Do I compile the stats? lol, no. But I have been checking the arrest reports weekly for the past 8 years or so and have had many conversations with people who have been busted here.

I spent 2 years living in Kyoto in the early 90s. Pot was hard to come by and very pricy, and not very good. When we were lucky we could find hash. You could, however, buy little bongs from vending machines, along with magic mushrooms and datura. I legally sold 2CB and Ayahuasca while I was there. Japan has some crazy very educated and enthusiastic extreme ethnobotany nerds, but I found the general level of awareness to be quite low. Its really odd, given how herb-centric their architecture, music, and art are. I am certain cannabis was used as an intoxicant in its past, but the records have been mostly scrubbed clean of it.

Japan is a wonderful place to spend a few years. You just have to be careful not to spend too much time here like me, because it really isn't going to help your life in the long run if you stay here for an extended period of time.

Now this IS interesting. Can you explain more. Do you feel that your enthusiasm for Japan has cost a price in time lost? I told you a long, long, long time ago to use your skills, make millions and leave. You can still do it.
