Hey Space nice job. One question, you going to trim any of those lower branches? That second pic from the 17th looked like they needed it. You had some tied down I saw.

Thanks Hank, I want to trim as little as possible to see how productive the lower stuff can be, this is just a mother hunting run ya know. and then based on that I will trim accordingly for subsequent runs of clones...

now that I've got some free space, I think I'll start some blue sat 2.2s and see what they're all about... alls I know is that the high produced by blueberry (for me at least) is hard to beat... so I'm pretty stoked...

correct me if im wrong but blue sat 2.2 is {[blueberry sativa x (sweet pink grapefruit x blueberry)] x [blueberry sativa x (sweet pink grapefruit x blueberry)]}

so it should resemble sweettooth in some respects... well at least from examining it's genetic heritage...

yeah blueberry is something special... I plan on doing some breeding with the 2.2's and the boggle, that should produce some very interesting specimens... I think the bogglegum genes will bump up the yield of the blue and hopefully shorten the flowering time while maintaining the awesome feeling of warmth and well-being that the blueberry genes produce.

Hey Friend! how ya been? Two of the plants have that distinct grape odor in the resin(which i'm very happy about!), no real smell in the room yet... another plant has a earthy-piney but sweet smell and the last has a subtle sweet general fruity odor

Thanks for stopping by and you should stick around for the real fun!

Everything is going as planned, ramping up the flowering nutes and tapering off the fish emulsion, still using the same ammount of epsum salts for now....

kick back and enjoy the show!

Hey SpaceGhost! FIrstly your earlier *crickets* wise crack i thought was very funny i actually snickered to myself..

Very very nice BOGs man, im tuned into this one as its the next strain i would like to grow out. Your babies look awesome im sure ur gona have a party come harvest time.

Hey one question i have for u if u dont mind.. Epsom Salts... How often and in what quantity do u feed your plants the salts? And also do u just top dress it in soil or do u premix it into water? I use them also and i have been applying 1 teaspoon per 3 gallon bag top dressed into soil at week 4.. Any tips for a nooblet here? Could i get more out of the Epsom Salts by using them more often or whatever? Or is there a point of diminishing returns and / or toxicity issues with too much use? I do notice the plants REALLY perk up after u hit them with this though.

THanks and all the best Space.. Cool name btw

Thanks CHronito, to keep these gals healthy and happy you need to give them an absurd amount of epsum salt, enough that it could actually hurt other strains (well just about...)

In early veg they will start asking for it with classic symptoms, and that's when I begin to apply at the rate of 1 teaspoon/gallon of water AND feeding mix, so on top of the veg nutes, give them epsum still (I primarily use alaskan fish emulsion 5-1-1 for veg)

In late veg and during flowering stretch, i give them 1.5teaspoons/gal of water and feeding mix

Then in bloom i switch back to 1 teaspoon/gal anytime i give them anything... (mostly a mix of the alaskan and earth juice bloom 0-3-1) Approx 2-3 weeks from harvest I cut the salt out entirely...

The only other piece of advice that I can give you is make sure your water has been set out for at least 24 hrs prior to watering or feeding as this plant is rather sensitive to chlorine, and as with any plant keep your pH in check (although this plant will thrive over a wide band of pH)

any other questions?

EDIT: one more thing, make sure the epsum salts are completely dissolved in the water before an application, vigorous stirring works fine, but measuring out the teaspoon or whatever and putting it in a small electric coffee grinder (you know, the cylindrical ones with the clear plastic tops that you push down on) works best, but be careful, although non-toxic, epsum salt it a very potent laxative! doesn't taste too good either.... lol

Wowaweewaaa, So if im not mistaken you are giving them Epsum salts everytime u water / feed? So even for non BOG strains i could feed them more than once with the epsums? Ive got Nirvanas indoor fem mix at moment with mix of genetics do u think i should use more epsums? Anything to make fatter buds im down with ya know..

Thanks for the water sitting tip too i have a 75 litre reservoir in my room so the water has always sat for a few days before application.

Oh man i cant wait to grow BOG.. Have u grown any other BOG strains?

cheers

Correct, every time i give them anything, it's got salt in it... I wouldn't recommend giving that much salt to other strains, but in smaller applications (i usually do 1/2teaspoons every other watering) it's an insanely cheap and effective way to provide Mg and S because thats literally all it is....

the product cal-mag is a ripoff IMO unless your using well water or R/O'ed water that has no Ca in it, but if you're using tap water, there is absolutely no reason to bother with the product...

EDIT: about your fatter buds comment: hydrated MgSO4 (or epsum salt) is not a bloom stimulant, it is just something that every plant needs so by keeping the plant healthy i guess the buds will turn out bigger and healthier, but that attributed to over all plant health, not the salt directly...

Ahh i see thankyou kind Sir for your time and clear answers, much appreciated! Il be hanging around for a while me thinks i wana see how the gals turn out for you.

I think il up my epsum intake on a few testers in the garden and see how it goes. I just gave them a dose literally 2 days ago and they loved it, leaves were pointed straight up within about a few hours, and i could just tell by looking at them they were loving the epsums.

take care space
