I start feeding weak veg nutes around 2 or 2 1/2 weeks. This has either been FF Grow Big at 1 tsp. per gallon or Better-Gro Orchid Plus, 20-14-13, at half strength. I had been feeding this through week 5 and was getting explosive growth, over 1" per day, especially during weeks 4 and 5. It is Stitch himself who recommended continuing the veg nutes through week 6. That should continue the fast veg growth for another week and potentially add another 5 or 6 inches vertical growth and increase the overall yield. I then feed flowering nutes through week 10 and then flush for 2 weeks.

I've yet to try this method. I've got some Onyx and AA at 10 weeks now so soon as they are finished I'll be growing some HBD and a few more Mi5 next. If successful I'm hoping to push the Mi5 to 3 oz. per plant.

truly a wealth of info folks. I can't thank you all enough. And it seems despite the generalized question it has been answered and-then-some. Muddy, Mitch, skotty, sandnut, iwanna, thanks all. This is more or less what I had expected. Did an awful lot of research into these a few years back, and seems things have been moving rapidly since then. Great to see so many doing wonderfully novel plants as these autos.

Keep up all the great work folks.

Peace

No probs mate,

As you say they have improved immeasurably the last few years.. and will keep on getting better with peoples hard work..

You have some benchmark figures from people now anyway, but you will have to run some of your own and draw your own conclusions :)

keep in mind folks that some of theese large yeilding autos go 3 months, no point to that unless there outside, inside u can finish reg strains from seed in the same time n have better quality.

Iwanna you make a good point on that length of time comment. This will be something I will be considering for sure. This is all great info and I will contiue research this more. I will have a room to do nothing but breeding and further trial and error with progeny. I thank you all again for the suggestions, especially the nute regimen. That will be of particular interest when running the first set of AF

Peace

i would say average yeild per plant is 20 grams, lets be honest.

Sorry, not to be rude, but even before I registred here I would see you make posts and/or threads asking what the top 5 autos are or something to that extent as if you were gathering info on what to begin with. my question to you is what have you grown? and how? unless the strain is a 'dwarf' AF, I see people get 20 grams EASY. If a whole slew of people are easily doubling 20 grams, why aren't you? and why are you blaming it on AF's?

Autos do have their place, even indoors. In my small area I could fit 2 full size plants tops. With autos I can fit either 6 dwarfs or 4 mid sized. Either way I'm getting between 8-10 oz. per harvest. I would be hard pressed to pull that much from 2 full sized plants. Plus I can grow the whole cycle under the same light, no need to veg and change bulbs or maintain a separate area for veg. As to the quality of autos, I'll put the Diesel Ryder, Onyx and Mi5 that I've grown up against any full sized strain for looks, taste, smell and potency. Mi5, in particular, is in the top 5 of most potent strains I've smoked, and I've smoked them all over the past 40 years.
