Wow quick response :) After reading this whole thread i feel privileged to be addressed by the master ;) haha

Ok so sounds like my best bet would be to just go ahead and buy soft and hardwater micro...

Thanks for this thread, i wonder if you even realise how many people you have helped all around the world. For instance your knowledge will help me grow even more beautiful herb in the southern tip of Africa :D

Hey h3ad, I was wondering if you ever tried the Rez recommended kool bloom boosts and what is your opinion of this? I know it brings the p and k values really high compared to the regular lucas formula but if timed right, could this help with yield?

If I want to boost P and K, I already have that in the bloom component. I've never found additives to boost yield much.
last plant I harvested was just over 10 ounces.

I was pretty sure it was not going to work.

You guys understand that they make HW Micro with no Ca in it, because too much Ca locks out Mg and K, right? Cal-mag is no cure-all. I've always wondered why people treat a Mg/K deficiency by adding more Ca.

Plant nutrition is all about balance and ratio... If you have everything the plant needs, and it is nothing is over concentrated, then the plant will take what it needs.

The 8 and 10 ounce plants are in 5 gal of coco.

HEAD, I remember you mentioning you put together a wick system, how is this working for you? 8-10 ounces per plant!? How many of these bushes are you growing per light?

yup... 8 to 10oz.

the wicking units hold 5 to 6 gallons of coco, 4 to 5 gallons of nutrient solution, and 2 or 3 gallons of air between the coco and nutrient.... usually fill 2 and do veg and clone transplanting out of 1 brick of coco.

12 bushes under 2600w.

and how much water would you put into a half gallon pot or gallon pot to get the amount of runoff you're supposed to with every watering?

I bloom in 1 gallon pots. I find that a quart of solution everyday gives me enough runoff to check ph and ppm.

Water slowly, let it absorb. If they are super thirsty I'll come back and water an additional quart until I see runoff.

Just my experience.

Just remember, the more you add of one element, the more imbalances you create. Are you sure you need Ca/Mg?

This... If you do have a deficiency a folier spray of Cal/Mag works well. Probably need to be using a zyme and drip clean product to keep the salts out of the coco if you don't already. (Zyme- hygrozyme, sensizym etc.). May want to flush the coco w/ RO and start a new. Gl.
