dissolving maxibloom

how the hell do you dissolve this stuff?

iv been mixing into a gallon jug of water and shake like hell let it sit over night but still get these white flaks in the bottom of my res when i add it.

What IF i took a strainer to filter out the white stuff when adding it to my res will this be okay?

I've been using Maxibloom for a while, I just take a large canning jar, you could use a mayonnaise or pickle jar, fill it half full of very warm water and add the MB and shake. It dissolves almost instantly. When I try it with COLD water, it does take forever. :) I would think really hot water would be best but I don't know what the heat would do to the salts.. Prob nothing.
I never see the flakes, the warm/hot water prolly takes care of it.
hope it helps.. don't give up on MB it is fantastic stuff for the price. 'ALMOST' all you need. I do Hempys but I've used it in DWC with no problems , just results.

Straining it is crazy, watch your concentration the water can only hold so much it's like sugar in coffee if you go crazy and add too much it will be in the bottom of the cup at 1 to 1 1/4 tsp it's never given me a problem but at about a tablespoon per gal I'm shaking it a lot

I use a 1gal milk jug filled half way with hot water for the first shake then top with room temp water shake a bit more as I go,,, I thought about a dedicated $20 blender but it's just not worth it as the dilution increases so will the absorption or dissolve rate in the end it gets were its going and I always take a pH & ppm read if it was shockingly low I'd shake it some more but that never happens . Don't over complicate this !

Mind sharing your watering schedule with 1tsp/gal MB and hempys? :joint:

I use MB @ 1/tsp-gal and use room temp water. It shakes up in about three minutes and is ready to go. The cold water makes it hard to break down, but it can be done with more mixing. I've not gone above this amount of MB in both veg & bloom, so I've got no idea what it does at a higher ratio.
@onthaherb-I do this in hempys too and feed/water every two days.

buy Floranova Bloom, a liquid solution that breaks down with a simple stir in any temp water. it has almost exactly what maxibloom has in it and comes ph balanced. sometimes im so lucky with that stuff i dont even have to use any PH adjustments because it usually hits 5.8 by itself.

never been a fan of dry nutes.

honestly though Floranova Bloom is much easier to use, for me personally and has yielded better results.

Floranova Bloom is a splendid product I have used it in the past mixed to Lucas Spec's only drawbacks are a manufacturer recommended 1 year shelf life and a constant uncertainty if you actually got that thick & heavy liquid shook enough in the bottle .

Well you have the MB so no need to switch to Flora, you just got to get the mixing down with a little warm water you will love it I'm sure. Ya might have to sup with some Cal-mag or something similar but other than that it rocks on its own. You'll see

i can't really dissolve all of it - either.

just been hucking it all in there and try to stir with my hand if it's too chunky.

not been a problem.

I just mix it in a 2 litter with it half filled with res water.shake the hell out of it for about 2 min.dump it in my res and then add ph up.there's still stuff in the bottom of the 2 litter when i go to pour it in the res.i really don't worry about it though.:)every thing turns out just like it should.

With an inexpensive cord/cordless drill can buy a paint mixing attachment at the local hardware store for less than $7 - Use this with your drill on high for a minute in a proper container and you will be good to go...

ok, I never tried 'hot' tap water before today. I always used warm and it mixed ok. Just now I used it hot from the tap in a 4 ltr milk jug half full, (thanks Saran) 20g of MB and within 3 or 4 shakes it was totally and completely dissolved. dumped that in my mixing bucket to about 12 ltrs, quick stir. After letting it set for a few minutes I was expecting to see a crumb or two on the bottom.. but nothing.
You folks that want to save a little $ and still get an excellent and simple to use nute, ya really can't beat MB, just don't over complicate it, mix it use it.

I hope I'm qualified to answer.. there are many here that are :)

I've done a few runs with hempys

I always water/feed my hempys till a get a few oz of runoff. ( MB is cheep :) I'm not sure you need to though, but certainly till it runs out.. thats what the hole is for. I use all perlite and let them get a tad 'light' before I soak em again. right or wrong it works for me.

I use a few drops of Magical (BC Stuff) same as calmag I think?? Not sure I need the cal cause my tapwater is hard but I've noticed a little mag lacking, the def never really hurt them but it took that lush green healthy look from the bottom leaves, I don't like the brown edges. Does that make sense?
If you are using the flora line I don't think a bit of calmag can hurt.

Damn.. reading back I doubt I helped much. I tend to babble

Just maxi and cal/mag.

I try to shoot for no run off but I think that is giving me problems.

I need more mag than cal but if the mag goes to long I need cal

I use a small pump in a pail.

I use a small pump in a pail.

I usually do add-backs to my rez 5 gallons at a time. I have a 5 gal home depot bucket. I fill it with water, I put in the MB. Toss in the pump and let the pump stir it up for a few minutes. Works a charm.

I agree that MB and some Cal-Mag is all u need.
