SO i am using the GH 3 part nothing else there in veg about 3 weeks. In the start i had a bit of nutrient burn due to my friend starting them on 2000 ppm when i was out of town dont ask. However i fixed it and they whre going good. BUT NOW the new leaves are turning yellow at the base moving foreward and they are thin and almost mutated I would assume sulfur but ph is 6.0 and all nutes where mixed exactly like the expert program says and ppm is 1200. To me this is weird because all the years i ran botanicare i never had that issue PLEASE HELP any one using GH. oh ya flood and drain in growdans

I also use GHE.
From my little experience, There is a lack of Magnesium. use Epsom salts.
When you begin to see bright color in the leaves, when of course, the other conditions are ideal, it's time.
you can also spraying the leaves with Epsom solution.

I have better luck with GH Flora Micro and Bloom only, no Grow. Also known as lucas formula. 8ml micro and 16ml bloom per gallon of water. Veg and bloom. (early veg is 1/4 strength. then half strength until ready for full.) Hard to imagine a sulfur def with 1% sulfur in Flora Bloom. Check the infirmary thread by MyNameStitch. I believe iron def shows at the top, yellow axials turn to green at the leaf tips.

***NOTE*** - Micro has to be mixed in plain water, then bloom. You can get deficiencies if you don't mix Micro first.

If you get N def, one might think the Grow bottle is what you need. Not with GH Flora, lol. Notice the NPK is 2-1-6. Micro is 5-0-1.

If you get N def with lucas, increase Micro while decreasing Bloom at he same rate.

I did not mix the micro first this time i mixed grow, bloom , micro. SO me mixing it wrong sounds right thank you i am going to flush and do the lucas formula I think that sounds cost effective and i liked what i read.

Glad to hear, that might be the problem. ~$12.00 a quart, can't beat that with a stick. If you're interested, check their website and see what their Flora-series samples include. If GH recommends supplementals, you could try them for free and see if you want to buy. There are 5 different supplements that come with Floranova. Might be worth a shot.

Only problem, their boxes are printed with GENERAL HYDROPONICS, lol. I forgot to ask if they had plain boxes and got the surprise from the UPS driver. That was some shit.

It is good information, I did not know about it.
Can you explain why ?
Maybe that's why I was not able to implement the "lucas", I have some success, there were deficiencies and could not identify what.

Can't answer why but it's legit. Lucas is generally 8ml micro and 16ml bloom - wire to wire. The way you deal with deficiencies is to adjust at the same, ml rate.

For example, if you have a Mg def - up the bloom, lower the micro

if you have a Ca def - lower the bloom, up the micro

It helps to know the visible signs of plant defs. There are pics in the infirmary that indicate what each deficiency resembles. The more experience you have, the easier it is to identify the symptoms.

So I've got this Mg def and lucas. I look for MG on the labels. Micro doesn't have Mg but Bloom has 1.5%. There's where I up the bloom, lower the micro. How much depends on the condition and testing may be necessary to dial things in.

For novice organic growers having difficulty dialing things in, I recommend a few rounds of non-fertilized potting soil and lucas. It's like a crash course of which element does what. Non-fertilized potting soil is like a blank slate and we know what's in the soil at any given time. This way we know whether we've got true defs or another problem like toxicity or even lock out.

Things are not as yellow still some curlling but that should fix with time. Stated lucas was thinking of adding the botanicare cal mag I have always used to the lucas what your thoughts on that.

Different strains can throw curves but I generally look for Mg hogs before adding Mg supps. I rarely run into Ca hogs.

Curling up could be heat related. Green leaves than curl down (ram horn) could be too much N.

If your pH is correct and MG defs still appear, I'd add CalMag. Otherwise, additional Ca and Mg won't be absorbed. It'll either build up or wash away with subsequent runoff.

Mg is one of the easiest defs to spot. Yellowing from the leaf tip and green leaf veins is the onset that can progress with old growth first. An advanced Mag def can burn the leaf tips, not unlike over feeding.

K def will burn the leaf margins. Like advanced Mg def (burnt tips), some growers confuse the burning symptoms as too much ferts. Not the case with these two elements.

After reading a bit, I realize that I actually use the GHE Europe. (did not know there's a difference between them)
Which is probably why I could not apply the Lucas formula.
According to the data on GHE site, I probably need to use the grow To get the dosages according to the Lucas Formula.
Anyway, it seems that apart from lack of magnesium, is an excellent fertilizer. Addition of Some Epsom salts Solves the problem.

I'm still excited about the discovery of "Micro has to be mixed in plain water, then bloom" Indeed it seems that.

Thank you kstampy, It sure would help.
I remember reading the formula, would not hurt to read it again. My problem was probably the identification of deficiencies in the plant, As befits an amateur.
I believe now that I know what I should do, If this works, I hope to open a thread to display the results of GHE respectively to Lucas.
Meanwhile, it works well with girls in the veg.

Many companys do this, canna and h@g are the same from what I've been told.
