Tankless CO2?

Sorry kinda newb question, only asking because the idea of using propane burners or large CO2 tanks is unappealling.

i saw recently in the hydrofarms catalog they had some kind of watercooled co2 generator....

is there any tankless alternatives to co2?

id rather go with a co2 tank over propane burner just because i dont like the whole burning propane indoors idea seems kinda dangerous and might kill the plants if you arent watching.

oh yeah i already have a CHHC1 but its not a big deal i can sell it and use the money to buy the watercooled one?

There are bags sold that grow mycelium (mushroom) culture and my grow store sells a powered bucket that ferments yeast, I believe.

Might work for a very small tent. I've never seen any reports of people using this stuff, especially with a PPM monitor (which would be nice).

yea i have used the disolving pucks but i have a bigger grow now so need something to cover 100-150 sq feet.
For your space (1200 cf max 150'x8') I think an injector with bottled CO2 would be your best bet and if you can afford it I recommend a "fuzzy logic" type controller as they make for the most efficient use of your CO2

The watercooled units are propane burners. Find one that's UL listed, if you want to go that route. On-the-cheap you can get an RV hot water heater off eBay.

i went to the hydro shop and a 20lb tank and regulator was 300 bucks is that too expensive?

no that sounds fine, tanks here run about 160-180 and the regulator was about a hundy.

id recommend getting at least 1 extra tank, so you never have a lapse in ppm

You might check the local home brew beer forums for good places to refill.
(South of Seattle, Praxxair in Tacoma has been recommended--I think they make it there.)
I guess most places want to do it on an exchange-tank basis.
