Mosca Seeds Test Grow: Stinky la Pew x Old Time Moonshine

The test pack has arrived and it's time to get this show on the road! I got a pack of Stinky la Pew x OTM.

Here's some information on the SLP mother, taken from Mosca Negra's OTM thread:

Sunsimulator's (Stinky La Pew) Mass Super Skunk/Sour Bubble creation has a dank highness that is shoulders above many weeds I have tasted & grown. SLP is a medium height plant with big solid colas and delivers in the yield dept. A purple coloration/tinge shows up near the end of the flower cycle. 60-65 days days of flowering for this female specimen of perfection.

Combined with the deep hashy flavors of OTM this should be some musky, stanky funk... in other words, my kinda herb! Thanks for making this possible, Mosca! Here we go. :tiphat:

Welcome to the show, guys! 24 hours in and I've got my first 9 cracked beans. The other two haven't moved yet but it's still early. One of them was a little bit iffy right out of the gate, so I wouldn't be surprised if one doesn't pop. We'll see though, seeds have surprised me before. :smoke:

Mosca, I'd say these pass the first test with flying colors. 9/11 in 24 hours represents an above-average performance in my grow.

Heya KW. :smoke:

Just dropped #10 into dirt, she had a tail showing. Still nothing on the last one, betting that's all I get.

Here's a shot of the mom they used in your cross at about 70 days.
She is very chunky...small amount of stretch and has a gummy/kushy smell with a lil bit of a diesel note. DLB

Well, so far so good. The first 7 poked above the soil line yesterday, and the last 3 were waiting for me when I got up this morning. The 11th bean never did crack - it was the one which sunk like a stone straight out of the pack so not a surprise in the least.

Mosca - official germ rate for my sample is 10/11, or 91%.

DrLongbottom - Thanks for sharing that pic of the SLP. She looks super chunky, I'm excited to see what's in store for me here.

- Which one did you get, the Bubblegum? That was the one I was hoping for too, along with this one. Got a thread going?

Update time

Update time

I know things always move slowly at the beginning, but here's a shot of what we've got now:

Notice that one is missing... the runt has moved on to the great compost heap in the sky, so now we have 9. You can see it not looking quite right a couple days ago:

... and now she is shrivelled and gone. As Mosca says, nature has her ways of ensuring that only the strong survive. This one was not strong. :smoke:

Time for more pics! They're big enough now to have some personality, so I've gone ahead and assigned them their numbers. Here they are by 3s:

Transplants should be coming in the next week or so, and they should start developing some smells about then as well. So far they are healthy, vigorous, and strong, a promising beginning.

Pics coming tomorrow, I gave all 9 an up-pot tonight and they're looking a little grumpy. I'll let them regain their dignity before presenting them to the public. They look great. :smoke:

Ok, here are the childrens. Pictures are from last night but my camera battery crapped out before I could get them on the PC.

As you can see by the pics there are a few with some yellowing going on and a few with none at all. Seems to be a pretty wide spread in terms of feeding requirements - they've been fed identically thus far. There are definitely differences in meristem stretch at this point too, with a distinct 'short group' and 'tall group' beginning to form.

There are also a few taking on distinct individual traits. #8 has a structure unlike the other 8, for instance, and I think #4 and especially #7 have leaves which look like Sour Bubble. (They look just like several of my Sour Lifesaver phenos, anyway.)

So here they are, in order, 1-9:
