Easiest way to make hash! Quick Wash ISO!

Not exactly made for human consumption, my friend. It's for external use only. Not saying anything's wrong with the ISO method, just that i prefer to use food grade alcohol if possible. Besides, that's what i had in the cupboard.

oh you must be eating it, because thats the only time it would matter. if purged properly it doesnt really matter the solvent (as long as its pure) all that matters is the final product. If you're smoking it, im pretty sure smoking alchohol is just as bad as smoking iso alchohol.

i hope so i have seen so many old guys let there shake sit in iso for god knows how long.

LOL yeah, they usually drink it and call it Green Dragon.

Mmm, chlorophyll and fertilizer flavored Everclear, yummy! At least water cure your buds before making long-soak tinctures guys, once you water cure some bud and see the crap that comes out of it you'd never drink "old" green Dragon again.

I make Brown Dragon by dissolving a couple grams of Iso in some booze or liquers, works great and has no nasty flavors. My wife cooks with it, about 4gr of ISO per batch of brownies or muffins and one bite is plenty strong. :)

ISO alcohol is a petroleum based product. It is not meant to be eaten or smoked. For years I made this bullshit before I found out how bad it is for you. Might as well smoke cigarettes.
Hey BHO guys butane is the same way.
not for any type of consumption.
Gets you high as hell though:jump:

That's what the purging process is for. Alcohol and water don't posess magical properties that makes them immune to physical conversions, like evaporation. Heat and duration will reduce a puddle of iso, acetone, butane or denatured alcohol into NOTHING. Not a film or a lump of goo, no mystery compounds left on the glass, NOTHING.

Now if you don't purge, then you're smoking nasty stuff and you probably can taste it. I know a guy that doesn't purge his BHO and I don't even smoke at his house, cuz he puts that crackling, spitting crap on EVERY bowl. Dumbass.

lazy you can get fully purged shit that crackles still, i have had it and it was due to water (i got the butane purged out completely as it evaps faster than water but the water took longer and was trapped in the erl, Aside from it being aesthetically displeasing, its fine)If you look at milkshots from people who know what theyre doing, many have those crackle fireworks from water in the photos, i couldnt imagine so many folks are smoking bho with residual tane. IMO the longer the purge the less flavor, so as soon as I get the tane out, i learned to not care about the water in it, or just let it evaporate over time like you said. To evap water as quick as butane the temp would have to be alot higher and Im not looking to kill terps and colour just to get water out, water dont hurt nobody.. unless youre in indonesia... or drinking out of a sewer.

I aint saying that ur "dumbasses" oils are purged or anything, just sayin it could be from water. If you extract into a dish and just let it sit rather than submerge it in warm water or put it on a heat element, it is going to condense ice crystals in the purging oil. Ice melts as we know. To avoid that i like to run into a dish thats already warm. So the dish is unable to condense ice. But this is no BHO thread.

the watercrackles suck, they do shoot bho bits everywhere . Ive never taken the time and patience to use anything that doesnt evap as quick as butane does. I assume youre very correct about the evaporation, if done right everything is gone, i was under the impression tho that alcohol has dessicants in it as well as as water. Say 91 percent ISO is 91 percent alcohol and 9 percent dessicants and water. so the dessicants would not evaporate, I can be completely wrong.

with some reading

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubbing_alcohol

"Isopropyl alcohol is oxidized by the liver into acetone."

id think from pictures its safe to say 75percent of those who make iso do it wrong and theres tons of ISO remaining in the hash.

FUCK ACETONE, i need my liver, its why i smoke and dont drink. If unpurged alcohol turns to acetone WTF does acetone turn into. scary.

also these nasty shits are in it.

Rubbing Alcohol contains in each 100 mL not less than 355 mg of sucrose octaacetate or not less than 1.40 mg of denatonium benzoate.

prolly why every iso ive tasted, taste like utter shit, I think these bitters are added so alcoholics and kids dont drink the shit. Ive never had a real proper good made ISO like ding does. The stuff looks godly. Ive been meaning to do an extraction like you say lazy, just leave the shit alone and give it time. I and many are always so eager to get a finished product.
peace and love.

There's no stopping me now... :whee:

Yep mine usually sits in a pan in the oven overnight at 200*F, if it's still bubbling it's got solvent or water in it, let it bake longer. You can tell by the smell when its ready, it smells like unsweetened caramel and not solvent.

oh and my buddies BHO, he smokes it minutes after blowing the tube out, it spits fire when he lights it. Pisses me off.

Lazy... when making qwet what kind of wash time do you use ... does ethel alcohol dissolve trichome as fast as isopropyl... ? :whee:

Bean using 20 sec. Did a second wash using everclear when i did the first with iso and yielded as much if not more... tiny bit of brown in the color though...

WOW. I need some cheesecloth. AMAZING GRIEVOUS.

Lazy hes not really your friend is he, if he was id hope youd stop him lol.

what bugs me is when people who dont know shit wont listen to reason. With a guy like you around lazy he should be making only the best.

I really got a have a go with this. Baking at 200 all nightt... gashh man. seems harsshh. intense heat, there a reason to decarbo and purge so high?

do you do the process in about 24 hours?

peace

thats why you purge all of it.... durp....

That is what I used to think. "ISO evaporates and doesn't leave a residue therefore it couldn't be bad for me."
Wrong. Purging does not make it completely safe just taste better.
Use everclear. Don't use anything that ends with "ane".

Any process difference if ya use Everclear? Shake or soak time?
I wanna give this a try in a couple weeks when I harvest my AKs. Also, I couldn't figure out if its best to use fresh, dried, or frozen cuttings/popcorn buds?
I do like the sound of using Everclear instead of Iso or other stuff.

so ur saying, it IS ok to use iso propaNOL... it doesnt end in ane.

sorry unrelated but

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hexane

it says hexane is used to extract cooking oils. Im sure its not the everyday joes extracting this shit for sale, just not ideal. So if business can do it and the FDA doesnt say shit why cant we. Ive also read about tons of people. not stoners extracting nut oils.

OH GASP

http://www.ecplaza.net/search/1s1nf5sell/hexane_food_grade.html

look food grade hexane... madee for extracting oils.. lol seems safe as hell to me man.

this is pretty bitchin as well..

http://www.tamisiumextractors.com/tamisium-extractors.htm

sorry i know its unrelated

People can do what they want.
I am just saying that iso, butane, and these other things that people think are safe are made from petroleum.
Everclear is made from grain.
It is sort of like global warming. Many people feel very strongly that it is not real.
NONE of those people are scientists.

These threads always attract this particular type. They will go on for 10 pages if you let them. You can't fix clueless.

sounds like bull. i would like to see some research to back that bold statement up. show me proof that my completely purged qwiso isnt safe compared to everclear oil. good luck.

I think a cigarette is more harmful than ISO or BHO properly made.

UGHH, they are scientists!

the people who make that FOOD GRADE hexane sure as shit are scientists bro, and the shit is made for processing food!

Ive never used hexane or seen the product, but for the sake its food grade im sure it is one of the safest solvents to use for something you are going to ingest.

this is from the butane extraction website, they follow state laws and are aware of them, If this was a harmful health hazard this site and okief would probably not be allowed to sell this stuff.

Is Butane safe to use for consumable products?
Acute Toxicity Level
N-BUTANE (106-97-8)
Non Toxic: inhalation.

Absolutely. Butane is non toxic and evaporates completely.
It is used as a propellant in non stick cooking sprays because it mixes with the oils and carrires them out of the canister better than other propellants, and it evaporates easily leaving a non toxic fume in the air that quickly dissipates away. When used as a propellant, as much as 25% of the volume of the canisters is filled with butane.
It has been used for over 100 years to extract out topicals and consumables for exactly that reason. You can use it to extract topical and internal medicine, perfumes and oils. Especially oils. It is the holy grail of organic solvents and really shines with aromatic fragrances and oils, especially volatile oils/essential oils. Butane is the only solvent that will extract the aromatic and total essence of some flowers such as lily of the nile.

Component Carcinogenicity
None of this product's components are listed by ACGIH, IARC, NTP, DFG or OSHA.
(surprising)

Is Butane State or Federally Regulated?
U.S. Federal Regulations
None of this products components are listed under SARA Section 302 (40 CFR 355 Appendix A), SARA Section 311/312 (40 CFR 370.21), SARA Section 313 (40 CFR 372.65), CERCLA (40 CFR 302.4), TSCA 12(b), or require an OSHA process safety plan.

U.S. State Regulations
The following components appear on one or more of the following state hazardous substances lists:
Component CAS CA MA MN NJ PA RI
N-BUTANE 106-97-8 Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes

Is Butane harmful or toxic?
Due to the fact that butane would rapidly evaporate if inhaled or consumed, inhaling it should be considered lethal. Inhalation of any concentrated gas alone could be potentially fatal. Butane can displace air/oxygen just like CO2 and that could cause ashhyxiation. Breathe a mixture of natural air gases, not concentrated gases is a good rule of thumb. MSDS N-Butane full spec sheet.
NFPA ratings give Butane a rating of 2 for Health, 4 for Fire and 0 for reactivity.

Butane is non toxic and evaporates completely after extraction. It boils at 32 degrees F and will rapidly evaporate after being exposed to 80F room temperature. If you get any on your skin or face you should wash it out immediately to be safe. You may not notice any burning or anything but it is better to be safe than sorry. I have had butane on my skin and my face and in my eyes and if I did not know it was butane, I would have though I was sprayed with very cold water. However, we all can react differently. So always use eye protection when using anything under pressure or potentially dangerous.

They arent just making this up, Maybe im just gullible?

LOL, I wish everybody had paid attention in Chem101, this is such a simple process and chemical, nobody should be afraid of it.
