I agree- scrog would probably go a little better than SOG with just t5s- then the light penetration is a non issue (though it would be more work perhaps for your boy). 6500 are supposed to be vegging spectrum- 3000 bloom, however, you could put both in there and get a more complete spectrum for flowering, then you cover all the bases. at aquarium shops they also have 4000 k. My 250 watt HPS SOG were flowered out straight from rooted clone- they might have been 4" or so- as soon as I saw roots sticking out of the rapid rooters and some fresh new growth, they were potted and moved. That didn't stop them from getting pretty leggy though. This next SOG with the same strains will end up probably 8" or more by the time my man takes them off my hands (he's quite enjoying not having to look after anything right now) They could have gone last week but they still hidin out in my closet... this weekend it will be a month of veg. The flowering cab, overall is about 72" tall- very stealth, its a classy looking closet to be honest- the HPS light (but not the external ballast) the fan, and the phat carbon filter are all housed inside the cab, suspended above the grow area- which is about 3' tall or so with adjustable light hangers so they can be lowered or raised easily enough. Its a pretty standard wardrobe size that could be found at homedepot, walmart, etc etc. if you didn't open the doors, you'd have no idea it were even there.

so what is it that has you looking at t5's versus, say a 150 or 250 w hps? Myself, I've considered trying out a little flowering grow with a 150 instead of flowering under the t5. I guess I figure I'd get better yeild for the power consumption but perhaps I'm biased now?

Balance nice pictures, yes you can grow nugs under T5 And med88, I think genetics are a large party of any quality if you grow it right it'll be alright.:smoweed:

Yeah nice pics balance, I see you have the lights t-p'd... Good thinking

Question though... What strain are those? Lemon? Furthermore, how many lights in each of those two fixtures and any additional lighting? When did you switch lights(flower) how tall were they? Also lol were those nugs decently tight or airy?

And for everyones info ... Blue is crucial during flowering for quality. Yes the red gives you fatties but the blue adds the quality ... Think about it cause all the big dawgs say you need both.

Maybe something to try would be using all blue during the last 2 weeks or so of flowering to add quality?

Thanks for the kudo's, let me answer your questions.
The strain was a mix pack from CannaBioGen, same grow in my sig.
Each four foot light has four 54watt HO bulbs, 3500K. I did have a small compact flourescent for a shorter male that wasn't pictured.
I vegged for six weeks, final height was 3 1/2' - 4'.
The bud was decently compact, however an indica would be better for tight nugs.

I only use the T5's for the summer months when I want less heat, just like to show what can be done with them. In fact I'm doing another this summer:

Have Fun.
