Good info guys Keep it coming...

Mabe overdrive and bug Igniter are the replacements from AN for hammerhead????

Any thoughts on them,

It seems bud candy and bud factor x are much the same from the label!!!!

I got some vintage bat guano that is the same N P K as the Overdrive I think.

As herbie says, Sulphate of Potash is available in garden centres.

Superior Potash and the old AN Hammerhead have the same two ingredients - monopotassium phosphate and sulphate of potash. I make my own from those salts.

Easy simple recipe is to put 100g sulphate of potash and 85g of mono PK in a litre bottle, top up with distilled water and shake it till the potash dissolves, I used my old Hammerhead bottle to make mine and it works the same.

Overdive and Bid Ignitor are completely different to Hammerhead. Same thoughts on them as all AN products - they are shit and a rip-off, more diluted than other companies and lower quality ingredients.

I understand that they are a rip off but the fact that the products are tested for use on Cannabis,, insures the proper amounts of N.P.K in the correct dosage for optimum performance apparently .. Do we need the extra ingredients??

I always thought that an opened bottle of super thrive was not as good after the salts start to concentrate and the water evaporates, this isn't a problem with AN products but is with most brands it seems,

Just remember you can get a whole range for free from AN if you ring them tell them your not happy..

Top company!!!

Hey check out this little regeime from CX.

BLOOM
Weeks 3-4
1. Change nutrient to Ultimate Indoor Coco Bloom
2. Keep using Regen-A-Root at 1ml/litre
3. Keep using Wilt Guard at 1ml/litre.
4. Keep using Bio Balancer at 1ml/litre
5. Begin using Head Masta at 1ml/ litre
6. Begin using Superior Potash at 1ml/ litre
Week 4
1. Rox at 3-5mls/ litre according to the directions on the bottle.

Week 5-8
1. Continue the programme as in weeks 3-4 of the bloom, excluding Rox
2. At the end of week 6, drain the system and add Superior Potash at 5mls litre for the whole of week 6. DO NOT ADD ANYTHING ELSE DURING THIS WEEK.
3. At the then end of week 6, revert to the normal programme as in weeks 3-4.
Flush as you would normally do in weeks 7 and/or 8.

-----

Obviously not interested in much there, esp the ROX. Nasty stuff.

But I was wondering about the week 6 app of just Superior Potash at 5 ml / L with no bases. Then week 7 back to normal...

What do you think about that FM? 5ml / L seams very high, may give it a go.

sounds intresting this concoction of nutrients.....i know that potash works wonders on outdoor plants .. but that concentration seems a little high?? for 7 full days.... if they dont burn the buds must get hugh....the ash really helps tighten the outdoor heads so i guess the same rule applies to indoor grows

Try it out Herb see how it goes, i may try it with the Top Booster.
Just check the cf and make sure its not too high, i cant remember the last time i used my cf meter i usually feed on the lighter side unless they want more like the Casey she gets quite hungry in flower...

hey Dr.D have you tryed any other additives from H&G.......i've tryed the roots excelurator and its great , i'm now wondering about their other products for flower production..i currently use AN full line and get fairly good results IMHO and was curious how the H&G full line fairs against AN full line.....wow what a comparative grow that would be..

I'm not Dr D. (sorry to jump in),, we tested the House and Garden 1part arde (when they released it) for a buddy that ran the range but had no use for that bottle ... it was OK. Overall the shooting/rooting powder got the best feedback :D

About the same time my other buddy ran the whole range of Advance Nutrients (for free) courtesy of Tech-Mike, the then telephone customer support advisor. Good company ethic,, but my buddy needed a degree in chart reading (and making) skills just to keep the fermenting buckets dialled.

Otherwise AN and H&G are suited to different types of grower / garden IMO.

Hope this helps

I have done the whole AN line up Monkey Juice next to H&G.

First An cost me about £450 for everything.

H&G was about £190

As for finished product and weight, I am still using H&G. I test things out from time to time, but I do not think you can beat the H&G line.

I personally would not attempt the 5ml / L on the Top Booster. I think that really would fry the plants.

All in all, H&G produces way tastier, healthier, cheaper, bigger crops. Without doubt. As most who have compared the two lines will attest.

well doc i tryed the roots excel and for the price and mixing ratio's IMHO its better than pirahana for the fact that a bottle goes a long way apposed to a 500g format of pira thats only lasts 1 1/2 runs(veg/flower)....
as per shooting power never tryed that either..comes in a box of 5 sachets and used for only 3 days in flowering must be powerful stuff.... i'd like to see some pics but im having trouble locating threads with the H&G as a base nutrient......

thanks for the tips DOC...you da man:bump:

im sure it was some dinomite smoke ......

REALLY? as for the price of nutrients their BOTH kinda expensive if you ask me, but the mixing rates that H&G have is extreamly low opposed to lets say sensizym at week 4 calls for 10ml/L.....
i've used this feed at full strength on a run of LUI's and let me tell ya that was a great harvest with lots of "gift bags" to go around....

im still very curious about the H&G full line i would like one of these days try out some more of their gear........

thans for the responses guys:wave:

A little info:

A little info:

Cannabis is a weed..It thrives in the poorest conditions in the wild without any provisions what so ever and yet we all pump it full of high priced formulas is perfect surroundings I know through testing that the difference in lamp light to sunlight isn't the key factor because some plants won't grow well outside vice versa!!

AN can be purchased in small sachets and it is in correct doses that 1 use per cycle is ample unless your medium is inert and you rely on liquid feed, I say also that the piranha is a top product my tub is 3 years old got 2 more runs left,, some people just can't help over feed and burn things or get a lockout and complain about improper application always brew AN before using its makes it 20x stronger (active) not E.C stronger I can get the range cheaper than £190 and it will do 2 years of back to back growing while pushing the limits,, where possible the nutrient calculator is inaccurate,, because you can test it yourself I know that 10 ml per ltr of sensizym isn't needed in week 4 so I don't add it,, same goes for most 1 application to healthy plants is more than ample in a good soil in perfect conditions!! Mabe just cut the base down or out I mean the plants will grow with nothing too much inoculates them and ruins the grow/smoke look and see what your plants need it may be a break!!!

1 cap full is 12ml approx Mabe 1 cap of everything but base in 20 ltrs for a strong feed ,,Your base want to be 1/2 what they say.. on the light feeding.. If you think it needs food it doesn't if it does then its not much good. Some times mine go 8 days with no water, 15 or more when growing without food, I find it better to spend all day to find out what Go On in the root-zone with soil test kit rather than fill the trays with run off and never know prevention is a key to success, also the amount of leads per sq feet helps with double the light more so than any food or other technique as this is what cultivation is growing bud not stems and leaf, the canopy will absorb the light an make photosynthesis happen faster vigorous growing thus more efficient use of nutrients,

My last run I fed last on week 4 water with molasses for a week then water for a week no run off ever,, day 56 they got chopped nothing for ages and even the grow shop owner said that it was Proper!!!!

Hey Vince, i havent tried any of their other stuff yet but will be running it side by side with Canna. Iv only ever heard really good things about H&G products i think they are probably one of those overlooked companies.
Iv used quite a few of AN's stuff over the years and still have all the bottles because ive never found any of it to really do anything. I think their Sensizym was good in hydro but found it didnt do much in coco?

Hey Herb i didnt mean giving it 5 ml lol i just meant cutting everything else out and using the just the Top Booster..
Ive been using the Potsil for a couple of weeks now, how are you finding it Herb?

Anyone got any idea if calcified seaweed will dissolve in water? I have a Dagestani plant that needs a lot of Calcium, been feeding it Calcium Nitrate in veg but it's 20% N so no good in flower after the early stages, hence I thought I could give it some calcified seaweed. I'm growing in coco so no adding the calcified seaweed to the medium. I put 500g of calcified seaweed in a 2.72 litre milk bottle and gave it a good shake. I'll leave it a few days and keep shaking it. Will it dissolve? Is there anything I can do to help it dissolve?

To be honest mate you gone about it wrong I know your in coco and that you didn't add it to the mix but that isn't its best application farmers usually till it into the topsoil or on a 3 ltr pot you want a handful and cultivate it into the top 3 or 4" surface of the pot and water as usual.. Early applications can be left to water in. It is best used in the final potting mix when using heavy soil it can be used as a boost whenever and gives an increased number of trace elements and it doesn't wash away and it helps colonise soil bacteria to make humus. Adding an air stone may dissolve it may not,:D,, calcified sea weed is used instead of lime to correct ph

Do not use calcified seaweed on ericaceous plants such as rhododendrons, azaleas, blueberry, heathers etc.. unless a higher pH is required. these need to be between 4.5.5.0 ph

Vince. You too are confusing the Top Shooter and Top Booster.

it is the Top Booster that goes for 3 days only. This is a pk13/14 with added iron.

The Top Shooter (sachets) and Shooting Gel go from say week 6,7 and 8. Then flush.

Very good products that add alot of weight and turps.

Dr. D. No need to cut everything else out when using the TBooster. I do not think that would be beneficial.

Yeah loving the Potsil. Only use it say 1 or 2 x a week. Seams to creating really thick, health stems. All good so far.

H&G is for sure one the best nutrient co.'s out there but due to lack of exposure their not a household barnd .. just more word of mouth between growers(at least in my parts anyways).......
as per the AN's stuff not doing anything...I respectfully disagree, ive seen many grows done with many different base nutrient lines ...optimum,canna,dutch master gold , bc grow/bloom..(but not H&G) and to be honest the majority of the growers using different nute lines Still use multiple additives from AN...im not sayin other co.'s stuff isnt good........lets face it..not alot of growers like AN products or the Owner AN big mike..mainly i think that their over confident and thier gear is expensive....BUT IMHO it does the plants Wonders

much respect for you DR.D..

yes sir i appear to be mistaken....but dosent the TB get applied during WK 5? and your right SP from WK 6-8.....any Opinion on the Algen Extract from H&G??

No mate, isn't it their version of PK 13/14? If you fancy, I got a recipe to mix your own PK booster out of three salts you can buy at most good garden centres.

nah, i dont think it is a pk13/14.

it says it can be used in flower too.

it says it is a bio-stimulant used to increase the activity of beneficial microorganisms resulting in increased nutirent availability and soil bioactivity.

also it says do not use with any other foods or additives or i can lead to overfertilisation.
