thanks for all the advice guys. anyways, i know it is my fault for fronting it to him. i gave it to him at the dispensary but it was a personal thing, it was not through the dispensary. he was like "yea, you know i do things on the side to and i can move it and get your money way faster than the club can. and you know i work here, i'm like here all the time." and he assured me he wasn't going to rip me off and he'd have my money for me in a few days. he responded to me the first few times i txted him telling me he'd have my money for me a few days later but then after a few days he stopped responding at all. i know his phone is still on cause it rings all the time.

and yes, it wasn't that much that i fronted but still enough to set me back a bit. but it's a loss that i suppose i could afford, it just sucks that i lost it. i could just chalk it up as a loss but i want to atleast find this guy and talk to him. i don't intend on kicking his ass or anything, i just want a response and i want to confront him cause the motherfucker won't even answer my calls. if i find him im going to ask him to give me my money or something worth what he owes me. if he doesn't, i don't know what i'll do. i haven't decided on that yet. but i myself am a very peaceful person. i don't fuck with people because i don't want them coming back at me.

But hey, you're legal, he's legal, you're both members of the same co-op... you had an oral contract to be compensated for your time and cost of growing... he breached. It should be a contract law case right?

True... how does anyone prove any transaction took place in that case... he has his phone numbers and he talked to you for a bit, you can show the phone bill, try to get him to text something where he admits to owing you the money. Get his address and send him a bill or two... this is a legit transaction. Chances are he would be a no show in court and you'd win a judgment you'd have a slight chance of collecting, but it'll fuck with him, you won't get arrested and you might even win and collect. Next time get a copy of the rec & DL, write him a receipt, remember... you're running a non-profit business.

You do (He does) have texts admitting to owing him money... don't erase them.

technically you were two legal patients growing collectively (Nobody's going to get arrested for going into court and saying this), he orally and in writing (text) agreed to compensate you for the cost. (I doubt he's gonna say in his answer "No Judge, I was gonna sell it on the black market")

Call up a lawyer and ask for an opinion on it... what's it gonna hurt?

If you can sue the police to get your weed back, you can sue him.

I feel for the OP too. Getting ripped off is a bummer. However, revenge is usually a waste of time and effort so I think the OP has to live and learn.

It happened to me, but not over weed, when I was a student. I lent about £180 (a lot to me in my student days!) to a friend of my house-mate for his share of a house deposit.
Needless to say, I never saw a penny of it. Lesson learned.

I still lend money to people from time to time, but they have to build up a "credit rating" first. It worked for me - this "friend of a friend" borrowed a couple of quid for a burger one night but didn't pay me back. I wasn't worried about the money, but I didn't forget either.
Anyways, about a year later, I got a call from him out of the blue asking if he could come see me - I kinda guessed what it was about. Basically, I invited him round and then let him squirm for a good hour and a half while he was trying to convince me of some BS (might even have been legit for all I cared) business plan or another and Could I "lend him some money?". At which point I reminded him of the two quid he didn't return and showed him the door.
Very satisfying indeed. No violence or destruction, just psychological torture

I went to dudes house that I thought it was and saw in the back of his pick up dirt and leaves from my shit! I called the cops, said goodbye to the weed, but dude went to jail for 5 years and is still there, lol. He had priors. 5 years in jail really makes you think about your actions, especially when you are getting ass raped.
