I have noticed that some pictures that people post look way further along than people claim. :dance013:

My poll is a simple yes or no, have you ever lied about what day flower you are in? :)

For example, if I took a pic of a plant at day 50 of flower, then posted it and told everybody it was day 35. That way everybody would say, "wow, looks great for day 35!" I never have but some pics are just hard to believe. All results will remain anonymous. Peace out.:thank you:

Isn't there some debate on when "flowering" actually starts? Don't some people say the hour it goes 12/12 it's flowering and some might wait a week or so before they would say it's flowering?

Yes unfortunately people do. Same with yield. Sometimes its on purpose sometimes it isn't. Many people start counting flowering times from when the first bud sites develop. 2-3 weeks into flowering from the flip of 12/12.

I've also talked to many folks that the way they judged an ounce was four fingers in a zip lock bag or one small mason jar. That is nowhere near an ounce and the difference between fluffy bud and dense nugs is huge.

If pressed they'll say they don't sell it anyway so they don't care. But its still misleading to people trying to judge their harvests against others. 4 fingers might be a lid but its not an ounce. And if you paid for an ounce and it turns out it was ten grams, I doubt the dealer saying "Well its 4 fingers in the bag dude" would end the problem for you.

I agree this is a problem but I would hope most people start flowering when they flip 12/12. Good answer however.

Yup they do

Yup they do

Yup, they do. Seed companies do it all the time. It is a proven fact at this point.
As to personal grows, i doubt it, why would you???
My opinion does shift for those on Internet forum's that are trying to hype their wares. I see more room for dishonesty there. No one wants the newest hottest thing to take forever, so they shave a couple day's here , couple days there.

No I have never but who would care,it's done when it's done and that changes in every single room.

Sad to say the one's that count or the grows you want to see well they just don't post up pics anymore.

maybe it would be more accurate for the seed companies to say this strain ripened in this amount of time given this set of conditions, most of us dont have the luxury of one plant per 1000w lamp in a completely dialed in room so to expect that same strain to perform the same under a 400w lamp with a half dozen other plants in less than ideal conditions is just silly...

Once I grew a plant that was pathetic. The thing was an absolute nightmare from seed, everything that could go wrong; did where that plant was concerned. Broken limbs twice, over watered, under watered, spider mites, light blew, fan burned out, everything.
Well a friend had started one at the same time I did, so after we harvested and he had his which was way more than mine did. So I grabbed a bag of some other stuff and played him off.
But I think thats more just friend/grower rivalry. Where the commercial ops and seed companies? Well that's misrepresentation I think.

I don't know if it's ever been established exactly when "flowering" begins. I kinda like growing the AF's and like to hold em in veg as long as possible, so my plants are covered with bud sites and hair clusters a couple weeks before I flip em. So 20 days in flower for mine would look different than people who flip em as soon as they start developing clusters. or even forces em to flower.

Usually I disregard the days of 12/12 that people post in threads because everybody grows different and have different ideas and systems about when to flip, transplant, top, prune, DF, hell even watering.
So I look at a picture of a strain I'm familiar with, that is 3 weeks into flowering; well I make the determination in accordance with what I know that strain does at a specific age. Regardless of when the poster turned the lights.

Unclefishstick nailed it. No I don't lie, but I also know that the breeders flowering times are just estimates and my flower times may vary accordingly. And yes I only have two 400 watters, thus I may need more flower time, and also organic soil, not hydro. I believe hydro is much quicker.

I know a friend who posted his grow on here. He lied by like 9 days. I didn't call him on it. I should have. I don't know why he did, either. His grow was very impressive.

It's like it's not even pathological. Just something about the internet?
