i'm pressed for room here, so it's not a huge show, shit, it's not even a big show!
1k and 11 plants SOG style
let me explain.....
my entire closet is 70"L x 26"W x 96"H

i've grown all sorts of ways, but wanted to give vert 1 shot b4 i close up shop at this locale.

i will post up the build here, for constructive critisism for the experienced. i'll even put up w/ trolls and flames if it helps me learn :jump:

on with the pics and descrips........
this is what the closet looked like prior (random pix)
2 2'x2' tables
1 400w CMH over each table

i was pondering using one of my cool tubes.
maybe if temps get nutty.

as far as 6 more pots, i could do that.
just no plants to go in them.
i only have 11 fems from seed, no more no less.

thx 4 stoppin in!

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of yields were you getting with your 2x400w CMH?

as long as you have a plan for training it looks good.

how far is the light from the containers currently cause if they stretch it may be of concern since it doesn't look like you could really move much

Anti, Bobblehead, Whodare,
thx for stopping in and peepin the gro.

i knew stretch would be an issue, that's why i'm flipping em small.
kinda defeats the point of a vert gro IMO, but i wanted to give it a whack.
i been laying on my back w/ grows for years, figured i'd try to stand up for this one!

Nice work Pimp, you're going to be thrilled with the vert thing, being a beginer, vertically, this year I can tell ya' it works like a mutha-*^&^%$......I'm running my cooltubes overhead and my verts down in between the plants and then some cooltubes at 45 degree angles if needed, sometimes plants don't do what they should.Sure looks like you've been doing the work, as much as I hate vert lamps for my eyes, I'll never go back to straight horizontal unless it's a veg room.Good luck, I think you're going to kill it!!:)

mkay, I've had a night to sleep on this... and you don't have a lot of room to work with as far as width goes... but, if you were to stack 3-400's on top of each other in a column and I know how frosty CMH buds are :), you could surround them with plants even on the sides. Just a thought. You're off to a great start. Maybe make a ring out of rabbit fencing to train those plants around... Tight space for 1k...

Looking awesome man. I just switched to vert for the first time. I'm hoping for the awesome results I keep hearing everyone else talk about. Seems like everyones happy with their vert switch. I think both me and you will be happy with it also!

I recently read that shanti (i think) changed thier white widow to black widow when everyone else starting messing with WW cuts....So is BW the original WW? Looking forward to what these strains put out, especially from your garden. Best of luck!

i forgot to mention in this thread the strains.
4 black widows female seeds x-line
2 white widows medical mj seeds
5 super lemon haze ghs

all fems!

yeah bobble, i was thinking of stacking pots vertically w/ lil to no pitch on the rise.
but i have 0 clones at this locale and just popped sum seeds for the hell of it.

but i got bigger vert plans next time around.
this is just a test run persay, next spot will be better and bigger.

thx dustin,
hope your vert rocks too!

chaco, thx for stopping in!
all i dream of lately is running your la nina in a nice vert setup.
that shit is off the chain!

While I still think you will be impressed with your results, you're missing out on at least 50% of the vertical benefit with this setup.

but you just want to get your feet wet before shutting down here, so you'll probably enjoy the water.

i'm with ya guys, i could do better, bigger.
i'm just attempting a vert 1st, tweak later.

after sitting on the setup w/ coffee and a J, i decided it was a lil too tight as bobble stated.
moved the right side back 6", moved the center of the light over 3" and put in a 400cmh.
wanted to veg in this system for a lil bit so the medium dries out and i can dial these blumats.
get the snags out of the way b4 the flower show.
picture.php

and yes, i mounted a 400w ballast! not putting the 400 into the 1k ballast!
picture.php

wtf, we can't rotate pics anymore w/ the edit function?
why do i pay my icmag taxes?

You're gonna be a lot happier this way. :)

The 1k would have stressed your plants from all the heat imo... you're ventilation is good, but 1k is powerful... I would say 600w is the max for your space, but multiple 400's... Now that's something you can work with. You have height. Start taking some clones while you're vegging... ha ha... ;)

Thanks for sharing it looks good.
With the light hanging vert and the fan underneath it, heat will not be an issue. This approach works very well imo

Didn't know you made the switch too CHACO. I was just in your ECSD thread, wondering what your new big bush would look like surrounded by some vert lights.
