1st grow...2K soil in 5gal buckets

a standard 1k will cover 16 sq ft 4x4, but with certain hoods like a XXL you can cover 20-25...but there has been debate about how the 5x5 hoods might cover more space but have less lumens per sq foot. in the hood test thread the blockbuster 4x4 had some of the best lumen coverage. and my friends get 1lb out of a 4x4 all the time with 9-10 plants.

thanx guys....week 5 is coming up and ill def be posting more pics. as for the genetics im sure i have some bubbas, master kush and some g13s in there. the problem is i didnt label them when i first got them so i dont really know which is which...

yea definately wanna label, some strains you can tell without labelling, i can spot OG kush from eye, but just grab a pack of stickers from walmart for a buck fifty, and a sharpie. makes things much easier when running different strains, especially when pheno hunting.

thanx prop definitely will do that next run. i have a question about feeding. i water every other day and everytime i water i put the nutes in it. is that okay? or am i giving too much nutes?

thats too much....i only use nutes 1 out of every 3 waterings. but all plants are different....if you see any nute burn on your leaves then bring it back. but i would suggest starting with low ppm and working up, not burning it and dialing nutes back...

yea i believe 4 of them have nute burn and ive been giving them nothing but water. hope they get better. my friend said i might not be mixing the feed well enough so some of them may have been getting extra dosages.

yea i thought so too but then i keep readin about waiting for the leaves to brown off and die before i do anything? does that hold true?

also ive seen tiny bugs flying around on top of the soil. any idea how to fix that?

Those are probably fungus gnats but it's too late to really do much about them now. If your plants are ready to harvest the calyx's should be swollen and mostly all the pistils withered and changing color to orange or red. The trichomes should be at least cloudy and not all crystal clear although you may want to wait until they start going from cloudy to more amber if you want a more sedative narcotic stone from the buds. Plants look good man glad you made it this far your first time because many people don't even get buds first time around!

Also if you are not sure they are ready, then wait a week!

Hey Sheesh those are some nice girls! wish i had ladies that looked that good on my first grow... good lord the horror ;-)

i am interested in hearing what your final pull was.. you said you had 20 girls per 1kw, and those are big girls too! maybe getting 20-30 hrs of sunlight each week added a nice lumen boost & fresh air, although you are definitely lucky you didnt bring a bunch of bugs into ur grow room.
