Advice On Protecting My Genetics

Hello, Just a question for the common sense veteran's out there, please. I have a strain I want to protect. What is the best way to record, document, and patent my strain(s)?

Are there any breeders who have attempted to copyright their seeds and cuts? Many of us foresee upcoming industry theft and genetic appropriation becoming a huge problem soon-much more so than what has been encountered so far and by corporate monopolies who have legal teams on salary. Other than DNA testing and documentation, what would the process for the independent small businessperson be?

2. it's impossible to patent a variety without DNA splicing.

3. you can patent the name,, that's all

4. the moment you sell the genetics,, someone else (the buyer) owns them!

Polyhybrids cannot be protected under a PVP, they simply do not fit the requirements for stability.

Again- individual, unique, plants can be patented by the person who grew them from seed. However, they must be unique from all other registered varieties or clones in their defining characters. Since your plants fail these requirements, you cannot patent them under a Plant Patent, and have no legal claim to them or their use.

imo the only real way to make sure your stuff is not passed around is to be the only one growing it! Otherwise you have lots more people with "clones" getting taken and oops one just happens to float to harborside and then its blown up like blue dream!?!

Here in spain is much I practise piracy of genetic, the so called banks of seeds, the great majority, it devotes itself to pirate everything, the clons search for the forums and then they revert them, extracting thing, as if they were his, the fault belongs to the people, for not buying original things and raises, stay to better price, that the seeds pirates.

Nowadays few banks want to extract nothing new, since other banks are going to pirate it, all the genetic ones go out in feminized, since it is very difficult to copy it, the works are not respected of anybody, every year that finds it hard to stabilize anything, in three months already to copied, here in Spain the thing already is of shit, they all perform cuces the same thing and it is copied in bulk, faces cost more the seeds you feminize (F2) that the original (regular) some, about this topic I can speak very well for that I have royal and trustworthy information, if someone has some doubt, we it can discuss, in this topic I like that were positioning the breeders, since this topic worries them.
