River Phoenix's dogs were vegan (not by choice). just thought I'd throw that piece of irrelevant info. in :D

A science teacher once pointed out to us 'hippies' that people have canine teeth for a reason. The ecology of vegan-ism however is notable and credible in societies that tend to ignore the natural function of the world. All round, with the addition of wild meats,, the vegan-way is a healthier and more conscious way of living

We're talking on this thread about ways to use plants grown at home to make them into nutes at home too. See earlier in the thread for more details.

Nettle Tea = natural source of Nitrogen, Magnesium, Calcium, and Iron. It takes about 3-4 days to reach an EC of 0.8 suitable for mild feeding. Just make sure to remove all the insects to be sure the tea is vegan..lol

Seriously ALWAYS replace caterpillars and insects back into nature when collecting nettles and other wild products folks :D

A thermal compost product that is available in the PNW is made from the following according to the label on the bag: Organic Dairy Manure, Organic Grasses, spent organic shitake plugs and organic produce

Fair enough this wouldn't be acceptable to the vegan growers but regardless each and every time that I open a bag of this product (1.5 c.f. pack size) there are several hundred red wiggler worms and even more cocoons.

Then there's the deal with the earthworms that should be present in huge numbers if you're applying plant-based manures, mulches, etc. If they see a pile of EWC on the top of the soil does that send them into a tizzy?

Regardless - the products from a vegan farm could not be sold as 'Certified Organic' unless that farm went through a certification process with a registered agency. It's not like farmers roll up to a produce warehouse in a beater pick-up truck and announce "I dun gotz sum organic spuds! Wanna buy em?"

Great for growing your own food but a worthless venture if you intend to sell your product. Even the organic produce at the farmer's markets in Oregon must be from certified Oregon Tilth gardens and farms.

Cute group though. Nothing better than dealing with pissed-off vegetarians. Vegetarians themselves can be annoying enough and especially when listening to them piss all over each other about who's the 'purest vegetarian' with the whole ova-lacto crowd and the other branches, blah, blah, blah, blah..........

I need a hankie!
