well thought i would start a new thread on the new grow well after all the problems on last grow looking forward to a good grow this time round and if not have fun trying .
Any how gone has the 1.2mx1.2m tent and ive built a room 8ft long x 6ft wide 6.6 high havent decided if to go with 4 600w or 3 i surpose it will depend on room temps
Ive got 13 plants on the go , which when the room is ready will go in 2 systems
SYSTEM 1
6 plants will go in bTwo 48" x19" nft trays both laid long ways to lay the full lengh of the room.
SYSTEM 2
The rest will go in 7 10lt pots with 200mm net pots bolted to the pot lids there is an air line an stone running to each pot there is a 15mm inlet line running to each bucket each with its own control valve as well as an 19mm out let line these are at the top of each bucket but on opposite sides and the outlet is about an inch lower
The outlet line connects to a 3" pipe which runs back to the res there is also 2nd 15mm outlet line in the bottom of each bucket which will be used for draining the system this also runs back to the res and can be used if i wont to run a differant system like flooding and draining each bucket
The res is 200lt it is self topping as and when needed there is a stop valve a the start of the 15mm inlet pipe to cut system off aswell as being able to use it to get the right flow and pressure in the system the idea's came from a few posts and a friends system so time will tell but it been fun putting all together
Now for were to place all the plants well ive bulit a frame for the tanks and buckets the tanks are going to be an 7ftx 3ft scrog which will be horizontal and the bucket which will be higher up and lent on a 45 degree angle this will be the 7ft x 3ft vertical scrog both scrogs will be joined together
I hope i ant took to much on for my 3rd grow and being only my 2nd hydro grow and first time hydro not doing that great (my own fault trying to medal to much)
Well at least i learnt a few thing last time what not to do.

just a few pics nothing in order yet still a bit up side down but things are getting there a few more days and i think it will be done we've got lots of snow at the minute so its hard to get to shops but we'll get as far as we can ill up date again when ive got a bit more finished cheers EASY

just a quick update well finished the buckets of all pipe work is done with no leaks all i had to do was ajust each tap to each bucket so there was a even flo to each tub both outlet values on each bucket work ok aswell, as ive said i will only use the bottom outlet to drain or clean the system when needed
The self topping pipe is fitted and works a treat so its all systems go .
Both nft tank are filled and both system have got the girls in and are ready to go just the air cooled lights to go up aswell as the fans and filter then we can cover what i need to with the reflective sheeting . then the fun starts to build the horizontal an vertical scrog
Right the strains im going with this time are as follows.
system 1_

1 NEW YORK CITY DEISEL
1 WICHES WEED
1 CINDERELLA
1 SSCDH X CHEESE
1 BLUEBERRY
1 not sure

system 2 _

1 BLUE BERRY
2 NEW YORK CITY DEISEL
2 CINDERELLA
1 ROCKLOCK
1 not sure

Well there's the strains this time i think that the 2 that im not sure about are either blue cheese or ak47 but as i said im not sure and the reason for this is a friend had a visit of his landlord and to cut along story short he chucked 9 plants in the shed with the pots on top of each other when he gave them to me they was all squashed and snapped and been in temps of -3 and no light for a couple of days , i managed to save 4 out the nine with a bit of trimming and some sticky tape .
Well that was 10 days ago now my only other problems is im not sure if the ak47 or its blue cheese that lived , aswell as there in soil and ive got no room for soil on this trip so as you can see in the pics ive posted with this post ive washed the roots to get all the soil of .Now time will only tell if they live or not.

well just another quick up date well room is up an running the system 2 is running smoothly each pot refilling about 12 times an hour ive noticed all plants have picked up after being transpanted to there now homes both vertical an horizontal scrogs are now up and fitted ,not sure how long to veg for if anyone can tell me how much of the scrog i have to fill up befor i can change the light cycle to 12/12
and when do you stop training is it 2 weeks in to flower if anyone can answer them for me it would help lots thanks beforhand.
Write back to the room lights are up just the fans an fillter and the odd bit here and there then sit back and enjoy ill post a few pics let us know if you can see owt im doing wrong thanks for looking in

plugs are a bit mad but it all works there a few more to go in there yet the res is in there aswell


in made this gauge on the res top up tub that way ill be able to tell daily on how much the res is needed to be topped up














a few pics off the consruction of the lights and scrog as you can see not much needed to finish of if i could give 1 word of advice from my experience of buliding a grow room is make a plan stick to it finish it and once youve tested it then put your baby's in
I didnt plan it my plants was the first thing in there and i was at the shops every day buying bits how much easyer it would of been if i'd planned it out common sense really so why dont we use it too much ganga

scrog how much to fill in

i would like to no how much you fill in befor you switch to 12/12 ? and when do you stop training ? i was led to belive that you dont let any thing grow above the scrog grow until the stretch is over then you let your canopy grow

I like to keep everything under my screens untill about 75% full, flip then fill out the rest and let them grow above the screen. It will depend heavily on strain, Indicas you might want to completely fill the screen before flip. In the end I want 1+ foot long colas above the screen so it ends up like a massive SOG. The hard part is cutting everything below the screen after stretch, I always feel like I'm wasting plant but do enjoy the increase in airflow and decrease in humidity.

Thanks pal that helps . the strains im running all run for 7 to 8 weeks and are all same size apart from 2 or 3 which i didnt do on my only other 2 runs so we'll see anyway cheers for the info just got to put it into practise now cheers EASY

well thought i would post a quick update well things seem to be running smoothly so far well i put the fan to the lights i decided to put it pushing through the lights rather than pulling its keeping them cool my maximum room temps are 25c and the dark period it been as low as 8c i now this is not ideal but theres a heater in there otherwise its below 0c water temp are 21-23c when lights are on and when there off its goes as low as 18c
I know my lights out temps need improving but still the girls seem to be growing ok .
As well as the 6" fan to cool the lights ive put a 4" fan to bring in fresh air ,i will all so be adding another 6"fan and fillter but its not really needed at the minute
Ive all so taken the shade of one of the lights and hung it vertical it seems to be a lot brighter too bright that i need to switch it of when i go in there .
all thats lefted to do is a bit more silver sheeting needs to go up and ill do that when i can get to the shops to get some more .
One thing i have i noticed is i think the vertical scrog is going to be a lot harder to fill ,harder is proberly the wrong word .what i should of said is take a lot longer to fill but we'll see well thats it for now i post a few pics with this post thanks for stopping by if you've owt to say i'd like to hear it and if you have'nt never mind thanks for stopping by anyway

here a few pic of the lady's some was 3 days ago and some was last night the horizontal scrog im noticeing growth on a daily basis but the vertical not as much but they are a few weeks younger so we'll see

just quick photo update from the 23-12-2010 i've highered the lights so i can have a better look still haveing problems with my lights out temps even when the lights are on when its at its coldest outside .

just a quick update well i switch lights to 12/12 on the 23rd and some are just starting to flower i've switched the nutes in both systems
System 1 canna flores a+b at 700 ppm - ph 6.2

System 2 to vitalink bloom a+b at 850 ppm - ph 5.8
that was a couple of days ago the ppm's i got was from the dosage on the labels
The vertical scrogg is still lacking behind the horizontal scrogg but thats more down to veg time and topping the hell out of some of um well thats about it ill post a few pics aswell as a few of a fogger cloner i made dont no if it will work but we'll see .

1 10lt bucket
2 plant pots
4 40mm plastic t joints
1 clear plastic dome
12"x12" plastic corrie board
12"x12" piece of reflective sheeting
1 mini fogger

I cut the 2 rims off the plant pots 1 to make the rim of the plastic dome as i had to cut it down to size it made it a perfect fit aswell as make it more sturdy and the other to make a tray for the clones to sit in
i cut all the ends of all the t joints to make pots for the clones to sit in take a look at the pics you'll get a better idea of what i mean
I've also done a second dome for it with a built in 23w cfl light so not sure to go with the light inside the dome or outside any surgestions .
Total cost without fogger £8 with fogger £22 now to see if it works any better than the way i'm doing it now with r/w cubes and clonex

we'll see if it works next time i update i'll have some baby;s in it

well just a quick update ive planted the babys in the cloner and ive added the fogger ive decided to go with the light in the dome now ill sit back and see if it works here's a few pic of it in action

Nice cloner, it'll be interestng to see if and how it works. I'm assuming the mini fogger raises water temps which should help pop roots faster.

ok matey , cheers for stopping by well the water in the cloner stays at room temp there's no heat from the fogger ive only got a cheap 15 minute segment timer so i done it 15 on and 30 off and with the fogger only on for 15 minutes i dont think its got time to get warm i also decided to go with a 250w hps outside the dome about 15" above
