oh yeah, it tastes like the essence of whatever bud im using minus the plant matter taste. So like kush will taste kinda lemon limey and refreshing... mmm need to get me some more of that stuff. I can never find trim so im always using buds and its breaking the bank lol, i really wanna make a big jar full but i just cant afford it :(.

I live in so cal. Trim/popcorn buds are 400 a qp lol. I went to humboldt I got a pound of trim with 2 oz of bud which were fine for smoking and the trim was great as well. SHADY people break the bank not the cannabis, Its sad with all this medical nonsense that patients still are unable to aquire proper medicine simply due to their location, What pisses me of is california is california why cant i get my trim here for 50 a pound? The place where I purchased it had lbs upon lbs backed up.

I can understand what you mean by not afford it and its breakin the bank. Its a shame things are this way despite your location on the globe.

As to your oil, Id give you an award if I had the capability lol, just godly stuff, a man with your talent should have trim thrown at him like rice at a wedding.

I know what you mean about that lemony flavor of love. I ran an 8th of church trim/trash from buds i smoked, last night, got .4 and Im about to dab the last of it.

and Lol it kicks my oil made out of my homegrown whole buds ass and its only made from what I refused to smoke off the buds of some surprisingly good clinic weed. I need better genetics.:tiphat:

I object to your objection.
My objection is based on my multiple experiments with ethanol extractions from fresh plant material at ambient temp.
I described the results in the thread in my signature "Amber in 15 mins from cutting".
There is also some theoretical background posted.
I have compared extractions from fresh against dry and found extraction from fresh more clear.
And more, I found that rehydrated dry material gives more clear extract against dry one.

The weights I used were in hundred times smaller vs yours that is important for sure
especially in evaporation part where thin layer allows to purge faster and better.

iirc you used denaturated alcohol that probably works in a little different manner compared to 96% ethanol.

maybe you should let everyone in on your secret lol. that is that you really used butane to make that:laughing:

amazing ding, but Id say 99.9 percent of people cant make ISO like that. Its alot harder to make QWISO than it is BHO IMO and by make QWISO I dont mean shitty black diarrhea. I mean amazing golden goodness like yours.

For your inspection: just made today. My 4th attempt. The 1st looked like runny tar, The second was dark dark amber, but translucent and hard, like the fossilized amber that keeps insects for millions of years. The 3rd attempt gave me this amber powder like you see below. The only difference in how long I left the herb on the iso. The blond is 15-20 seconds shaking. That's it. One taste of this shit crosses the eyes of some long-time smokers that know their hash. I am proud to serve this shit.

jesus fuck that looks insane. Can you honestly say it taste like the flower? or does it just taste like honey oil?
Tastes like not much of anything. There is a hint of the underlying Bubba, but only enough to keep it from not tasting like anything, like a vape hit.

Peace out! :ying: :rasta:

wow, i just made something very similar today. this was made from old trim - from last year or even the year before. anyway, i just did a 20 second shake on this one. pretty dank but the yield was sub-par.

Also, wet trim releases TONS of chlorophyll instantly, I tried it and will never do so again.

Frozen alcohol and trim work the very best ...

If my trim was frozen while it was still wet, is that ok? Or do I need to let it thaw, dry, and then re-freeze?

I tried it with frozen fresh trim, hated the results. I recommend drying then freezing.

I dont get it what happens to the boiling water? do you actually heat up the plate with the 90% on it...isnt that flamable?

Given that this is a Qwiso thread, I will only mumble this, because I have never done a fresh QWISO. I have done fresh BHO and QWET, so some of this may be applicable.

Hands down, a fresh frozen BHO extraction has gotten the highest marks from volunteer test panels for flavor, but my fresh frozen QWET extractions got lower marks for flavor than cured QWET or QWISO extractions.

My own personal tastes are old and jaded, but fresh BHO, followed by cured QWET or QWISO exhibit the most plant flavor for me too, with the cured BHO having more hashy charteristics.

All really, really good, so what can I say?

But is it posible to get it at bit more firm ? its not easy to handle ;)

Yo bra, I was going to answer this ages ago but was stoned and forgot...

Anyway, I made that goop the first time I made it too. What I did was mix that tar into a bunch of shake from the bottom of the jar ( the stuff I make blonde ISO from now! lOl!) Cutting the shake in makes it a lot easier to play with. I'm still smoking that shit!

Peace out bra! :rasta:

Double-boiler. Pot of water boiling on stove, glass pie plate on top of the pot of boiling water, pour EtOH onto pie plate to evaporate.

I goes without saying... DO NOT DO THIS ON A GAS STOVE! Due to the above-mentioned flamability of the EtOH. By the way, even if you do this on a gas stove (with salt or a fire extinguisher next to you) think about this:how does flambé work???

It's not that scary. Just keep something around to put the fire out if something else catches fire.

been meaning to up this for a while. hopefully this helps people out a little with their oil color issues.

this is what color your first wash should be directly after filtration before evaporation. 30 second wash max.

this is my second wash, if your first looks like this your doing something wrong. probably need to do a faster wash.

When I go to scrape my qwiso out of the plate should it be totally dry or still a little sticky like honey... when is all the iso gone...?

My finish product is dark amber in color... still tacky.. and stronger than he'll...

Gonna do it again and get a finish pic later...

edit... it's actually light amber... was hard to tell in a little blob in my dark kitchen... it's quite pretty... still a little tacky though...

I've got about 50g (2oz) of dried trimmings and a 2L (1/2gal) bottle of 99.9% Isopropyl alcohol. Just put them both on the freezer to rest for the day.

I'm about to prepare a batch of qwiso, and I have pretty much all I need (lucky to have an electric burner on my stove).

Sorry if this has been answered before in this post (too long to read it all), but how much alcohol should I poor on the green matter? I figure that probably too much alcohol won't make any difference, only a longer evaporation time, but I'm not sure.

Thanks in advance for any help!

not for the rest of the day. for more like 30 seconds max for qwiso, otherwise your getting old man black wash.

Great thread. Inspiring, really.

I've been using Everclear for everything from partying to cleaning my pipes to bathroom disinfectant. Now i've found a new use. I like this better than ISO, but utilizing the same method. It's cleaner - just alcohol.

I dug through one of my jars for sticks and stems and left a lil bud in the mix for fun as well. A quick finger tip "grind" to oatmeal-like consistency, splish splash, it took a 15 second bath, filtered and boiled off the alc.

Nice honey-like resin chunk. Hardened up nicely, too.

About to go blast off and play some darts.

THANKS for the tips! :dance013:

iso is alchohol and water.

Not exactly made for human consumption, my friend. It's for external use only. Not saying anything's wrong with the ISO method, just that i prefer to use food grade alcohol if possible. Besides, that's what i had in the cupboard.
