Is OG kush a sativa or indica?

Guest 168361

so for all you kush haters.....what is a better strain???.....hawaiian snow, la confidential?

I

Iron_Lion

i dont know what it is but it meets all the criteria

stink
density
bag appeal
penetrating flavor
and strength

Its a weird one tho, grows like a vine and has dense bud balls like an indica.

hmmmm love love love og kush. seems to me a hybrid of both...you have something like tahoe, which to me is the most indica of the og cuts ive tried...then you have the valley...leans much more to the sativa side of things...tom hill smokes blue dream? really? man, just bizarre how cannabis affects diff people, ive had, i dunno, 20-30 samples, maybe more, trying to like it, i really am, but i think its the crappiest commercial big name strain to ever hit cali....proof that you just gotta smoke a strain for yourself to really know:)

It is an indica, in that it sucks, lol. Just more broadleafs that are boring as hell and a waste of my time - Now I understand what Sam and RC are complaining about. This year I grew the TK OG, the Chem4, the Bombthreat Bubba, the Blackberry Kush, Alien, Valley, Tahoe, on and on and on, some powerful, but all boring as hell. Canned em all, every single one. Red eyes, cotton mouth, stupidity, drowsiness and dizziness, a Mexican nightmare -dirty, muddy- and screw all that imo. I find myself reaching for a mediocre hybrid in BlueDream time and time again.

Tom i'm sorry your system reacts to the og, chems, alien....etc in that way, however i had a thai/og that took me on a rocket ride, no ceiling as well as an ogxsd not the bullsh#t we see now a day, but a real fine x of it. again rocket ship ride no ceiling..... i find what i choose to do while i'm on a strain has something to do with how i react to it as well. also i have to admit if you had some of the med from my friends grow of these same things you might not feel the same.

I'm just pissed because I felt I cast a fairly broad net this year to check and see what was floating to the top of other trips, and came up with squat to my liking. To each his own I reckon. Back to the old drawing board for this kid though.

sub Rob? didn't see you there. speaking of blue dream, i was at a get together back in august when the very cut i'm about to mention, a cross of blue dream and green crack came up. i just got a sample of it, i'm going to decide in a minute if i'm going to take green dream into my garden after a smoke, i'll report back.....

hi tom ,
imho a lot of the indicas are really just for making hash , a few thousand plants together with their individual characteristics make a decent toke ..
sativas are the real smoking goods , made for the guy who likes to toke and think .
im with you that most indicas lack the character that we like in a smokeable product as individual plants ,
ill take a good sativa every time ...

Very interesting that TomHill didnt like those list of strains... Well The Chem4 and BlackBerry Kush are no surprise (both very bland IMO) But the TK, Valley, Tahoe, Alien (which alien was it? dog, kush?) what the hell is bombthreat bubba?
Id be interested in what youre opinion of the Sour Dubble would be... Although thats more a strain for taste than its effects, but it still has a good stone.
And BlueDream? Really? I dont dislike the bluedream as much as subrob (he seriously hates it). But i just cant ever imagine liking the bluedream over the list you stated
What is you opinion of the TK og?

Oh and back to the thread topic... OG is a hybrid. Some cuts have more indica effects, some sativa. I would think of it as a 60/40 falling on both ends of either spectrum.

Maybe the key to og is in breeding with her... ;)

i dont understand...i smoke alot of OG kush and it gives me the same cerebral deep thinking high that i got from smoking sativas?

it does make me more burnt out on comedown though for sure, if you smoke at lunchtime its very hard not to be napping by dinner....but when i smoke kush sometimes it makes me grab the notebook and start jotting down notes/plans/schemes/chores etc....
i dont think its about the weed its about your mindset.

im gonna grab some super lemon haze tmro and smoke it from soberness to see if its really that different from the 3 different kinds of OG and SOUR ive been smoking this week.

I agree on the mindset Yes4prop... i can puff some kush that i let go over about ten days and will do the same get the notepad out and do some planning and chores get done.. so mindset is big.. unless your just a lazy fock on top of being jacked down on kush.. :D peace n pufs..

It's crazy how much the individual experienced grower can distinct between a high of the same strain..
I guess it has a whole lot to do with when the crop was harvested, not just that people react different to cannabinoids?

thought it was ocean grown...as to dicomaco's comment...i am curious tom hill if the og you tried was grown by you or someone else? ive had many samples of og, grown by people i dont know, that i thought sucked..she can be a real bitch when she wants too...not too mention there are now, literally, so many 'cuts' of og, that some, well, suck...i would be happy, incredibly happy, to sit down w tom hill and see if we couldnt find some og down our way that might flip his lid!:)...but tom, you gotta bring something too...ive still never had the pleasure of deep chunk!

Ok, so I am guessing it got this designation because the original strain was from a place like Afghanistan, but it is now being grown in California?

It's so obviously indica in appearance and effect. I like it for certain times, but for the most part I prefer many other strains. Best kush I had was called "Watty Kush" or sometimes called "Merritt Kush". It was outdoor grown and had a much more satisfying high than OG kush. I do like OG kush better than Purple Kush though. I'd prefer a crazy haze, lemon swiss, or jack's cleaner over any kush any day. I guess I like the more trippy effect.

okay, i used to like me a good indica. San Diego bred and made famous the P91 nothing like it for calming the fk down or going to sleep. i love the OG purple AKA GDP royal for anxiety and appetite stimulation. for the rest of the day i do like a sativa or it's domanat hybrid......so you are not alone.

for the most part i think over time as our available cannabis pool expanded, our tastes have changed. ie; our senses have matured

Tom you smoked on the Schrom yet??
