I have successfully rooted up to three clones at a time in one neoprene plug with this system, easily doubling or tripling the capacity of the plugs in the lid.

If you cut the neoprene in a spiral, you can get a lot in one plug.

I imagine he means like the grooves in a LP record except, all the way through the material. Essentially, it would be a "string" of neoprene rolled into the shape of a disk.

heres my DIY aerocloner using a 8 gallon ez stor bucket aka ucc bucket using 5/8" foam insulation in place of basket and neoprene works like a charm pump is a pondmaster 500 !!! this one holds 143 cuts lids cut out from a sheet of 1/8" abs plastic =)

This is the best DIY I've ever seen here. I've been thinking about building a clone machine for awhile now and before I did I thought I'd better see if there was a thread about it and sure enough presto here it is. You saved me from making alot of mistakes and having to go thru some trial and error. I can't thank you enough!! I read the whole thread and you seem to be a really cool and knowledgeable guy. It's people like you that make being a member here worthwhile and enjoyable. When I complete my aero cloner I'll post up a few pics here if you don't mind. Thanks again man :D

Just a couple of quick questions though: Wouldn't those misters be better all the way around?
If not the misters would it be of any benefit to add a big air-stone in the bottom?

Years ago I read that it's good to trim your cutting's leafs in half. I'm not sure why I do this, but it seems to work well

reduces surface area they can transpire through old trick for plants when your sticking em in dirt or similar to elp keep the water up in them
proberly unnessercy with this but i still do it aswell :p
i just go with a dwc style cloner i made myself 100% strike rate i only use straght tap water and i dont like little jets as Ca ( i think? lime scale?)builds up and blocks em and im a lazy fuck

I have tried a few different misters. The ones I have listed work best. No need to trick this system out more (other then adding more sites). Fine misters clog all the time. No real need for them.

Cool buddy I like your attitude...

But I do have 1 really great tweak to modify your design: Most 5-6 gallon buckets are 10.5" diameter at mid height. So that would be just shy of 33" circumference. So if you cut 2 pieces 15" (=30"), allow another inch gap between circle = 31", and another inch deducted for fitting overlap = 32" circle.
You would need 3 T's instead of 1, but you wouldn't need any other fitting besides the MIP to the pump.

But you would be adding several inches of tubing that could handle more jets and I would think that it would distribute more efficiently.
I have pvc benders and blankets but you could easily bend 1/2" pvc with a heat pad or hair dryer.
