Delta-9 HASH

Does anyone have any information on this process of hash making?

What I did is crushed up the dry ice and let it sit. then mixed and shaked it.
16oz of Purple Kush trim.

I used No water and 4 bubble bags.

I got 4 oz (160u), and 1/2 oz (73u and 25u)

Then ran water through the system and collected my bubble hash. :dance013:

Basically you were freezing your material with dryice, wich cools way better than water ice, then you did a dry sifting. But then why did you add water?

To collect everything that I didnt get scraped out.. the water washes everything that is stuck on/in the bags ....

hows the quality?

seems like a tremendous yield.

15 grams from 450 of trim...
3,5% yeld from trim....nothing new!

I'm very curious about the quality, i suspect too much freezing can powderize green matter.

Great experiment anyway...keep on!:tiphat:

The Quality is very good. The yeild was also very good.As with all keif the better the starting product the better the final product. This went to a Co-op.. people came back to get it, so everyone liked it. It had a great smell. The water hash that came out after washing the bags turned out crappy.Didnt get to much, Will be used in butter or something....

Hey, did you get that technique from my blog? ;)

I'm friends with the boys who refer to their product as delta-9 hash. I let the secret out... sharing is caring.

How'd it go for you? Looks great from here.

as far as i figure it, he got approx 15 grams of the 73 and 25, but also the ounces of 160 micron. so depending on the 160's quality we are talking a much higher % of return right?

Delta-9 hash as found in dispensaries is made with very little agitation, very low yields. Yield and quality are generally at odds when it comes to concentrates.

WORD! Glad someone out there is reading :)

I had to pry this story out of one of the boys. We went to check out some new dispensaries and got all baked. Here is the background on Delta-9. Three friends got this idea from someone, they had heard through the grapevine of a scientific paper about this technique. Here is that link:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1080397/
A Rapid Method for Isolating Glandular Trichomes
Abstract
A physical method is described for the rapid isolation of plant trichomes, with emphasis on stalked glandular types. The technique involved breaking frozen trichomes with powdered dry ice and collection of glandular heads by sieving from larger tissue fragments. ...

So these boys start trying it and fine tuning the technique. I worked with two of the three at a dispensary, just call me Fillbo Baggins. We did a lot of sharing on hash techniques, and melt factor for varieties. They figured out what varieties to run, and very gently made this dry-ice dry-screen. Then they figured out that they had a little niche market in dispensaries and blew that scene up. Which lead to a quick falling out, my nosy journalistic ass comes in, and now we all get to know how they do it :)

Bump

used 1 pound crushed dry ice for each run, with differing agitation times.

ran 1 pound of Blue dream trim through 190 mic bub bag for a 30 g return

today did 1 pound chem dog trim through 190 mic bub bag for about 18 grams return.

Hee, hee, hee, thanks for sharing!

Haven't tried this yet, but I most certainly will.

ive noticed that this method creates a distinct problem - condensation on the filter forms rather quickly leaving the filter caked with resin/ blocked up until a thaw and dry.

with that said its interesting to pursue and merits further investigation.
