Thanks for this thread, i read it from end to the end.

It all starts so depressingly but ends so positively really helped me make my mind to really go for it this summer.

alright chaps good thread im also up here in the land of wind and rain. heard good things about HFH and will be having a go with a few of these this year, good luck to eveyone

GJP, I see you grew easy sativa and purple maroc last season - I presume from female seeds.

Its ones I've been thinking of as I've seen top results with the easy sativa for the last 2 years in UK and its one I'm definitely getting for this season. I'm not sure about purple maroc, purple power is very fast but on forums I've read its weak potency. maybe the maroc crossed with it has made it more potent.

How did they do for you, did they finish?

also, how well did those 3 easy sativas in the 70l bag of tomato compost finish?

I'm looking at 25l pots so it would be good to know how big the plants are likely to go roughly considering 3 x 25 is 75 (had to think about that for a minute) which is same as the bag I see you using earlier in the thread

you didnt comment on the Esativas after that post though, how did they smoke? worth buying??

Most of my Femaleseeds strains I grew out never finished except for a few early phenos.I won't be growing them again outdoors. You should check out HFH or GuerillaGold3 from smoke a lot seeds, these will be much earlier than dutch stuff.

How do you guys go about amending very acid soils? How well do cannabis plants perform in this sort of soil?

Try adding some dolomite lime Mossy bud, think it takes a few months to leach into soil so the earlier the better.
I grew most of my plants in amended acidic soil lastyear without any problems, make sure to feed them with a top dressing of FBB or something similar every couple of months as there hungry buggers once they get going.

Im going to try hydrated lime (builders lime). I wont go mad with it, its pretty harsh stuff, i asked a farmer earlier, he said it would work fast but wouldnt last that long. This is the advantage of dolomite and other rock limes, they break down slowly and sweeten the soil for several years at a time. So later in the season, ill add dolomite too, ill add it to any spots i find through the summer that i wont use till next season.

Its the same every spring, after all my pot fueled pipe dreams through winter, im never quite prepared for the spring :).

Sounds like a plan Mossy, i'm sure it'll do the trick nicely.
I know what you mean about not being prepared.i need to get some plants ready for going out early May better start cracking a few beans :)

Bio char is quite alkaline at around 8.5ph

It is easy to make and will enrich your soil and keep improving. Holds onto nutrients and increases the biological activity in the earth.

I highly recommend. See my terra preta thread for more info

My garden is almost ready for harvest. Had to pull some girls early beacause of mold. Been a cold and wet summer and affected all kinds of crops from grapes to cherries and even honey production.

Just like Scotland lol.

Loving my White (purple pheno) Rhino from Nirvana. :smoke:

It has finished weeks in front...

I am also conducting a mold experiment... stay tuned!

Fuckin hell it's been a quick year, it's time to start sticking a few plants outside and see how they cope with our climate.Strains this year are Esbens ARNE f2, EGxMMxGG and some TxP.I'm doing minimal prep this year, just reusing lastyears holes with some FBB mixed in.

Planted out my first batch of ARNE today and snapped a few pics.
