i just harvested 8 iced g from my box...you will extra high in a few months! may favourite plant was right in between an ice and a grapefruit. the smell and trich coverage are top notch, best of both worlds

edit: everything looks swell, looking forward to a full screen!

If you're not too deep into training you might try modular scrog, ala VerdantGreen. Check out his threads here! He runs a small cab, simultaneous multiple strains, and scrog to boot! Oh, and he pulls weight. :)

From looking at my plants are you able to tell which way the pheno's tend to lean? They all look almost identical to me, I was thinking I would have more indica/sativa variation, but they all look so darn close, at least to my untrained eye :) These plants are already the stinkiest plants I have grown, and they aren't even flowering yet! I have very high hopes.

I definitely thought about modular scrog, however I wasn't able to come up with any very good ideas for attaching screens to the rootbuilder/airpots. I am going to stick with this single large screen for this run, however I am definitely open to ideas for converting for next round!

The plant stem can hold the screen up while you tether the sides to the pot. The tethers will keep the screen from tilting to the side. Might not work so great with spindly plants but I've used it to good effect on a fairly stocky sativa (a south african).

Your plants look very similar at this point but over the next few weeks you'll start noticing more differences. :) What is it you're looking for? Plant structure, taste, smell, high?

Well since I will not be taking mothers or clones from any of these plants I was actually hoping to get a bit of variety. I was hoping for some decent yields on all of them, as well as some fairly potent smoke. Hopefully I can get a few different tastes/smells. It would also be cool if one plant really leaned towards ice so I could have some nice nighttime smoke. I imagine I will be more than happy with whatever I end up with though :dance013:

Tr1ck, I actually stared 4 more IG from seed about a week ago, because, well, you never know, so I'll be growing multiple individuals along with you.

Your grow is looking very good.

K. These are all F1 and seem fairly uniform so far. If they stay this way through flower i'd put money that the high will be mosty the same too. I'm sure you'll get some variation this run but you might wanna reveg and reverse a few. Or maybe reverse one now? The most variation will be had in the next few generations and you might find something stellar! :) You could also let one of them ripen up real good and stoney, too. So far they look great though! good luck with the rest of the grow!

I bought a bunch of other beans at the same time, so I will just cross my fingers that these give me some good smoke, and then try a diff strain next time :joint:

Looking good man! Can you try to explain how you made the screen? Is it just a square made of pvc? What are you using as the "string"? Stay safe!

Hopefully you are able to create a grow diary for your setup, it would be fun to see what the 250 can do in a tent!

I just got (4) 1/2'' CPVC corners, and 1 of the long 1/2'' CPVC rods from Menards. I also grabbed a spool of cotton string. I then measured every string to be roughly 2 inches apart, and tied everything down. I then ran a strip of duct tape across each side to hold the string in place better.

I then tied each corner of the screen to one of the corner supports of the tent, this allows it to slide up and down. I then just used a piece of duct tape on each corner support to lock it into the position I want.

There are probably lots of better ways to go about this screen, but this was cheap quick and easy :)

Looking good trick man,
How long are you gonna veg? they look V-Squat & Indica in structure, how many tops/colas are you going for per plant?
I like using green plastic Garden Mesh for the screen, comes in 2"x2"approx(squares) & 1.25-1.5meters wide, can get any size length, i got a bargain & paid about £3-4 a meter, good strong stuff, can find it at most country Hardware/gardening centres, Country/farmers suppliers.

Its good stuff if you can find it, saves time & hassle, good n strong when staple nailed under tension, just thought id show an easy use material.(hope ya dont mind the pic bro) gotta luv the ScrOG!

Best o Luck.:ying:

That plastic screen would have saved me an hour of tying strings haha, oh well its over and done with now. Hopefully HippyDan catches this and saves himself some time :)

I think I am going to put them into flowering sometime in the next few days. I am afraid that they might stretch a lot since they are from seed. I would rather end up a little too small than have an overflowing jungle.

I think I will probably do like 9-12 cola's per plant as well. This is my first time with a screen so I will be playing it by ear though. Does this sound about right based upon your experience?

Yeah the Garden Mesh is good, lasts for multiple grows & more, doesnt off-gass, does the business, definately my screen of choice when it comes to it!(pulls n fixes nice n tight/springy)

With Indica Doms i try to fill 80-90% of the screen before i flip 12/12, then use the stretch to fill the remaining 10-20%(prolly 10% depending on how Indica dom they are). Most Indicas dont stretch very much as you'll know, maybe try to find out offa others who have grown out the strain, find out roughly what your looking at, could be 20% could be a 50% stretch, but doubtfully any more with the Indi dom, you could do with a rough idea there, but imo fill the screen up a bit(80% will give you leaway), then hit 12/12. What Size Colas are you after, i aim for 10-18" depending on strain/situation etc. If you flip too early, the screen would be nothing more than a support, rather than its intended use as a training aid,(like stabilisers on a kiddies bike as i refer to).

Your Numbers of 8 to 12 tops per plant for Indica dom is perfect in that little tent/cab. The more colas/tops the smaller the Buds will be & vice versa. I find Sati doms still produce well with many more tops psm(m2), i aim for 60 - 70 with Sati doms(my prefered ratio is 70% sativa Dom 30% Indica), but with Indica doms id be aiming much lower, say 30-40 tops (m2). I have found Indica doms dont like being trained as much as their Sati sisters, but it all depends on what you want. Sounds like you have a good plan anyway bro! Ill be along for the ride!

'Dam it!!!, i explained myself much better the first time around(typicle), before the kids came in, screaming the house down!

G'Luck Bro! & Happy Scroggin!

Thanks for the tips, I will give them a bit more time before flowering so they can fill the screen out more. I have topped all the plants once, they all got 2 main cola's except for the back right plant, it ended up getting 3.

Hey tr1ck, thanks for responding! I'll definitely get a grow diary going as soon as everything arrives and I can start putting things together. I am thinking about going with a vertical 250w so I may try to do heavy LST in place of a screen but I'm still not 100% on this. I don't want to plan too far ahead considering my equipment hasn't arrived yet! Can't wait to see your ladies once you switch to 12/12.

I know there is a lot of buzz around about going vertical, but with a DR60 and only a 250w I would really suggest you just use a standard hood. You will get more than enough yield, and it should be much easier. Not to mention its also better for your eyes when you can open your tent without looking directly into an uncovered/unprotected HPS bulb from 12 inches away lol.

Either way you should have great luck with your setup though!

Does anyone have any suggested small fans to put inside the tent? Preferably with a clip. The cheapo china fan I have is already dieing, its flowing less air and making a bit of friction noise. The temps have gotten up to 82 degrees at the canopy above the back right of the screen with the decrease flow.

Wish I could help you out, but I'm having fan problems too! Some of my equipment arrived today and when I tried out the 4" axial fans they were waaaay louder than I had expected. Totally fine if stealth isn't an issue, as I picked them up pretty cheap (25$ each). Definitely going to stick around and see what others have to say!

I've been on the fence between vertical bulb and getting a hood and going traditional horizontal style, the problem is finding one that fits inside my 23 7/8" x 23 7/8" footprint comfortably. I figured I could always try vertical first and save the 100+ dollars.

PS: If stealth isn't an issue, I'd recommend an axial fan or two as they are pretty cheap and while they don't move tons of air (my 4" axials are only rated 80CFM) like a blower, I think it'd be fine considering the confined space inside the cab.
