tell when its done?? I'm changing water regularly & planning to be done on day 7.

Alternative ways of drying? I'm thinking in the oven at 150 before decarbing.

I am making a tincture so taste smoothness ect is not required. a stealthy dry/decarb are my primary goals. less chlorophyll in the GD would be nice also.

I found the color didn't really change until day 5, day 6 even. The change isn't as apparent when it's wet, either. You'll see when it dries.

To tell when it's done, monitor the ppm with a meter if you have one. When the water comes out at near the same ppm as it started, then it is certainly done.

If you don't have a meter, go at least 7 days, but feel free to go a couple more if the water still looks cloudy at 7 days.

As for drying, I used light air movement, and slight warmth. Like a small fan blowing from near a heater vent and place a tray of wet erb a few feet away just getting a slight breeze. I try to aim for something that will take 12-18 hours before dry. Then jar, but I would find that to not over dry them initially, you will have to still burp the jars for a few days as some moisture wicks out from the center.

I was thinking of water curing a bit of my bud from this harvest and mixing it with some regularly dried weed.

I've obtained buds from grow buddies and water cured them with good results. Nothing too technical, just fresh water and changed it when the PPM or colour changed. Smelled all right but I miss that dank smell. I'm thinking it'd be good for maybe being semi-stealth... needs that dankness or just doesn't feel the same. But I'm all for potency and less harsh bud, because despite proper conventional flushing and curing methods WC takes the cake for smoothness and potency.

great help thanks.

did a test run with some lower branches, very stealth & made a great GD. Color of water is not changing as much. pulled the main cola & will hang dry it for a couple days. first batch was quick dried in the toast oven. it worked.

I water cured an entire hashberry plant that I cut. I wanted to try something new, so I tried it. The taste was pretty much all gone, but the smoke was very light and smooth. Not a ton of smell, if any that I noticed.

I'm not saying the smell is 100% gone, but I often take a small baggie of water cured smoke with me out to the lake when I go fishing, and I've never had issues, even when game warden brought his boat up to me to see what was going on. I don't ever recommend smoking in a location that may be unsafe, but personally I have had no issues.
