What's new

My first grow/jounal (MK-Ultra!)

Kron - Thanks for stoppin by man!

UPDATE 12/19/10 - 15 days

Started adding Floranectar fruitnfusion to my feeding last week, hopefully it shows some nice resin production soon!

Everything is looking nice and healthy, although I'm starting to see some powdery mildew on my leaves:watchplant:
Gonna set up a dehumidifier ASAP and monitor them closely. As you can see, it's only a few spots that are affected but I want to put a stop to it right away.

Quick question:

I just purchased a 30 pint dehuey, and I'm curious what other measures I should take to get that mildew gone? I know keeping the humidity down will help but since there are spores I'm not so sure.
(This probably isn't the right place to ask actually, I'll also check the infirmary.)
Thanks!

Well, I'm on a short vacation and anxious as hell to get back to my garden! I have a great "babysitter" making sure they stay healthy while I'm away.
I set the room at a steady 35% humidity, and gave the plants a bayer aspirin foliar spray 3 days in a row before leaving. I've been gone 5 days and the mildew hasn't shown itself again! Hopefully that's the last I see of it. Anyway, I'm itchin' to get some new pics taken as I can imagine my MK Ultras are starting to fill out. See y'all soon!

Definately interested to see how this turns out 4 u brotha as i had once popp'd 10 MK ultras in a previous grow and sadly wasn't able to finish em due to unfortunate circumstances...

Sorry to hear about your loss, Kushaholic.
So, I've been gone for 6 days... Finally got back, and I couldn't believe the progress they've made! Starting to smell soooo tasty!

Don't have too much time at the moment to elaborate, more to come!

*Just figured out I shouldn't drag and drop the pics...:bashhead:
Thanks for taking a look!

1/05/11 Update

Hope everyone had a great new years! I know I did! Now I'm back in gear and ready to spend some more time with my girls.:jump:

These MK's are all showing some smelly, trichrome-covered, hairy flowers! Soon I'm going to have to take measures to support the weight of the buds. For now I just plan on grabbing some dowels, staking them into the soil and tying the branches to the dowels to secure them in place. For the future I plan on setting up a trellis of sorts to deal with these types of things.

I'm still figuring out how to get better pictures of the garden, but here are some photos from this evening:

The mildew issue from a few weeks ago is under control. (in the flower room at least). An aspirin foliar spray 3 days in a row and dehumidifier on full-tilt have shown to be effective thus far. I wasn't worried about spraying the flowers at the time since there were only a few pistils showing at the time. The plants appear to be un-phased!

The aspirin is keeping things at bay for the most part in the veg side, only spraying once a week when little spots start to appear. Eventually there will be another dehumidifier around for the veg room, but that will have to wait for the time being.

Once again, thanks for checking me out!

It's getting harder and harder to leave the room after tending to these ladies. Really starting to fill out! This MK-Ultra smells exactly how I remember it to smell plus a bit of a lime scent that is quite nice!

I topped out the Blue Moonshine and Super Silver Haze and those will be mother'd out. Very excited about both of the strains. Bogbubble is starting to show new growth for the first time since I acquired it. Not losing hope on that one!

I spent my morning cleaning out the popcorn, and pulling fan leaves from mother and the other flowering plants.
Here's Mother MK 36 days into flower:

This MK Ultra clone was topped a week into flowering as an experiment, and I really like the looks of things here:

The rest of the crew:

A freebie Sweet Deep Grapefruit about 2.5(?) weeks into flower, no resin production thus far:

Any input is welcomed and appreciated.
Be back soon with more updates!

Looking great Kaos. My Bog's have been going pretty slow. They look like they were cuttings that were taken after the plant had been in flower for between a week and two weeks. Mine are doing well and I just transplanted them up last night and they are looking great. You got me really excited about the MK's as well. Cant wait to see what I can do with em. Keep up the hard work.

Hey bro, that Mother MK is Beautiful!!
Love how ya have it as close to light as you do!!
Nice work Bro!!
Cheers

N. Kron - Thanks for the kind words man. I'm definitely stoked to see your MKu work.

Greenadian - Thank you kindly, she's a beautiful specimen! I'm probably keeping that stalk as a trophy after harvesting! I like to keep the plants as close to the light as I can too, with the air cooled hoods I can let them grow right up to the glass. Money well spent IMO.

Thanks for stopping by! Updates will be more frequent as these are filling out like crazy.

So a lot has changed in the last few days... Decided to throw in the first 1k hps (galaxy digital ballast) into flower side. The goal now is to have 2k HPS lighting, with maybe a 400mh or some fluoros to supplement the spectrum. Excited to get that in order!

So two days ago I gave the plants a dose of Gravity, and they've solidified a fair amount since then. Due to all of the supercropping I've done, nothing has really been drooping, but I duct taped a few branches together to reinforce them. It's ghetto, but I think it's going to work out just fine for me.

The switch was flipped last year (lol) 12/4/10. Tomorrow, day 40, I'll be giving mother her last feeding. Next week I intend to flush!

:jump::jump::jump:<----- that is what I would be doing if I were you right now! The jump up to 2k will be really great for the space that you have. Especially if you grow larger plants like your former mother there. With 400's you just dont get the canopy penetration that is needed to keep the lowers dense and useable so u end up with a lot of fluff buds from the bottom. Or at least I did when i grew tree style underneath my 400's back in the day.

Looks like you could give that momma one last hard feed with a booster if you wanted too before you flush. If shes at 40 days, you usually have till about day 46-47 (for a 60 day strain) before their water/nute intake starts to fall dramatically. Anyway, keep up the hard work, because its def paying off for you!

Excellent upgrade bro!!
Cant wait to see what the Ex-Mom
is goin to look like in a couple weeks!!
Cheers mang

I wouldnt start the flush...You are way early by the looks of your pics..Id wait atleast another 10days before i started..I think you will be beating yourself in the yeild department if you continue without more nutes.. Otherwise excellent!!!!!Be patient on the mk also..Ive taken it 72days..Matter of fact i think your a good 30 more days from harvest..maybe another 14 days of nutes and then flush for 2..Dont get too anxious, youve done well to get them to this stage..MAKE IT COUNT!!! WAIT TO CHOP TIL THEY ARE DONE!!

N Kron - You bet I was :jump: and I :dance013: whenever I enter the garden! Probably going to end up giving her another feeding before flushing, playing it by ear at this point.

Greenadian - I can't wait either my friend! Too bad we can't transmit odors over the web, this girl smells great. Thanks for staying tuned! Good things ahead!

N'Kata - Thanks for the advice... I've spoken with my friend who got me started on this pheno and he told me it was consistently a 56 day runner (give or take 2). I guess my setup started with less lighting and the mother is a big plant to put under 400s so its understandable how it'd be a bit slow to mature. Thanks for stopping by!

I'll be snapping some more photos tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Exactly..I have 1000w and it still goes 70 very frequently..With zero veg time..Maybe with yours so big the will finish alittle ahead of mine but not too much faster..Is your friend growing in the same type of environment? Id love an mk that finished in 56!!!!:tiphat: Wait do u mean 56 days from flower or the start of 12/12? My definition of 70 days is from the start of 12/12...

N'kata - 56 days from the start of 12/12. The environments are a bit different, lighting being the most skewed... His = 6,000w Mine = 1,400w total. We both use a different nutrient line, and he has about 9 years experience on me too. I remembered that my friend also likes to chop a bit early for the heady high.

Alas my friend your doing well no matter the environmental differences..Your grow is going well and im so excited to see your final product..MK is one of my favorites..The beauty of it is overwhelming..Taste is to die for..Im sure you already know that because look where its at!!!!

N'kata - Thanks for the compliments! I agree that MK-Ultra is a beautiful, delicious strain. I feel very fortunate to be able to have her to start out! Anyway, with zero veg time, what kind of yield did you pull from the MKs? I have 10 in veg that have been there for almost 2 months. Had to top a few of them out a few times... Can't wait to get them flipped!

Itisme - Same here. If they made MK flavored gum, I'd probably be buying it by the case. The high is pretty solid too!

Taking some new pics tomorrow afternoon.
