Or, we can chalk-up much of your debate to minutia.

You're the one isolating individual words and sentances from a paragraph both Gypsy and I have posted in full. Seems to me the minutia label fits you far better.

What debate though? I am not debating anything. I corrected a mistake made. It's over and done with. I've moved on mosc0 has moved on. You're the one here playing with....debating yourself. :jerkit:

It was? Man you have your comedy threshold set incredibly low.

Maybe... I didn't mean anything truly offensive by it, don't be so sensitive. I laughed out loud when another member posted this about me...

Greensub... if you never post again I would be so happy

... it was just funny, I even put it in my sig for awhile.

Sorry if I offended you with my amusement.

We all know you that you know how to spell cat, you're a smart guy... he was just poking a little fun at you. It was more the way he said it... "... with a C."

Don't assume I was sensitive about it and don't read into it that I thought you meant anything by it, let alone anything truely offensive (BTW, does that mean it's okay in your book to be offensive just as long as you didn't truely mean to be?). I just didn't think it was all that funny and felt that if you did, your standards for what is funny must be lower then Taco Bell's standards are for what is beef.

Ouch, no love for the bell.
Myself, I love taco bell, and when I can no longer afford gas for my car, I'll still ride my bike there.

Nah, but then again I don't have much love for fast food restaurants of any kind. I guess having worked at several in my youth kind of soured me against them? I will add though that judging by what I notice about people that do frequent these fast food places is that if they ever figure out how to run cars off of farts then the energy problem will come to an end.

Egypt's government made peace with Israel 3 decades ago. Way past time for them to make peace with their own people.

Chevron's got a potential $100 billion class-action lawsuit on their hands in Africa. Pretty soon, the cheap threshold for gas will be $4 a gal or more.

NO GAS NEEDED
HERMOSILLO, Mexico - Drug smugglers are using an ancient invention as a new way to move marijuana across the border from Mexico to Arizona.

The discovery of two "drug catapults" in the Mexican state of Sonora marks the latest twist in the cat-and-mouse game traffickers play with authorities.

U.S. National Guard troops operating a remote surveillance system at the Naco Border Patrol Station say they observed several people preparing a catapult and launching packages over the fence late last week.

A Mexican army officer says the 3-yard (3-meter) tall catapult was found about 20 yards (20 metres) from the U.S. border on a flatbed towed by a sports utility vehicle.

The officer says the catapult was capable of launching 4.4 pounds (2 kilograms) of marijuana at a time. He says soldiers seized 35 pounds (16 kilograms) of pot, the vehicle and the catapult.

The smugglers left before they could be captured. The surveillance video of them using the catapult was released Wednesday.

A second catapult was discovered Thursday in near Agua Prieta, another border town. Another army officer in that area said an anonymous tip led soldiers to the scene and the catapult was similar to the first.

Mexican officials say it is the first time they have seen this smuggling method used by local traffickers.

Mexican traffickers have previously used planes, tunnels, vehicles, boats and couriers to smuggle drugs into the United States. Colombian drug traffickers have even used homemade submarines.

This is a perfect example of the point he was trying to make I believe. We're having a back and forth about this now... making a mountain out of a molehill. How long do you want to discuss this? I believe that was his whole point.

Maybe it's just me that has the ability to laugh at themselves sometimes?

You strike me a serious person most of the time... for instance the way you respond to each post as you read it when you're catching up with a thread rather than checking to see if your points were already addressed by someone else in the meantime. (you know you end up with like 5 posts in a row sometimes in a thread) It just strikes me that your on a mission to respond to every little thing a lot of the time.

Don't get me wrong... I appreciate what you have to say, I enjoy reading your posts and hearing your input. I have friendly feelings towards you on this board that's why I said I didn't mean to be offensive... I saw the whole thing as a friend poking some fun at another friend... both the original statement I responded too and my comment on it.

I do feel bad now that you've taken so much offense to it and for what it's worth I'm sorry, I didn't mean to infer in anyway that your input isn't worthwhile.

Again you assume I took offense when I didn't. Please stop making assumptions about me. You're welcome to form your opinions of my behavior based on your observations but please keep in mind that because you form an opinion it does not mean your opinion is correct. Like how I reply to many posts as I catch up on a thread. You see it as me being on a mission to respond to every little thing. Me I see it as me responding to posts I feel I have something to add to. If I wanted to respond to every little thing there would be far more posts from me grouped together from when I'm catching up.

Also I'm not concerned if someone else has made the same point. Sometimes, especially in a debate setting where you have many points of views, multiple posts saying the same thing adds to the weight an opinion carries. Like the old saying, if a person tells you that you have a tail like a dog or cat you can probably ignore them but if 10 people tell you that you have a tail like a dog or cat you should turn around and take a look.

As for how long shall we discuss this? Well that's up to you, you're the one who keeps trying to tell me what I think and feel. As long as you do that I'm probably going to need to correct you because I'm the only one who truely knows what I think or mean by what I say or do.

All we do on here is assume we know what someone else means... in context it was a reasonable assumption. As far as your style, I'm not knockin' it... I've thought about doing so myself before I ever noticed you doing it (but I realized I was so far behind in the thread that it would really mess up the flow of the current conversation... I was about 75 pages back at the time)

I wasn't trying to tell you how you think and feel... I can only respond to the clues you give me by your responses. Even as you tell me your not offended, I take in your overall tone, what part of my post you choose to respond to, choice of words, context, what I know of your online personality... everything in total. I base my assumptions on that... it's the only thing I can do. Do you know what I mean? or are you assuming you do?

Well if you come into a thread like this one based on past news events and it's 75 pages long, chances are better then not that there is no meaningful discussion going on at the other end unless the thread is just a week or so old and has already gotten to 75 pages. As for assumptions, you don't need to make assumptions about what people say unless you don't understand the language or you know they're hiding something. For the most part though if you know the language then all you have to do is listen to what is being said and take them at their word.

I wasn't trying to tell you how you think and feel... I can only respond to the clues you give me by your responses. Well first of all there is no tone to text in a post on a forum unless you use bold, italics, underlined, larger text, etc. To distinguish some of the text as having more meaning or emphasis. In what I said that started all this had none of that, just simple plain text on a screen questioning what you think is funny. No need to understand my online personality, I responded to your whole post because all it did was tell Spastic Gramps how funny you thought his comment was. So there was no part I was responding to that needed to be analyzed. There was no context since I wasn't responding to just part of a post and you haven't a clue about my online personality if you haven't talked to me personally every day for years because there are people who have and even they wouldn't assume they know all about me. You claim to have been watching me for years but judging by how you respond to me either that's not true or you didn't learn much about me in all that time
