the only face to face I had today was with my plumbing contractor & his assistant, retail shopping doesn't count in my book otherwise I've chatted up about 10 associates & 4 cashiers today as well.
excellent thread topic bob, there's a theory amongst some of the 'power set' of business men and women who believe that meeting (not just talking to) 5 new people each day is considered being counterproductive to getting ahead in life.
these people are always putting the best of themselves 'out there' in & outside of their fields of endeavor which will always afford them more opportunities over others who sit @ their desks wondering when their ship's coming in.......

i agree with s4l. gotta put yourself out there. i used to be a mover so id meet and talk to alot of people in a day not to mention the other people i meet and see because of my other activities. being out there helps you advance in life..

Im a very introverted person...at my last job i would see 6 or 7 people i worked with daily.As well as some close friends who would visit on weekends.I'd go to events with lots of people ,but often not talk to random people i didn't know.....
Now with the new place im working ,i come in contact with about 20 co-workers a day,and on a slow day 25 customers ,on a busy day 100-300 customers ,all of which i
must converse with .
This has has created an amazing change, in my social interaction with people.I have no problem now approching anyone for no reason,just to converse.It amazing what can happen,when your forced to do something ,out of your character......

I haven't spoken to someone outside of my family, face-2-face, in several weeks...Although, I did tell a CS rep from LG to stick an entire sidebyside frig up his ass on the phone today, does that count?

wow this evening I gave a tour of the capus to a group full wide eyed high school kids all in all i have seen 150 of them tonight. And I came to a sad realization I am to old for 18 year olds my god do they act dumb.

to day, so far two. cleaner,(dumb bitch, would keep talk to minimum)
i dont live in my native country, and socialy i havent intigrated very well. but the pople here hare a bit formal, or strict.
to day the wife is sick, so she isnt interesting to talk to eater, just whining. and blowing snottbubbles.
im going to talk to my ladys in the basement, atleast they smell sweet.

At least 100 + a day and sometimes much more .. I am in retail/service industry!
It can get very tiring and you deal with a lot of rude people which gets on my tits at times but I have been doing it for years now. Next year I am off the front lines, as we are getting someone else to operate 'in the trenches' as I like to call it!!

on a normal work day, id say around 12-15. Mostly co workers, family, and a few friends. I need to get a job that works with customers and shit, im to shy i need to bust out.

Wife, and kids. Somtimes I go a week or more with just talking to them. I don't leave the house much. I live in a small town with no neighbors. More animals then people. I love it.
