yes, his boy deserves to get social security for his condition. its as bad or worst then any other mental problem. pretty damn hard to make a living if you CANT leave your own house for days on end......

im lucky enough to have found the right meds and marijuana to combat my social anxiety. i still get it every single day of my life, but i learned how to somewhat control it, it only took 20+ years to figure out how.

I had quite a bit of social anxiety when I was younger and can definitely see how in extreme cases it could be debilitating, and i'd absolutely support someone in that scenario. However, as long as free money is to be had you'll have useless fuck's that try to take advantage, I don't think alot of people need that kind of support, but if they do who the fuck are you judge?
People have all kinds of really messed up problems, is extreme social anxiety really that difficult to believe?

I don't think that most of the people posting were addressing the validity of social anxiety. I think it had a hell of a lot more to do with these:

You gotta take social anxiety as a case by case basis. I happen to have severe SA and OCD, yet work well over 50 hours a week. I also know several others with major SA and depression that cannot. Also, once you get in the system, you aren't guaranteed that status forever.

Just keep in mind you will get the lowest quality health care, doctors will not give a crap about you and unless u already have a house, you'll live in a small studio with other social security people that can easily get inspected. If that is what you want, go for it, become an artist.

No it's not. It's a horrible problem. But, anyone who use to "hustle," (per OP) and plays on Facebook doesn't have delibtiating social anxitey. If you can go out and "hustle" you aren't so bad you are locked up in your room. If you are "getting your hustle on" then you must be able to function on a basic level in society.

Please, this is a freakin' joke. After my bone marrow transplant SSDI sent me a letter saying that I was eligible for disablilty. $1,200 bones a month. Fuck that I worked my ass off rehabbing so I could go back to work and become a functioning member of society again. If you can "hustle" you can fucking work.

That's ok though. Karma baby. Uncle Bernanke is going to serve it up on a platter.

This may be the case, but do no defend the OP because that is certainly NOT the case for him.

He clearly stated this his friend no longer has to 'hustle' on the side. He doesn't have social anxiety he is milking the system.

I did have to fill papers out so my kid can have medical insurance,my unemployment ran out along with my insurance.Luckily I own my home and the cupboards are full and theres plenty of wood.But believe me,theres more and more livin fragile check to check lives and needin help daily.
Bein an unemployed roofer at 46 and stuck where Im at isnt what I wanted but it is what it is.I commend all ya's holdin jobs,there aint alotta of em out there...yada yada yada...

kinda hits on what i mentioned a few days ago - politics via anecdote rarely goes anywhere worthwhile.

almost all of us respond in a manner where-in we put ourselves in that persons position, then argue our thoughts from there.

you've been there, so arguing from your position, there are aspects that actually make sense, where as somebody else that can't internalize what you know just sees a situation to talk about bootstraps. after all, from what they know, they were able to push thru - so why can't anybody else?

before i found some way to live that could equate an equilibrium in my brainbox, i actually found myself wishing my problem were something concrete - hell, to my mind at the time, cancer would have been preferable. it's actually concrete, people hear the word and know the hassles you're going thru. explaining mental problems...while having mental problems...it's a mobius strip in your brain. if you could explain to people what was going on, you wouldn't have the problem in the first place. it is the whole problem in a nutshell.

anywho, i'm not saying 'don't just put yourself in this person's position, filter all of your life experience into the situation, and make judgments/arguments based upon what you would do in another's shoes' - that's unavoidable. it's how this shit works. i guess i'm just saying that once you've done that, you've gotta recognize it's immaterial. you aren't that person, be you somebody that's lived thru it, or somebody who has a clarion call to bootstrap-pulling to fix all issues in life.

in other words, somebody i don't know may have gotten a lifeline he direly needed, or he may be gaming the system and the root of all ills in this country. i don't know which it is, and i never will. so...back to the bud porn.

I don't think anyone was knocking someone that really has social anxiety disorder. They were upset because of the comments about scamming for SSI and not having to hustle anymore.

If "his boy" is out "hustling" I can't see him having SAD. I know people with it that are really disabled from it. And they wouldn't be able to scam and hustle.... He made more of a joke out of it than anything else..... And his comments led people to believe "his friend" pulled one off....

there's exactly 1 reason i grow pot for a living.

it's because i can't find any other way to live, pay my bills, and keep my dog's dish full without twitching, being unable to breathe, and generally living thru a daily hell. it's the only way i've found to set terms on my interaction with the rest of the world where i'm in charge of when and how it happens.
