An American billion is different from a British billion? What the fuck? I have it on good authority that a billion is a thousand millions..... period...... (OR a million thousands OR 10 million hundreds OR 100 million tens OR 10**9 scientistically).........EVERYWHERE........ a base 10 decimal system is used, and that includes England.

the only reason the current view came about is because the french can't count. And sadly the americans (being a rather unruly lot at the time) decided that they didn't like being ruled by england anymore, and england decided that amerca wasn't worth fighting for, so america became independant and anti british. Abandoning even the ability to count properly, and cosy up to the french (perhaps because they sent the americans a present of a big stone woman?). Unfortunately as america gained wealth and power, and british governments increasingly sold out to them, even the british adopted the practice of counting incorrectly in order to avoid embarrassing their neighbours and their paymasters by pointing out the rather embarrassing fact that 1 billion has always been 1 million million, just as one million is one thousand thousand.

US billion: 1,000,000,000, ie, a thousand million.
rest of the world billion: 1,000,000,000,000, ie, a million million.

Your link does not work, GMT. People must be playin' cause numbers and currencies and time are being mixed up. Numerically speaking a million million is a trillion. And the U.S. owes 14 trillion $$ to the rest of the world. Divided by the U.S. population and that means a $13,000 debt for every man woman and child now. Watch as the American Empire topples to the East because of that single transgression and America becomes a 3rd world country.
