Welcome to my grow!

Setup:

I don't have the exact dimensions of the case, it is roughly ~21in. height x ~24in. width x ~6in. depth. The depth is what was killing me because a lot of the containers I had available didn't fit but I eventually found a perfect sized clay pot to go in there. Also, I have one exhaust fan and plenty of open holes for passive intake. Temps hopefully won't be a problem, the surrounding area isn't very hot at all. It's also pretty light proof for the most part, I have it under a desk so it doesn't really matter.

Seeds: Lowlife's Auto Blueberry - ordered from Sensible Seeds

Soil: Miracle gro Potting Mix

Lights: 1x 125 Watt CFL (I have both 6500k and 2700k that I will switch when needed)

Nutrients: Miracle gro Bloom Booster 15-30-15 (Will be used very, very lightly about 3.5 weeks in.)

pH Kit: General Hydroponics pH Control Kit (Liquid Drops)

Light Schedule: 19/5

Let me just say I fully understand that Miracle gro is not the best choice but it is all that's available to me right now so don't recommend to me fox farms or advanced nutrients, I know they're the best to use. Soil is soil and I figure that if i take care of them properly i should have no nute burn problems :) Before I put the seed in the soil, I flushed it quite a bit so the plant hopefully wont burn!

Day 1

1.) Case with the lights on. The reason some of it is aluminum reflective tape and part white paper is because i ran out in the middle of building it and was too lazy to get more, cut me some stoner slack haha.

2.) Pc fan - exhast. not sure how strong it is, kind of loud but not too loud.

3.) Case with light off.

4.) First pot with one seed - if you look hard in the middle you can see its popping up..I saved it! thats the one that dried out pretty bad but its making a nice recovery.

5.) The case with everything in and set up.

any comments suggestions..

Checked em today, was happy to see both sprouted above soil. Lookin green and healthy.

I have plastic wrap over them, should i remove it? or leave it on for another day..the seed isnt fully broken off the top yet and theres like half an inch between the plastic and the top of the sprout.

I left my clingfilm on when sprouting seeds. Until it was about to hit it then whipped it off and had it as near the the light (CFL) as poss.

pretty light proof for the most part, I have it under a desk so it doesn't really matter.
You want it totally lightproof. Or when you flip to 12-12 any light getting in will make it a hermie. Is anything covering the outside of your fan for example? Carbon sheet?

Yeah i'm gonna have to get one of those to cover the fan, thats really the only place light is getting out. And this is an auto flower so no need to flip to 12/12

Day 3

So i thought i saved the burned seed from certain death, however i came to the conclusion that there was no saving it so i just started another seed right in the soil of the clay pot. the one in the yellow cup is taking off nicely and looks green and healthy.

Nice case you have there:tiphat:
Did you say what you were using for soil mix? IMHO your soil looks like it would benefit from some perlite or vermiculite to help break things up a bit. This will help to absorb water as well as helping your soil to drain. More oxygen for your roots to enjoy! Grow on!

i was actually thinking about going and picking some up, because when i watered the clay pot yesterday the water sat on the top for a pretty long time...not sure if thats a bad thing though just noticing that it took a while to drain.

And i just noticed that the timer i have had plugged in doesnt work for some reason so its been on 24 hr light so i hope that doesnt mess anything up..gonna pick up a new one later today.

When your vegging, plants wont grow any bigger with dark time. Many growers that use high wattage, power consuming lamps will go 18/6 with there lights to save money. In a case like yours, if heat will allow, theres nothing wrong with having your lamps on 24 hours a day. But, when it comes to changing over to 12/12 for flowering, it is CRUCIAL to stick to your light sched. In response to your last post about the standing water when you water. If your soil is too hard, many times the water will find channels and use these instead of fully wetting everything. If you ever transplant or anything grab some perlite and mix it in there 1/4 and your plants will thank you...

Would 24hrs of light speed the veg time? I have always run 18/6, but not because of the $, I just thought that is whats best.

Following this one...

And for light schedule, my autoflowers get an 20/4 regime all the way trough. Plants need darkness to produce a growth hormone i've always read and been told.

Yeah for my next run i'll definitely add some more perlite to the mix.

Day 11

Growth seems like its picking up. I moved the yellow cup down a little so hopefully i get a little stretch so it grows above the rim of the cup.
