Oregon or Washington-Which has the better MMJ Laws?

Speaking of taxes, WA has a truly bizarre B&O (Business and Occupation) tax code.

washington requires dr. records from last three years, not hard to get a card if you're legit.
sales tax sucks but no income tax.
we live outside seattle, there are people tucked away in every thicket and dale, and traffic is constant, but that shouldn't alter your decision.
i wouldn't be too excited about making a $ from the plant though, you need connections...can't just walk into a room and make cold sales ya know?

Got records for the past 16 years if a doc want to see em.
No state income tax is a plus.
Not worried about making a buck off the plant either. But thanks for the info

Appreciate all the info guys.

I have never lived in Oregon or Washington, so take this for what its worth. But I had a friend in a similar situation to yours, and he recently decided to move to Vancouver, WA for tax reasons. He was saying he got the benefit of living in WA and having no income tax, but then he does all of his shopping right across the river in Portland for no sales tax. He absolutely loves the area and weather, and completely fell in love with the place.

I was born in Oregon, have lived in Cali and Wash. You can have both of them. Oregon is the place to be. Might not be able to sell your pot like it seems people want to do, but if you want a laid back place where meds card holders help each other out without all the BS you get in Cali about it being "Cali" and it doesnt rain 366 days out of the year like it does in Wash and yes I meant to say 366 because it rains so fucking much in Wash that it counts for an extra day, then oregon is the place to be.

Well, there are two sides of WA. Eastern WA is not the desert eastern OR is but there are definitely seasons there.

Seattle gets a rain shadow from the Olympic mountains so it really doesn't rain as much as it drizzles here.

it seems pretty chill up in wash, 15 plants per script...theres a shortage of good indoor bud up there, lots of commercial beasters, kind of a price ceiling though hard to get more than 3 no matter how good it is. lots of cops and police agencies in the seattle area, asian gangs. the area is generally confusing to get around and cookie cutter suburb look town after town...but not to hard to blend in.

only thing i cant dig about washington is the rain...makes outdoors damn near impossible.

i love to grow outdoor and indoor so OR might be a better fit....you can pull a nice crop during the outdoor season to cover most of your bills, then run an indoor lab to your liking not worrying about covering expenses every crop. i throw a dozen different strains in a tray just because i already made enough money on outdoor i can afford to grow my own smoke lol...

one thing i consistently hear about oregon is that its hard to sell LBs locally, everyone else already grows...

wa 15 per card any life stage and you don't have to register your grower like In or, and in Oregon you can have like 8 in flower and 7 in veg Vice versa. But for non card holders in or anything less then a zip is a ticket and civil matter.

If you run a greenhouse with supplemental lighting and blackout your greenhouse during the summer months you will get nasty nasty buds. Great harvests too. You try to grow your plants say southern oregon style and use only natural sun it will not work in WA. To much rain and even when no rain the day might be gloomy. BUT it can be done and done good. Plus it is easy to move weight,as long as it is top shelf herb u can still get 8 for a Q...sometimes 9 at the right spot

Really? Where? I'm visiting my boy in Seattle right now. Just made the rounds with him as an observer yesterday! Went to about 4 of his regular spots before one of them finally made him an acceptable offer. Everyone was flooded with outdoor and b grade indoor. My buddy had some A+ urkle and worked hard to get 2800 from a place he's been working with for a year I guess. Most places only wanted to do a qp at a time and even then only offered 650. So what gives? I've been smoking this stuff myself all week and it's fire in every way. I think 6-7/q & 20-24/p is a bit more accurate of what you can expect if you donate to co-ops. If I lived here I would figure something else out like starting my own delivery service or ???. Scene seems beat down for growers compared to other med states IME. Shops are slaying it though I bet.

The limit in Oregon is 6 per patient in bloom and 18 in veg.

washington for sure....myself, my wife and my son all have cards

we are a legal co-op growing 45 plants in our house all in one spot ....we can have 78 ounces of product legally too

we can "donate" our overages to any mmj store

Patients can band together in washington legally forming co-ops min. of 3 people... max of 10 people.... max of 45 plants

we are averaging 15 pounds a crop :)
