so you like perlite over hydroton

does the perlite backflow into the rez from the buckets?

how many times a day do you flood?

I place mesh screen on the bottom of the inside bucket..Roots grow right through..I have noticed that there is a layer of dust on the bottom of the outer bucket but thats all..Zero feedback to the res..As i have 7 different 55gal res's. I flood for an average of 15min per 1hr of lights on.

thats good, I would have thought there would be more than that.

I've grown in perlite before and used a 3x3 trellis. Some people say that larger plants grown in perlite have a tendency to fall over since its kind of soft. I didn't have any problem, I guess due to the trellis.

Do you trellis your canopy and do you have any plants fall over?

Hope you don't mind the q's, I've been curious about perlite in ebb&gros. Its so much cheaper than hydroton and available at hemp depot, and can also be reused but its so cheap it probably not worth the hassle.

The trick is to soak the perlite with the same LUCAS FORMULA ppm.then put the wet perlite into the pots literally mashing it down until you hear it crunching..Place your clone on the water line and fill the rest of the bucket with the wet perlite and dont mash as hard on the clone for obvious reasons..I pack them in in there good and tight..I also run 50 plants per 4x8 which in turn gives them a pretty dense environment..Most of the plants are able to support theirselves because i only grow to a max height of 2.5ft..CJ(SCHMOE)only exception..Plus my garden has EXTREME AIRFLOW which results in thicker branches..I never used trellis or SCROG but have had to use stakes with fishing line to keep some taller ones from falling down..I find under 2.5 ft they are able to support their own weight more.

Great looking plants man! I'm subscribed for sure! Stoked to see how these strains turn out for ya. Keep up the good work.

Yes thats why mine are still on....I LOVE PERLITE!!!FUCK HYDROTON!!!Im not even sure why people still use it..Ill never have another rock in my garden...EVER...Ph is more stable, perlite uses more water than hydroton,..and i feel the roots love the perlite..Only draw back is the light weight of the perlite..Had to tape it down to keep from floating until the plants rooted far enough down!!!
