Can i put my ebac dehumidifier on a plug in segmental timer or is it too much load for the segmental timer to handle the spec of the dehumidifier is 1.3 amps @ 0.35 w - 50 Hz ...thanks in advance for the replys

If you get a timer made for grow lights it should be able to handle it. Only problem is how your dehuey runs. Most won't automatically start running as soon as it's given power, the way most work is once it has power you need to push a "on" button to make it start working. If you havnt bought the dehuey yet I'd look for one that works differently.
But anyways you shouldnt need a timer for it, you set it at a certain setting..usually RH and then it only runs when it needs to.

It's 13 amp at the plug but on the sticker it say's 1.3 amp - phase 1 so it doesn't use much electricity but i dont want a timer failure ...

I think a lighting contactor might work fine. the dehumidifier dosent have an on button but runs right away when its switched on at the plug ..the reason i need it to switch off is because it makes a bit of a noise and i only need it at the dark period when the humidity rises so no need for it when the lights are on.

The newer dehumidifiers with digital controls that cant be controlled with a timer can be made to switch on and off by wiring a relay into the full catch tank switch. to test if your dehumidifier will work this way pull the catch tank while the dewy is running the unit should shut off and then replace the tank if the dewy restarts you are good to go . Ive done this mod so my dewy would only run on the dark cycle when connected to a timer

why dont you just set the percentage of rh then it will automatically turn on and off by itself....no timer needed

Yes you can put your dehumidifier on a timer. I used to have my heaters on timers to run just during the dark cycles in my rooms(only 750 watts). I am assuming you only want yours to run during lights on or off? Either way your okay to put it on a timer with that low of a power load.
Its not a fancy new one with lcd screens .... you cant set it for a set humidity its a old dehuey it stops when the catch is full thats all thats automatic about it lol

The feature that many are alluding to in this thread is called "auto-restart" - check the manual/online to see if your dehuey has this functionality.
FYI, any device that you want to control with an atmospheric controller or timer (heater, dehuey, huey, AC) needs to have this feature.

i can only find the manual for the us version and it has a better spec than mine ... so i cant use that to determine if it has auto restart or not .... its a ebac 660 home dry .

Turn it on..........unplug it..........and then plug it back in.
If it turns right on, it's got an "auto-restart" function and can be used with a timer.

what do you guys suggest for a santa fe classic in a 5k bedroom? attach to sentinel climate control, or just run on a timer during dark cycle.
also i heard someone say that you shouldnt run your exhaust and dehuey at the same time...so maybe have to put them both on different timers to go back and forth....exhaust on during lights on and maybe a few hours into dark, then switches over to just the dehuey. kinda confused..
