I did a vert last run and it was awesome. Im running 2 600 vert in a 5x5x10. I have 15 diferant strains going all Indica dom. I noticed much bigger buds lower on the branch with better penetration

Just purchased a new hood to replace my old one. LOL

Still plan on going vertical sometime this year, but I have my harvests set up monthly at the moment and a tear-down just seems wrong when things are flowing so smoothly in my room.

Some of those dudes in the vert section really hit it out of the park though and I can't wait to join them.

just remember when you veg vertically you want the tip of the bulb at or slightly above the tops, especially on indica dom plants cause they will grow sideways otherwise...

I'm not convinced, tried it out, didn't like it, switched back to hoods, by request from the plants, they said they didn't like it.... now they grow strong again.......

are you listening to your plants?.....or your scale?.....

Vert is not for everyone but experiment and find out yourself... Don't cook you skin on the bulbs and wear shades! All the best.

^^^^ yea that :)

I'm always willing to try new things, and since I started with hoods, perhaps i'm just used to it, I found that vert bulbs made the plants to leggy.....and the buds fluffier.......

most gardens are differant. I had hard nugs all over genetics will play a role here. I got over 2oz from a 18" plant

it is for everyone... just like horizontal is for everyone... just different and higher yielding guaranteed.

It seems to be the answer for those with plant limits. Like me :)

actually the highest yielding gpw grows are high plant count vertical colosseums...

but yea works great for low numbers too...

they need to be further from the bulb. what were your temps... humidity.. strain...

what was your set up like?

all im sayin is whenever a horizontal gardener finally gets vertical dialed they never go back its a different outlook at growing for sure though

i prefer flat gardens for ease of working in and setup but vert is much better for fewer bigger plants although even @ 4 plants per light horizontal does well...,

oh yes ill add this .... with vert there is far less popcorn. ever seen rockhard high quality "tops" protruding off the stem like 1mm above the medium? amazing.

Add a parabolic reflector (very cheap), and you will get even better results. Why waste all that light on the ceiling?

When growing vert do you still trim the lower branches like you do growing horizontally?

When growing vert - instead of trimming the bottom (which won't get light in a horizontal grow because of the dense canopy above) - you trim the back sides of the plant (which won't get light in a vertical grow because the bulb is on the other side of the plant.)

If you have a small enough garden turning the pots is no big deal. the light that emits from the top and end of the bulb are pretty much useless. A Vertical bulb emits all of the light to the sides 360 deg it is hung much lower then Horizontal
