yep, im addicted to this thread.

when i check MyIC im not checking any new rep im checking for this thread being updated.

the inspiration this thread gives me swamps my growing abilities / knowledge about this plant and the combination of taste and medicinal effects out there awaiting discovery.

i constantly dream about having space like Mr Nice Seeds has to do their breeding but space w/o knowledge is Empty Space so onward i grow and learning with every plant harvested.

btw, cool ass pic barefoot downhill skatin' with the dank background.

EDIT: LandSurfin through the genetic pool of Cannabis

I appreciate the views, posts, and kindness.:)

To touch on Highend....somehow....this cross comes out pretty unique and pretty distinct at the same time. To me it is about the Rene funk blending perfectly with the stud Blueberry. I can kind of just pick Highend out in a crowd...in the garden or glass.

My Pet Project thread (Short/Legends forum) shows some of my dedication to Highend. I had some help from Highlighter and another ICer with that project. With their help...I have taken Highend into the F3 and a few outcrosses. If I had a preservation project..which I already said I wouldn't....it would be Highend.

In I-HOP Highend....I'm looking to match up some of CBF's Strawberry work to a funky Blueberry. I'm not really looking for ChemD (ChemD clone is mom of Straw Dog) expression...looking for more a Rene Funky Berry Mash....I want rotten berry covered in gooey syrup....I want a heavy headed potent high... I want berry cluster flower structure....and (the hard part) I want them to yield very well.....in 50-60 daze.

*Note just to remind (myself or others)

For the I-HOP projects different phenotypes of Straw Dog females were outcrossed to Blue Satellite 2.2, Highend F2, and Grape Krush males. I'm currently vegging I-HOP Grape Krush and posted up a long ways (somewhere) back....my results with the I-HOP Satellite. I'm balls deep in this project...the I-HOPs will keep popping up in one of their guises or another....I'm in study of them.

Edit....I've never smoked or grown the Rene clone....I would like to work with her though.

My work with these current indicas I believe will all lead back to Highend. Just so uniquely flavorful. I tried w/ the Honey White, but it didn't come thru. I'll tinker, I know it's there!

Happy day, got my SB order, my xmas present to myself, DC @ $55, Farah Kush, and Bulletproof IBL's, 2 fer 1.
I dig the Classic Seeds dude, I go by the seedbay forum daily to read his thoughts of the day.
He's got these homemade labels, the SB packers had tape on it, peeling the ink right off, too funny, but the seeds look serious! The biggest, most mature of the lot.
The DC's go into peat pellets tomorrow then I'll wait 10 days before the Bulletproof's.
It's chaotic w/ plants here @ so many stages. Feeding this coco has me hoppin'!
AND I'M TAKING CUTS!
Potted up 20 yesterday, took 20 more. :bashhead:
Good times! :D

Nice HL. That sounds like a busy garden. I've never looked into Classic Seeds...I'll have to start dropping in and having a read.

I think I bought a 10pac of Highend beans for $65. I'm not exactly sure why the cross attracts me so much. We both know they are generally slow veggers and lower yielding plants. I think it is the funk. I believe it is one of the most overlooked crosses....kind of was here then simply became unavailable.

I'm hoping that the I-HOP Highend turns into something special....I only have 2 females going (one is in flower) batched up with ChemDDIX1....but they veg as quick as the Chems. Should be an interesting next few months.

I have not germinated any beans in way over a month. That in itself is remarkable. What I have is a veg room full of Grape Krush I-HOPs, Ma Kettles, The Crunge, Mental Floss F2, Orange BrickHouse, ChemDDIX1, Mikado.....I'm stalling many of them but getting ready to put more ChemDD into flower. Taking my sweet ass X.

On another note....my self-heal school of herbal studies and health is helping me expand my horizons. I'm already ordering seeds for my outdoor beds. The teas I have been drinking are amazing. I realize more and more how I abuse cannabis....I use MJ way too much...that is not the way to ingest herbs into your life. It is essential that one be well rounded in the use of herbs.

I visited my indoor running friends the other day. So good to have a fellow grower to chat with. Got me some Congo, Satori, CLS Puna mix and SatoThai samples. Congo proved difficult to grow for the newbie non-smoker gardener. PunaMix produced some outrageously trich covered, fat dense buds. I guess we got the BMR child. Good smoke. Mellowed the Congo, made my friend talk and talk and talk... Both Puna and Congo tasty and way strong for me.
I don't like to smoke indoors though. Outdoors is so much better to be high.

tree house puna a original IBL from the 70's robinson caruso has left hawaii crossed to wally ducks C-99.reefermans G-13.bogs blue moon rocks ,cls jacalyn this will be a taste of the old islands with some new and some old strains i know it will be grate for what ails you and very enjoyable tasty smoke

My friends kept the best growers from the run. One Congo, one Puna, one Grapefruit and one GrapefruitxVictory. Cool. I'd like to continue to test stuff in their garden. GfxV is our standard. It yields (easy to grow) and is a crowd favourite.
Bad thing is they got rid of most of the Congo before realising how good it is... so I have only a tiny bud for further testing (before the clones are done).

Pablos, got two questions for ya:
What tees do you drink that are amazing(and in what way)?
When do you start your defoliation? 4th pair of leaves or even earlier if you want to stall them?

My Xmass SB order arrived as well. More F13xA11 along with the missing Pure Energy from last order and 10 OriginalHazexSkunk#1 freebies that are new to my collection. Nice :) Now where is my indoor garden?!

I keep running my 5min. minimum a day. Drink my Rhodiola rosea (Golden Root, Roseroot, Aaron's Rod). Smoke about twice a week. I'd feel even better if I would find more time to study for my nearing exams...
It never did me much good to smoke every day... not even all day, but just every evening made me so tired...

Anyone had to deal with rats attacking the plants and girdling them 3 weeks before harvest?

I made lovely chicken legs... marinated in fresh ginger and lots of jamaican thyme, mugwort, garlic, shallots, sweet paprika powder, hot chilli, madras curry, cinnamon, cumin, black and long pepper, lemon and orange juice, olive oil, salt, cane sugar and honey. he he it was crazy flow making it. Chopping, mixing, adding, tasting, adding more. All in a rush.
Gary Kasparov said we should train our intuition. That it is like a muscle and the most important/beneficial/useful (don't remember exactly what word he used) of human abilities.

Rolling my joints with the mugwort my wife bought for the roast. I like it more than tobacco, but I need to dry it a bit more. Still want to use it for my dreams as a tea. Maybe tonight...

Cheers! And thank you for having me.

Damn Pablos... you definitely know how to keep busy. I'm always amazed at how many concurrent projects you can keep up with.

Glad to see the STJ worked out well for you, and also glad to see you included it in your ongoing work. The bud structure on yours definitely looks a lot more TV-ish than the ones I've grown, a little more squat, a little less running spiral. I was also taken aback at how manageable this plant was, it was set-it-and-forget-it all the way. Just bent the main stem over about 6" down during week 2 of the stretch and it filled in nice and even. Never passed 3' tall. The TV is a hell of a Sativa-tamer, even though he was mostly Sativa himself. He got it on with the Highland, maybe he'll have a similar effect in that cross. One can only hope.

I was apparently slightly mistaken about the lineage of the original TV cross, it was a (Malawi Gold x BB) female hit with Bangi Haze x (Sweet Pink Grapefruit x SWT#3), not just Bangi x SWT#3. All 3 lines used in the male side have very big, dense flowers and are great yielders. I don't have any experience with pure Malawi so i can't really say what it's influence is in the final product, but it's nice to know it's in there, even if it is only 12.5% of the makeup.

Can you break down the lineage of Satechism and Affection a little? I'm totally intrigued...

Hey Vod...

As for the quasi defoliations.....if you really want to do it right....and drag your veg time but keep controlled plants in tight places...start when the plants are 6-8" tall. Starting then seriously retards them into thicker bush type plants....I find it works better (stronger branches) rather than topping....as long as you know/want them to stall. Remove the majority of the leaves but not any of the (what will become) axil limbs.

From the 1st quasi defoliation session...wait until they have shown ample regrowth (10-14 days) then defoliate them again (as long as you are still stalling)....and so on until you are ready to flower.

I leave a solid growth of leaves on them as they enter flower....then if they start stretching too much I prune (defoliate) them to where I think they should stop...or if the height is sufficient after good flower onset (about week 3 in most stuff I grow)...I open them up...just leave sugar leaves and a few fans and waters....depending on the plant. At this point the plant should be more flower than leaf....with light penetrating into the meats. Then just upkeep them by crow picking (finger picking...in fact I finger prune rarely using scissors) leaves away where you see shade.

Teas...in my herb classes we drink different teas each class. I'm now in a women oriented class...so we study different teas for women's needs....from bloating thru pregnancy....PMS to menopause...last night we had Yarrow based tea...and learned about Red Rasberry, Dong Quai, Vitex, Partridge Berry, Black Haw etc..

I'll be growing (in beds and containers) Mugwort, Lemon Balm, etc etc....as much as I can work with.....but converting much of my outdoor over to herbs.

I'm on a journey....I realize Cannabis has opened up other doors for me. I need to be more honest as I progress in Herbalism.

...and here lies the problem. For example I have 6 Satechisms that all will need to be smoked to be tested.

I am the jury, judge, and executioner of my work. I take the responsibility upon myself from seedling to seedling....I am responsible for my concepts.

It is an ungodly amount of cannabis I smoke to be in this position.
It is not a healthy way of going about it.
I can figure out no way around it...

In my culture....flowers are the end product...I do not believe vaporizing nor hash are accurate in testing final product. I am sure I could be debated on that point....but whether it be the way I came up smoking cannabis or just preference...smoking flowers is the way I test my creations.

I run my ass off (literally....my training in the hills now is such an endorphin addiction...I can not stop) hoping that I'm being healthy and flushing out toxins....I eat very well....I feel great almost all the time....but I'm not being honest with Mary Jane...I'm abusing her. I love being high on my creations....love it...but a man must know limitations and be sincere in what he is doing. Bottom line....very simply....I smoke way too much pot...too much of anything is not a righteous path....I have a pot cough from hell.

There he is....me friend Ponde....fellow Bulldog skater.

Let's see....yes I'm very happy with the STJ....love the squat structure, the easy care, and the super dense nuggets...I actually just harvested that plant...so I'll be showing trim shots probably this week end. The structure will blend in well with Satechism....I'll show a group shot of the Satechism soon...you will see what I speak of...they will be peas and carrots.

Thanks for the update on the lineage....duly noted...I ran blind (knowing little about them) deliberately...well done Ponde...nothing negative to note...I'll give you a smoke report when the time comes.

Affection.....well actually...it is "The Affection Pool"

Looks like this at present...but always expanding in generation and outcross additions:

Hummingbird=Kali Mist x ChemDKush X Grape Krush

Cleveland Sage= Prune Juice X Hummingbird

Prune Juice= Querkle x Grape Krush

The Crunge= Karoline Krutch X Prune Juice

Karoline Krutch= AbusiveKushHaze x Sour Bubble X Grape Krush

Satechism= Casey Jones X Blue Satellite 2.2

Ma Kettle= Casey Jones X Grape Krush

You will see that I used the same Grape Krush males (mutant and non mutant) as a binder (common parent) in many of the Xs. All are very experimental crosses. In this pool I'm practically promised outstanding results....so far proving consistent in keeping me motivated to work it.

I'm now mixing the I-HOP project into the Affection Pool....and criss crossing into the Deliah Pool (work done with my ChemDD mom) with Affection. Some was just done....and some is coming up in veg...but expanding the pools. I'm not at all unhappy with my line ups...but pushing them on and away into further concepts.

Satechism is hitting all the marks for me at the moment....very proud plants. I'll have to get them together for some pix.

For real. I know that. It's a damn hard job. The hardest bit apart the paranoia for me. At least I don't have to do it the year round.

smoking flowers is the way I test my creations.

Flower smoking culture here as well, but I intend to switch to hash this season. I like hash. It's less bulky, keeps better etc... I don't smoke pure -> tolerance doesn't allow + I don't like pipes (don't know how to use them), never had a bong... So I figure hash will do just fine to judge the effects. Mix sisters together, cut down on the number of subjects in this fashion.

Thx for the defoil description. I have a little SchromxC99xAlphaDiesel under the lamp that I want to keep small.

Herb class sounds very interesting. I'd like do something like that, at least get to know the local wild medicine herbs: where and when do they live, how they work...

Best of luck for the projects. It defo looks like you are having fun :D

The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking Satechism

The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking Satechism

Satechism= Casey Jones X Blue Satellite 2.2

I have been amazed to find such extremes in phenotype expression. I have seen the Casey Jones mom swallowed up in Sweet Tooth (?) looking expression.....and I have seen...perhaps...the melting together of BBS and Casey Jones.

I've come to understand that the Thai in Casey Jones is built off a Chocolate Thai platform.....the Thai in DJ Short's Blueberry is...I believe...built off a Chocolate Thai platform.

I've stated at least a few times....that I think Casey Jones blends well with DJ Short based genetics....go ahead and hold a pendulum over top of a mix of those genetics....and see if it doesn't do little happy spins. There is gravitation toward each other within the genetics. (lol...you also have to understand that I think Purple Urkel may be a related to Short genetics...sure some would think not but I honestly could see it)

Looking here....the taller plants are at day 58 and will be picked on day 60....while my squat example (there are a total of 4 squats and they all pretty much are like this one) is almost ready to start flush at day 44.

You would never know this was a Casey Jones outcross by looking at this stout (28") shrub....thick, sticky and stinking of overripe berries..she and her three sisters are easy as hell to grow and take care of. Harvest window looks like it will start right around 50 daze...but I'll push a little bit just to see and take them around 55.

Some shots of the taller sisters....they do not smell like the squat plants....undertone is stinky feet and the top is a sweet /fuel aroma...maybe a touch of perfume...like lavender perfume....but the stinky feet undertone is awesome.

Harvest window opened around day 55...solid flowers....solid yield...solid branching (they don't need the stakes they have)...solid resin production....solid solid solid.....

Cultivation wise there are no cons.....I prefer the taller phenotypes as I'm looking to blend Thai.....but the Sweet Tooth leaning specimens are interesting to me as well....just the fact that they showed up in the majority (4 of 6) makes them fascinating.

I got a total of 3 incrosses done (1 tall 2 short) and an outcross to Faye Dunaway (on the other tall pheno). I didn't pollinate two of the short expressions....because they are so uniform that I think I should have them covered....at least for my small garden and projects.

As these fade away...I'm turning my attention to ChemDDIX1, Blind Willy Haze, I-HOP Highend, and The Crunge...stuff I have currently kicking in flower. You ever do "The Crunge"?....going to be a gnarly one.

EDIT: All the Satechism were trained into shape only with use of quasi defoliation....no topping...no nothing...any stakes or cable ties were strictly residue/transition from my previous style....and unnecessary.

i had the crunge once, but the penicillin knocked it out....looking forward to seeing more highend again...

lol....I have some kind of lung crunge going now....my wife brought home a serious flu....and of course I picked it up...that's why I'm on here....day 3 of couch lock....friggin' sux ass.

For reals dude...I'm all stoked on these Crunge plants I have rotating in...I have so many favorites out of their batch. Counting on the DJ Short connection to bring me in....yet again.

I know many had problems with getting their Grape Krush to go....not me...I was blessed with savage males....one a viable mutant and one a robust beast. Of course I only had one mutant female...and those 2 males...but I still view it as a victory....paying off now.

T

THE PABLOS

only grown RM's grape krush f2's,had a nice looking male that mites got, three solid fems, good stuff...

Grape Krush was a Blueberry to me...I guess more to the sativa side it is predicted to lean. Personally...I couldn't tell as I had a mutant female...seemed like several other mutant Short plants I had grown before. Blind testing I couldn't tell you the difference between my mutant GK and say....some mutant Flo outcrosses I've had.

It was good...not great...I've never run any of her offspring. I liked Blue Moonshine better as far as a Blueberry. The GK males are a different story...I've been running many of their outcrosses....I think coming from the male side with Short genetics is the way to go....coming from the female side seems to burry me in Short expressions...for whatever reason....and that is not what I want.

I believe using Short genetics to breed with....can be very stupid...there are a few downsides for sure.

T

THE PABLOS

seems like a lot of the short stories,so to speak, feature at least one mutant, kinda like bad 50's sci-fi...

While I'm stoned here...I just thought about some Short mutations I have at this very moment.....and how they seem to find their way into my garden...even if further outcrossed.

Orange BrickHouse= Bogbubble x Red Eyed Bride X Calizahr

I have 2 females in veg....both have shown "Blue Line" leaf mutations (to keep it simple)...although of the slight sort.

A. Coming from deep in the Calizahr...possible

B. I read somewhere that the male parent of REB had a good chance of being Flo....though I've seen no signs or mutations in any of the several Brides I've grown...nothing that would remind me of Flo.

I'm thinking this Orange BrickHouse cross may produce some interesting fruit. I remember making this cross....pollen was flying that day...

What's next on the Pollination Frontier???

What's next on the Pollination Frontier???

Day 4 of working this flu out of my system...feeling shitty and weakened....

First look at I-HOP Highend= Straw Dog F2 X Highend F2

She is starting to get her flowers going...day 15....stout thingy...she'll be incrossed. I'm feeling Highend may dominate in this one.

An example of one of the ChemDDIX1 females....day 15....on the left and the Blind Willy Haze female on the right at day 22. The Chem will be incrossed and the BWH will be hit with ChemDDIX1 pollen.

Cough cough cough....this flu is fucking pissing me off

Onward...Blind Willy Haze= Wonder Haze X ELEBX1 x ChemDBX2IX1

So....in that one....there is plenty of Diesel and Chem genetics....I'm hoping for some beastie flowers built on a solid branching frame...a nice mix of flavors...that will harvest before 70daze. To me it looks like I'm on my way.

The ChemDDIX1 pollen I'm hoping will add to the Diesel/ChemD that is already in her....ideally kicking out more of the same expressions in her offspring....something that will be consistently productive and super potent....stable and easy to manage cultivation wise.

....Ok I brought out the 4 Satellite (Sweet Tooth versions) leaning Satechisms....day 45...girdled this morning to indicate that I'm kicking them into flush. They are very heavy for their size (28") and I must be careful moving them for fear of having their unsupported stalks snapping in 1/2. These girls are ultra stanky/sticky....If I had them on gas....they'd need support and I imagine....would end up looking like one big bud. NOTE: if you look at the 2 specimens on the right...you will see they are tagged...those were the 2 that were incrossed.

I'm going to germinate me some beans this week...it has been a long time. I'm going to do a nice sized run of Cleveland Sage...not sure exactly my plans for the run...whether I'll incross or just go for an all flower run.

Cleveland Sage= Prune Juice X Hummingbird

Hummingbird= Kali Mist x ChemDKush x Grape Krush

Prune Juice= Querkle X Grape Krush

Yup....there's that Krush binder again.....working further out and away.

Those Blue Sat 2.2 x Casey plants are looking seriously amazing brother! You were right, definitely a point of interest! They have great structure and you can clearly see the Swt influence, it somehow seems to dominate in most lines it's crossed into for some reason. I'm loving the container sizes! :canabis:

Really sweet sticky stuff going on in here I will have to do some reading!

Great grow show :respect:
