The Official MMA Discussion

well DAMN!!

i guess that answers that!

the old Vitor just didnt show up tonight. he seemed way too cautious. he had to know that Anderson's strategy was gonna be counter striking. and for all that fucking around...Anderson still got the job done.

the only question left now is what is Forrest going to make Rich get tattooed with. LOL

Jon Jones is ready. give the kid a shot and lets see what hes got against top tier competition.

i was really surprised to see how shitty Cerrone looked, and im not sure why it happened like that. it cant be ring rust. im glad to see him get the W though. he needs to realize that this isnt the WEC anymore and get fucking busy.

all in all GREAT night of fights. all my picks came through too, so im kinda stoked about that.

i liked the front kick..
but to me the story of the night was jonses' modified d'arce...
he did it with the gable/S grip!!!!! there was room in there so it wasn't even a blood or breath choke. just a straight up neck crank!!!! jones told him to tap if you watch close.
this kid is for real!

someone needs to photoshop some mickey mouse ears on him fucking ASAMFP!

ive been cruising the MMA boards trying to get a handle on the fallout from this fight tonight and find myself disgusted...and whats doing it surprises me.

these so called "mma news" sites are calling Bigfoot Silva an "up and coming prospect". are you fucking kidding me? just cause a guy ducked his athletic commission suspension by fighting in Japan doesnt make him an "up and comer" again. before the fedor fight, Bigfoot has proved he has what it takes to get in there with strikeforce's best. lets just hope he has all his medical shit sorted out.

Strikeforce would shit a chicken if Silva's test comes back hot. not only would their tournament favorite be watching from the sidelines, but so would the fighter that beat him! thats bad on an epic scale for a promotion like SF. they would go from having a very marketable fighter (in Silva) now turning into a tournament favorite, to having a replacement (that proved they could kick some ass from tonights prelims) facing the entire other side of the bracket.

Scott Coker is on his knees praying to Jesus, Buddha, Shiva and anyone else that will listen for a clean test from Silva.

Well Silva out weight him by almost 50 lbs. Simply put, that makes a huge difference. Look at brock vs randy. Now randy was way better skills fighter but brock being a great wrestler was able to get on top and use his size and strength to win that fight. Just means that there really needs to be a super heavy weight class. If fedor wants to continue to fight he needs to drop some of that body fat and compete at 205. Will he? Most likely not. He has done pretty much all that he wants too in the fight game. He's rich and M1 is his fight organization. He could get away with murdering someone in Russia and they would give him a medal for doing it. Plus hes been talking a lot about god this and god that, which is never a good sign for a fighter. Which makes me think why do fighters always thank god for kicking the shit out of someone? I would love to see a fighter just once after pounding the shit out of someone, thank Satan! I mean isn't that whom you should be thanking for it? Plus it would be funny as hell.

Although Fedor Emelianenko hinted his potential G.O.A.T. career may have come to an end Saturday night inside the IZOD Center in New Jersey, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker suggested the Fedor’s participation in their Heavyweight Grand Prix may be far from over.

“There’s absolutely a possibility he could be a replacement,” Coker said at the post-fight press conference. “That’s the beauty of the tournament. You don’t know what could happen in the next leg of the tournament.

“As this tournament unwinds over the year, there could be an injury and you could see Fedor back in the tournament.”

Its amazing he got away so long fighting in a weight class he didn't belong in. He is still an effing man for taking that beating and not giving up and letting himself get knocked out.

i just read some more bullshit.

it seems that Coker had offered fedor the spot as the "first alternate". WTF?? shouldnt the alternates who WON their fights get first shot at it?

*sniffsniff* smells like elitexc

anyone who says fedor sucks needs have their head examined

he won the 1st round, and lost the fight only because the vast difference in size = Bigfoot's ability to hold him down

bigfoot is extremely talented and knows how to use his size to his advantage, but on a pure skill level fedor is still ahead of his peers

he will retire as the greatest fighter to ever walk the earth IMO

i dont doubt his skill as a fighter. he can fight. ill give him that.

...but the guy has been ducking competition since his wins over Nog and Crocop.
