Wish I could help you out, but I'm having fan problems too! Some of my equipment arrived today and when I tried out the 4" axial fans they were waaaay louder than I had expected. Totally fine if stealth isn't an issue, as I picked them up pretty cheap (25$ each). Definitely going to stick around and see what others have to say!

I've been on the fence between vertical bulb and getting a hood and going traditional horizontal style, the problem is finding one that fits inside my 23 7/8" x 23 7/8" footprint comfortably. I figured I could always try vertical first and save the 100+ dollars.

PS: If stealth isn't an issue, I'd recommend an axial fan or two as they are pretty cheap and while they don't move tons of air (my 4" axials are only rated 80CFM) like a blower, I think it'd be fine considering the confined space inside the cab.

Its always fun getting your equipment! Its like christmas.... except better :)

Stealth is a major issue with me, which is why I chose to get the S&P for my exhaust fan, so I don't think I would be able to get away with one of those fans.

Take a look at the hood I have, The original Super Sun. http://www.greners.com/super-sun-reflector.html It has a very small footprint, and the duct comes out the front and the back allowing it to fit in a much tighter footprint. The ducting is also 4 inch which is perfect for a small tent.

True that, I've been very excited lately, especially after ordering some of Rezdogs beans, I was literally jumping around the house like a ballerina! LOL. I was asleep when my stuff arrived, luckily the wife got up to answer the door!

About the S&P, I'm guessing you got one of the new "Silentline series" 4" inline? I was looking at them online but couldn't find very much info on them. Just how quiet are they? I may seriously need to pick one up. I saw you mention the hood you use earlier (and I saw it looked very nice in the pics in this thread). The problem is none of the canadian stores I ordered my equipment from has them. If/when I get one, it will definitely be that model, thanks!

One last thing, and I'm not sure if you will be able to answer it or not, but I'll give it a shot. I ordered a CAN9000 filter without paying much attention to anything but the price (it was the cheapest one on the site), and didn't notice it's frigging HUGE. It will not fit inside my tent horizontally. The only thing I've been able to come up with is leaving it outside the tent, and pushing air through the filter. Does this work? Would it also act as a poor man's muffler? Will it burn my fan out, considering most fans like to pull air rather than push it?

I wish I had some of Rezdogs gear myself, but I couldn't justify spending so much since I don't have the ability to keep clones as I will hopefully be moving fairly far away soon. I will definitely get some Rezdogs when I am settled :)

I have the S&P TD-100X: http://www.lightingdirect.com/soler-and-palau-td-100x-4-100mm-inline-mixed-flow-duct-fan/p934766 (This site ships to canada :headbange) I did not realize they had a TD-125, or else I would have gotten that one since it is 5 inches and that is the same size as the DR80 tent holes, the extra flow would have also been nice. The TD-100X is barely cutting it right now (temps normally get up to 78-80, however with my current disabled fan its up to 82 in one spot of the canopy), however I have quite a few turns in my ducting so the slow is far from optimal. I also made a 24inch exhaust silencer which probably inhibits flow even further.
The S&P fans are supposedly the quietest fans you can get, but I was still surprised that it made enough noise that I couldn't handle it in my bedroom closet. I ended up getting insulated ducting and building the exhaust silencer similar to this one: http://www.gardenscure.com/420/do-yourself-projects/138045-diy-inline-fan-muffler.html

When I was ordering my carbon filter I was looking at the size of the CAN9000 and that is why I went with the Phresh filter. I know that pushing through the filter is worse. I am not sure if it is just because it is less efficient, or if it will actually burn out your fan sooner as well. The ICG is really stinky when I have the tent open, but no scent whatsoever in the closet or room with the filter running, gotta love carbon filters :)

Thanks for taking the time to answer my newbie questions! =) I think I'll wait till the rest of my gear arrives and try to make do with what I've got, at this point I don't really care if the axial fans burn themselves out blowing through the carbon filter. I'll replace the fans with something more efficient when the need arises. I'm not much of a DIY kind of guy so I'm kind of stuck buying commercial stuff and my budget is just about spent, especially after spending 3x more on seeds than I had planned. =( I just want to say this again, I really appreciate you answering my questions! Stay safe!

edit: Seems you sneaked in an update while I was posting. Your ladies look sweet!

Looking good buddy,
Certainly isnt goin to take alot of training to fill that Screen, id be looking at flipping around another week id say, you know how many tops per plant you want. Get 50% on that screen before you flip n you'll be good. theres little chance of it getting otta hand then, & youve checked out the pinching/crushing tec, stops laterals in their tracks. As soon as you start training that screen will fill fast.
G'Luck bro!

Well I finally switched the timer!, and here is a picture towards the end of day1 of flowering (3/4/11) The plants seemed to really shoot up today after their first night with 12 hours of darkness. I will be giving them an ewc/kelp/molasses tea tomorrow as the soil was almost dry enough today.

I pulled a couple of the lower leaves off each of the plants.

How do you guys recommend I do the pruning, should I pull the leaves and the small lower bud developments slowly each day, or is it better to do 1 or 2 larger trimmings instead?

Hey trick,
Start from the bottom up bro, take a few leaves(handfull) everyday, that will minimise stress some, as appossed to doing one big pruning which would cause much more stress.
Any lower branches(usually the bottom few node sets) that you think aint gonna make it to the screen, remove those. They will just leach energy from the Top, where you want it. You'll see whats in shade & isnt going to make it bro.
Looking good matey!

The stretch will kick in properly in a couple of days i guess. You can see by now what branch/lateral is going to go where, work outwards. I push the larger Colas to the outside of the screen, leaving the smaller branches to fill in the inside(this will help equalise the canopy height a little). Just think ahead, you'll be able to see viable/potential Colas by now & the swag that will need removing under the screen. Prune(lightly) under the screen over the next week, you should have most of it out by then, i do a further prune if its needed then just after the stretch has finished, around 21-28 days after the flip to 12/12.
I try not to touch them after that point, no stress.

Looks like its gonna fill in nicely! G'Luck bro!

Does anyone have any suggested small fans to put inside the tent? Preferably with a clip. The cheapo china fan I have is already dieing, its flowing less air and making a bit of friction noise. The temps have gotten up to 82 degrees at the canopy above the back right of the screen with the decrease flow.
I am currently using a 6" Growbright clip on fan. It has two speeds, but I only use the higher.
http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-Growbright-6-Inch-Clip-On-Fan.asp
The nearby hydro shop also has been using one in their display tent for over a year...but they didn't even sell it so I had to order it online.

It's quieter and blows significantly more air than the PC fan that I also have running. For comparison, the PC fan is supposed to have 77cfm airflow ,33.23dBA noise, and dimensions 120mmx120mm

-Scrogerman, Thanks for the pruning suggestions. I was surprised to see that all 4 ladies are already showing pistils. I am not used that happening, however I am not used to vegging this long either :)

-D9_THC, thanks for the tip on the fan, I am going to check a few local stores one last time for clip on's, but if I have to order online I will definitely go with the Growbright. Good to know they outflow that fairly powerful pc fan.

Well here are two more pics taken last night as the lights came on for Day5. I haven't really done any pruning or trimming yet, I need to get on that :)

Lookin' good tr1ck! The ladies sure do look happy. My seeds arrived yesterday but until my pH/TDS pen arrives (I ordered it 2 weeks ago and the tracking number says it's still in Houston) I don't dare start any since I want to do DWC. Give those girls a haircut! :) Stay safe!

Your nearly ready for a training session then bro? looking good, a little prune might be a good idea, take it easy though.
Can you see the branches final resting place yet? Id prolly start pulling the bigger ones back now myself, they look big enough. looks more like a matter of repositioning to gain space n height.

Day 11: Well here are the shots today right as the lights came on. I have been continuing to trim a little bit from them each day, although I am trimming much more from the front because its easier :)

I have also been tying down all of the tallest branches and taping them to the pots trying to keep a fairly even canopy. SCRoG really is fun, you have so much control!
