Try making Cannabutter in a crockpot sometime. Everything else remains the same. Rumour is that it makes munchies insanely strong. I just tried it for my Medical edibles and it seems easier then the double boiler as you can leave the house. It seems a bit safer. I cooked for 8 hours but I have heard of other people cooking longer. Oh the house smells very incriminating when you cook lol.

Do the males really produce enough to make butter from?
I honestly thought males were only very minimal in their prodcution of thc
oh they do by all means, i make maybe about 2 grams of pure hash off one male plant. tested and approved, i always tell newbies to never completely throw away your males not that your a newbie but most arent aware of how useful they actually are with extraction methods.

well I have read every page of this thread, and I have just finished eating my first cookie. Made some really good readind while going through the process.
Not made a strong batch. 2 g's of buds, sour kush and warlock made into cannbutter with 30g of butter. This then went into a cookie mix. Which made 6 cookies. So thats 0.3g per cookie, Not much but I plan on eating 3 or all before I goto a we get together tomorow night,
Now probably wasn't the best time to eat one vecause I'm going yo bed anyway.

well for a QP i'd go with about 1 to 2 sticks. If they are Crystal encrusted a pound of butter thats usually 4 sticks will do just fine!

I'm planning on using 2 sticks of butter with 60 grams of vaped bud and 3.5 grams of quality medical nug, any comments on this ratio? More or less butter?
im pretty sure you can just melt butter and add your MJ. not real need for water...just makes the waiting period shorter in my opinion. nice measurements in the op
Ok here are a few thoughts you might like to know.
- If you don't add the water you run the risk of burning the butter(going over the vaporizing point of 375*)
- Water helps the butter and the crap to completely separate(when you cool this in the fridge the butter will solidify and the water will stay liquid)
- Water also helps pull the chlorophyll and what ever else isn't THC away from the THC bonded with fat(cannabutter).
Also you don't have to wait for the butter to solidify to use it. You can poor it when warm just use a large measuring cup with spout to poor off the floating fat.
sounds good to me. I feel like you should add the quality bud first to set the tone of the butter then after an hour then add the rest, living it over night in crockpot or on stove for 20 min then the rest of the time you have to do the remainder of the vaped bud in one batch. hope that makes sence
Yes But if you have any extra stems or leaf throw it in. Maybe 3/4 f a stick. I generally use 1 quarter to one stick

This sticky was very helpful I just tried this with aabout a 1/2 oz of bud and some good trimming and 1/2 lb of butter.everything seemed to go right except my butter looks mmore like your after it seperated. It's all brightish green as apposed to ur dark brown loooking top. Right now mines in the fridge wondering if it will be ok im kinda worried because I didnt cook it quit as long as you said because it was clearly glossy.
