I've heard them say if you use 'Drip Clean' throughout flowering you can cut out or minimize your flush period. Has anyone practiced this?

Drip clean is not meant to eliminate the flush cycle. It is meant to help keep salts from building up between feedings. You should still do at least a week long flush before harvest. Use the drip clean thru your whole grow. I use the full line of H&G and never have any salt build up problems.

mgk :tiphat:

H&G recommends a 3-5 day flush. I personally don't agree with this. I still do 7-10 day flush.

I have never had burn. But I have grown a few plants on H&G that did not like it.

Rule of thumb with H&G......if your strain(s) has a large appetite, it will thrive on H&G. But if not, use your other nutes.

I flush for a week and a half at the least... 2 week flush of just water is the way to go IMO...

If i'm running few Ghe aquafarms do you guys recommend the hydro nutrient or the aqua flakes? In the past I have always run the hydro nutrient in recirculating systems an have always had great results, but surely running the Aqua Flakes which is dedicated to recirculating systems would be a better option for me. Any opinions.... Thanks

I am growing some bubba kush, local BC cut, with the full H&G soild lineup. I am growing in 40% promix, 40%canna cocco, 20% fulvic, hulmic, and worm castings.

I have no complaints on the nutrient lineup. My rep told me to disregard the mix a, mix b, ph, then addatives. He says to mix a, wait, mix b, wait, then add addatives, wait, then PH.

I dont even have to PH my water and the soultion locks to 6.3

I have heard lots of good things about H&G, and I liked the way the bud tasted after it was grown with the full H&G lineup in soil. The price is right as well!!

Yea the Hydro version of H&G is for drain to waste rockwool not recirculating systems from what I've read..

I got 2 free packages of the Soil A+B plus all teh additives, a T-shirt..lol..all kinds of shit... They hooked it up.... I really want to make the switch from Gh Flora to H&G's full soil Line....But the feeding charts PPm's per watering is crazy high....Just worries me a little...But everything I read from peoples experiences are always great... Im going to go for it, this next round....

SOIL GROWERS! Are you following the H&G chart to a "T"? 19 ML of A and 19 ML of B in week 5, 6 , and 7? Man it sounds so crazy, and goes against everything I try to avoid....lol... So run it per the H&G charts, full strength....and mind you, this 19 ml is the normal feeding regiment, NOT the aggressive....

Thanks alot for any answers.. This really is a great thread... I wish there was more talk of H&G nutes and adds. Shit seems top shelf... Ive been using the Roots Excel and Drip Clean for sometime now, and both are magical.... Thanks alot folks...

Have a Great Christmas, and a Better New Year....

I'm curious... who did you contact for the sample packs? I had a friend contact them and they never followed thru. When I got my sample pack, I emailed Humbolt wholesale and they contacted me by phone to ask what kind of medium I was using etc, and asked me to pay the freight, which I did happily and got the full meal deal minus the t-shirt.

btw my feed chart says 5 ml / L in week 5, 6, 7, where the heck are u getting ur numbers from??

checkout my grow in my sig.

i am in a soil.coco mix and i am using soil a & b

How long does one have to wait after adding part A of Aqua Flakes and then part B, then PH? I find this really a bummer as you almost have to have a seperate mixing container to mix nutes in it seems and let them "settle" or whatever it is thats happening that you have to wait...I mean its a liquid nutrient? Whats the deal with this and how long do you guys wait before mixing and what not.........

Thanks in advance!

Also, say you mix up a batch in DWC using aqua flakes and a few days later need to bump up the EC level....does one just add part A and wait a bit (directly to the system) then add part b? And if so again how long would one wait before adding the part B in? Shirley this can be done with the plants still in the system while you make these adjustments or do they expect you to remove your plants from the system and make these EC adjustments?

hey the biomaster,

i let my little gian pump agitate and mix my water while I am mixing my food. I take about 45min to 1 hour to mix my food whatever the brand,,GH, AN,house and garden.

For H&G I add part a, let mix for 15-20 min, add b, let mix for 15-20 min,,start adding additives one by one and let the whole mixutre mix for another 20 min before i ph. I allow my ph to settle for another 15 min before I water.

I agree with Redrain on this. It is always better to let each nute settle in before adding the next one...

I have been told that with a recirculating DWC system it is best to use only half strength of the nutrients, but I wonder if this is true with the Aqua Flakes. Anyone have any experience with this?

:yeahthats this way you have plenty of time for other chores like dead leafin or lookin for pm/bugs etc. (i leave little clues of what i've added already like leaving the measuring cup upsidedown on the a or b etc.. 15 minutes can be a long time to remember hahah)

I run aquaflakes in a recirculating dwc.
I just add the A into the system, then add the B, then additives, then ph. I don't premix first, and so far no problems. Running at 1000-1200ppm at .5 conversion. I haven't tried higher ppm yet with aquaflakes although I've ran lucas up to 1600 ppm before.

By ".5 conversion" you mean half strength, correct?

How do you like the H&G in the RDWC system?

i like taking my time. When you rush things you are bound to make mistakes.

I always take time to sit back and roll or vaporize some bud.
