weird splotchy leaves... cant identify! please help!

hey all. hope all is well around the world. i currently have some chem plants that have this weird deficiency that i've never encountered before. just wondering if anyone has seen this before while growing in coco (or not).

using soft tap water at about 80ppm plus-
sensi cal/mag grow
pro tek silica
cannazyme
canna coco a+b
ph at 5.8-5.9
plus rizotonic as a folier spray

ppms reach around 800-900 and the plants look great other than these random splotches. my guess is a cal/mag deficiency but im wondering im possibly its a ph problem and could possibly need a flush.

There is a questionaire most people fill out when posting to the infirmary, it would really help if you did the same.

im asking if anyone can identify the deficiency not the flaw in my growing. but if there is anything specific you would like to know, please dont hesitate to ask

Yep, you'll get a lot of help with that attitude. And I know for sure what's wrong with your plant.

all this bickering and backbiting...you'd never know we shared similar cultural aspects...

your 'flaw in growing' just happens to be the deficiency. see?

Flower some humility.

Can't tell what's up in the 2nd and 3rd pics. Probably nothing to worry about (unless it gets worse.) Mg def starts at the tip and Ca def usually looks like rust. You've got a tiny bit of inter-veinal type chlorosis but it's not consistent with Mg def.

Heat stress can cause leaves to curl upward, not unlike the 1st and 4th pics. If the curl is higher up on the plant(s), I'd lower your temps. I'd also consider filling out the form. The more questions you answer, the better chance you'll get a good tip.

I wouldn't flush unless it's a last resort kind of thing. But then I don't know what medium you're growing in so...

Rhizotonic as a foliar? isn't that a root stimulant? That could be causing your leaf curl.

With cal mag it's unlikely that you have a mag def.

From the alternation of fan leaves it looks like you're at least in a late veg.

I see no pre-flowers or excessive branching so it looks like you haven't switched to 12/12.

The yellowing is inter-veinal, which suggests nutes to me rather than heat stress, which tends to manifest first on the edges.

There is no necrosis, which suggests nitrogen def rather than P, K, or micro, though this early in the game it's hard to tell.

Nitro is my best guess since it appears you are late in veg and hence likely demanding a lot of leaf growth. ph could be an issue, or ppm.

Is your provided ppm the ppm when mixed or ppm when it is applied?

Anyone agree / disagree?

i've never had a problem using rhizo as a foliar. i know plenty of people who swear by it and im pretty sure it has the directions for
a foliar spray, right on the bottle so i dont think that could be the issue...

hey hydroid, thanks for the response. The ppms i provided are at the time of being mixed and when applied. does that makes sense?

Alright, you've had the problem for ~two weeks and you changed up your mix two weeks ago. Look back and see if you can remember what you've done differently than the first four weeks.

IMO, your curl might be a combination of foliar spray and the fans. Just a guess.

Ok, so it's being used as directed.:) Since sprays can affect curl, try different strengths. You might also try one plant with no spray. A very fine mist might be better than wetting down.

Maybe you are using too much cal mag and locking out the nitrogen? Try reducing the calmag since most tap water has quite a bit in it.

hmmmm, here's something you can do to try to see if you need to flush.

Prepare a quart or so of ph 7.0 water and record the ppm in the solution after it has been ph'd.

scoop 1/4 cup of coco / perlite medium out of one of the affected pots.

soak that 1/4 cup of medium in 1 cup of prepared 7.0 solution for 10 - 20 minutes, stirring often.

filter solution of substrate, making sure to press as much water out as possible.

Now you have a representative sample of what your substrate actually contains. Measure the ppm and ph of the solution. If they are wack (most likely, if something is wrong, this will mean very high ppm, very low ph), you know you need to flush.

Basically, this should take 30 mins and do no harm, and possibly supply some useful information.

it has nothing to do with the foliar spray nothing at all. ive ran this same set up before and without problem

i feel like it does have something to do with that cal/mag just not sure if this is it... but hey! i got more pics taken today so hopefully these will be a little bit more helpful....
