5.5-6 is prime for soil. You likely didnt detrimentally damage your roots but hours of submersion are not ideal conditions. Just aim for within a half point of 6, make changes gradually, and keep on token!

actually 6.5 sounds about right, maybe higher in flower :)

6.0 is a bit low for soil but right on for coco coir

5 - 5.5 is far too low acidic for actual "soil", thats where you want to be in hydro for best uptake :canabis:

agreed 100% 6.5 ph for the water with n w/out ferts in it for soil

PH of 5.0 sounds like either distilled or R/O water if so you'll need to add PH up to obtain PH 6.5. and if your ferts used arent organic then after ferts are added to your water the PH will be even lower

most soil come PH ballanced with crushed oyster shell between 6.5-5.5 at least the fox farm ocean forrest soil i use dose.

 Yeah, that. I keep it between 6.5-6.7. If I go lower, I get fucked plants. My Chem 4 will get leaf def. in 1 day if I take it down past 6.5.

I'm in promix, BTW. Same was true for Roots though.

Distilled and RO water should have a neutral PH just about 7 ;)

Actually, it depends on the input ph of the water you are using. My r/o spits water out at a ph 6.0, with an initial input ph of around 8.5, while my last grow spot gave me 5.0 from the r/o with an initial input ph of around 7.3.-7.5. Not sure on distilled though, as I have never used that for growing.

Pure elemental water with 0 ppm's should be neutral (PH 7) regardless of how it got to be 0 ppm's otherwise there are still minerals or substances in the water affecting the PH. :canabis:

Also worth noting is hot water has a slightly lower PH due to some changes in co2 gas levels.
