what were your milestones in growing terms

First Milestone for me was my first harvest being 1.3 gpw, of course this is because I had long flowering sativas, let them go way too long and got mediocre overgrown smoke the first time.

Then Genetics, got some clones, and voila got better smoke. Along with genetics came knowledge of training and pruning.

That had me so excited I upped from my 150 watt hps to a 1k hps and a tent. Then I got a harvest of about .74 gpw but got much better smoke. At this point I learned that my gpw was not the end all be all of my grow. I would rather grow slightly less great smoke than alot of bammer.

After that I tuned things in a little bit and now get around 1.05gpw a run with 1.1-1.2 being possible, again though finding genetics to be a lock, I have lower yielding strains, and even when lst'd to hell and topped like mad there is only so much you can do with a mediocre yielder.

I guess my next milestone is seeds, ordered some BOG seeds and some GH seeds, wanted to see how feminized versus non worked.

And shortly after that I have the large milestone of going large.

Got approved for a 25k loan, got my legal paperwork, going to set up a 6k flip flop (3k in each flower room) and go big. Looking forward to posting the room build.

power to the people dude !!!! thats what im talkin bout Caille. that sounds like a dream come true, life's a garden dig it!!!!

when i buy a property, then ill know that i have done something with what i have learned. until then, im still learning. in my past buying a few grand worth of growing equipment was a pretty big deal, and have money to get through the grow, and at the same time stopped slingang. buying my first oz, and buying my first p, and then going on a run to CA, those experiences stick out in my head.

I think a major milestone for me was learning how the light travels and inverse square and all that...being able to utilize my lights properly. I see wayyyy too many people (not on ic) that have lights on the ceiling and plants on the floor pulling a few oz's off of 5' plants. Also just learning to be as efficient as possible and use all the space or electricity at my disposal.

..and honestly, finding ICmag and all the great knowledge here was the hugest milestone ever for me...that day I realized wow "I don't know shit!I never learned anything out of hightimes or books I've read!"..and I can now say that I still don't know shit after seeing all of the different grow styles and mediums on IC...

modular scrog was the biggest difference for me. it started 20 years ago out of necessity - long low cupboard with a door at one end, t8 tubes as lights. at the time there was no internet so i had never heard the word scrog or seen anyone else do it with weed (but of course training plants to a trellis is pretty common in horticulture).

Multiple pound plants.

Multiple pound plants.

My biggest milestone was multi pound outdoor plants. I had grown plenty of double digit oz. plants, but when I took it to the next level and started hitting 2-3 pounds, I knew I had hit a milestone personally.
My next milestone is double digit pounders :)

Hitting 2lbs per harvest of NL5XHaze under 1050w of cmh years ago was a milestone at the time. Straight coco then too. Moved - Had to go cab style....

Right now it is my JohnnyBlaze X SweetBlue cross that has been a milestone in my closet breeding attempts.

My first pathetic small low tch bag seed plant under halogen flood lights that I smoked. After that I got a 400 switchable and it got fun and easy.
When I took down my first harvest in my new room and realized I didn't have to modify the room. Was the first room I didn't go to cheap on.

discovering how co2 works.
got a smaller room that I paid alot of attention too.
and noticed how this strain sucks and when it stops.
I guess since noticing that I kinda picked up on how to feed.

also learning about RH and how it is not black and white, you need to notice growth...
