If anything I'd assume that the opposite was true - that all of these cali purps are based on (or related to) strains like lavender and blueberry. I can't say either way definitively, maybe someone else is more knowledgeable than me and can help us out...

That was my point, I'm thinking special phenos/accidental crosses from seedstock with DJ/Soma origins or at least some parentage.

VADO, that GDP cut you are growing looks very similar to the one I have had going from cut to cut for 6 or 7 years now. What do you think?

I got it along with a cut of Urkle pictured below. They are very similar. The big difference is the yield of the GDP is higher and the veg rate is slightly faster. In any case they will remain in the stable as long as they wish.

One other observation I have made with these strains is that they hate higher summer grow temps/humidity levels. The buds are much smaller, they don't purp near as much and are very susceptable to rot. Winter grows produce some stellar results however.

edited to add...sorry the pics aren't there and are just links to my old gallery. I don't post much.

Hey highroller, got to agree with just about everything you've said there. Those pictures seem to be the same thing that I've got going from what I can tell... If it's something different then they sure are very similar... It's funny you mentioned hi summer temps with regards to the purp, I grew a large one last summer in the middle of the heat and what you mentioned about not going purple or producing the same ring true. Night and day difference between that and the results I'm getting now. Take care man!!

Kinger glad to hear you got your hands on here, I'm sure you'll like...

I got some at a dispencery by me. A real potent enjoyable high, all in the head though. It was perfect weed if you just want a head high, no body at all.... and it had a skunky smell.

Excellent shots VADO!

I'd love to find a cut of that one KUSHEATER1, body stone weed is my favorite. But I'd grow the one I sampled too since it was some of the best weed I've had in a while. The guy at the dispencery said it was the best he had.

Yeah don't mean to disappoint you ventura but I've got to agree with kusheater. If anything I've found the gdp to be all body with not enough head to the high. It is a sort of one-demensional high, but I like that - a nice indica high to help me relax from time to time.

On the second page there is some info about different clubs that ken estes owns, I imagine that if they are still open those places would have some legit gdp cuts.

So my GDP didnt purple and my Ken's GDP did.

i forgot to take pictures but if you have had issues getting the gdp or other purple strains to show dark purple colors (like photos above) you have some options:

GDP...lower temps or, so ive heard, add ice to your res in the last couple weeks. (look into that)

Ken's GDP.. comes out purple!!!! all the time. my temps
day= 77 to 83
night= 70's.

maybe the key is the night time temp. if you can get some cold circulating air in there, would that help? not sure, just a thought. i dont ventilate so that's not an option for me so ken's gdp is a winner. IMO
